Chapter 195: Confession

Hiro nodded to Harry before he explained to Mel. Earlier, he went to the hospital to see her, but Uncle Jim said she was having lunch with her friends. So he decides to get his lunch either, but he accidentally bumps into James, who just had a meeting with Ryan on the way to this restaurant. And they ended up eating together at this restaurant.

"Wow, if I knew that earlier, I would have asked you to lunch together with us. And I know someone would be thrilled with that." Mel said, laughing.

When her eyes landed on James, she remembered that Anna had confided that James had never contacted her. She was very curious whether James forgot Anna or he really threw away Anna’s business card?

Suddenly an idea popped into her mind, she wanted to make the statue man, Hiro, jealous of James. A mischievous smile appeared.

"Brother James, this is my friends Harry and Anna." James held out his hand to Harry. Then to Anna. Mel continued her sentence... "Brother James, you’ve met her before, don’t you remember her?"

While Anna is standing beside Mel, she is puzzled to hear when she calls James, brother. She looked at Mel, wanting to ask her. But, obviously, Mel ignored her. She cursed her in her heart to keep a secret about knowing James.

James was a little surprised when he heard his sister-in-law’s words. He tried to remember where he had met Anna. After a while, he chuckled. "I remember. Anna Wilmer, right?" James laughed at Anna.

Anna nodded slowly, embarrassed. Turns out James hadn’t forgotten her. But, at that time, her voice suddenly disappeared. She can’t speak at all. Her tongue felt so numb. And something bothering her mind, she saw Hiro standing unconcerned beside James.

Seeing Hiro’s gesture, Anna knew that Hiro wanted to quickly leave this room at this moment. Her heart was a little disappointed because Hiro didn’t even glance at her.

"What?" She asked confusedly to Mel beside her.

"Nothing. Let’s go...." Mel said, then walked towards the exit.

"Gosh!!! Anna, how can you not know that Hiro is jealous to see you get along with James?" She rolls her eyes. After that, she leaves her. Now, she really doesn’t have time to talk about her love line with Hiro.

Mel’s words were like lightning striking her. Makes her mind instantly work correctly. She was in deep thought. Making a plan of what she should do so that this misunderstanding ends soon. For her relationship with Hiro to progress.

The sound of the phone ringing brought her back to her senses.

"Anna, do you want to come in my car or take a taxi?" Harry asked on the other end.

"Harry, you go first. I’ll take a taxi!!" Anna said, then hung up the phone.

Then she quickly opened the chat application and sent a short message. After that, her lips curled up, her smile widening to frame her shining face.

In Grandpa Tanner’s VIP treatment room, Hiro sat opposite Mel at the dining table.

Suddenly his cell phone vibrated, he immediately saw a short message that just came in.

[Anna] Because I’m not a woman who likes to wait. So, let me ask you first. What would you say if I told you I love you?

His heart suddenly beat fast, without him realizing that his gloomy face suddenly turned cheerful. Spontaneously he stood up from his chair.

"Boss, sorry, I think I have to leave for a while. I will come back again." Hiro said quickly, then he ran out of the room, leaving Mel dumbfounded to see him gone just like that.

"What’s wrong with him?" She asks herself, then focuses again on the paper on the table. She must read and sign those letters for Hiro.

Hiro ran to the hospital corridor while calling Anna.

"Where are you?" He asks with his low deep voice.

Anna, still standing in her place, was surprised when Hiro called her "H-Hiro, I’m in front of the hospital."

"Stay where you are, don’t go anywhere. I will come to you now!" He said, then turned off the phone.

Anna stared at the screen of her cellphone. She knew that Hiro had read her confession of love. Her heart started beating faster than usual. It mixed feelings. She was happy that Hiro responded quickly, but at the same time, she was afraid her love for Hiro was one-sided.

Waiting for a few minutes is like waiting for him for hours. Anna couldn’t wait to see him, and she hated and loved it. This mixed feeling would drive her mad.

From afar, she saw Hiro coming out of the hospital. He was walking with firm steps towards her and stopped right before her. Their distance was so close that it made her feel nervous when she looked at Hiro’s beaming face.

"Anna..." Hiro softly called. "I’m sorry for keeping you waiting too long."

Anna’s body was stiff. She could only look at him as her tongue suddenly numb. She couldn’t speak. However, she signaled to him through her eyes. She was waiting for his answer.

"Anna, I didn’t know the true meaning of love until you came. But, I was too afraid to tell you that I like you. Afraid you would reject me." He nervously chuckled while touching his nape. Hiro is looking the cutest when he nervously chuckles, and this made Anna almost faint.

He adds, "I wanted to wait until you gave me a signal, but the more I waited, the more afraid I was to tell you. I can’t bear to lose you, even the sight of your...." Hiro suddenly stopped talking.

He realized that right now, he was talking too much. He wanted to slap his face for being too stupid to say the romantic lines he’d memorized from the book ’How to confess to your Crush and Succeed’ that he bought a few weeks ago.

After he adjusted his heart once again. He looked Anna straight in the eyes, then took her hand and squeezed it gently before he said, "Anna, my answer is; I love you too. Let’s do something about it, together."

She was so surprised to hear Hiro say such a romantic thing, but a moment later, she felt the words were so familiar, it seemed like she had read it in a book.

But a few seconds later, Hiro’s words almost made her heart jolt.

Did he answer me?

Did he like me too?

Did he ask me out?

Anna answers him right away, but her voice betrays her. No sound comes out from her mouth. She could only nod and answer ’YES’ through her eyes.
