Chapter 181: Doctor Robert

"First Brother..."

Ryan’s voice made Andrew come back from his thoughts. He immediately turned his body to look at Ryan, who was checking Mel’s IV infusion.

"How is Grandpa progressing?" Andrew asks quietly to Ryan, who now is sitting on the single sofa in front of him.

Ryan took a deep sigh before saying... "His condition is still the same as before. Now he is in an ICU room to be monitored for 3x24 hours. Hopefully, he can wake up, and we can start treatment for his cancer."

"What are the odds? Please tell us the truth..."

"Well, we can slow down the spread of the cancer cells, but the survival rate will remain unchanged, so we just prolong Grandfather’s time, but the chance of success is still low."

Andrew’s face turned darker. He was uneasy if anything happened to Grandpa, Mel would be devastated. What’s more, what just happened to her was the same as what happened with the accident a few years ago that took her mother’s life.

He was afraid the incident would remind her of the tragedy of her past. It has traumatized her for the past few years, and this will undoubtedly worsen it. He doesn’t want his beloved woman experiencing that turmoil again.

"But Brother, we can increase his chances of survival..." Andrew lifts his head to look at him. Ryan continued... "We need an expert doctor who has researched this brain cancer for a long time. But unfortunately, he lives in country M, and he has a lot of patients, and it’s not easy to contact him."

"What’s his name, and where is he? I’ll try to contact him." A glimmer of hope appeared on his face. Whatever it was, for the sake of the woman he loved, he would do anything to help Grandpa.

"He is a senior doctor who works at M Int’l Hospital, his name is doctor Robert Davis. He researched this disease a dozen years ago. He is also a brain surgeon who is very famous because all the patients he treats are cancer-free. In the medical field, he is the number one doctor for brain surgeons."

Mel already woke up when Andrew and Ryan were talking on the couch. However, she purposely didn’t bother them because her eyes were still heavy. But, her sleepiness disappeared when she heard Ryan say Doktor Robert’s name.

"Brother Ryan, you mentioned Dr. Robert can heal my grandpa!?" Mel tried to sit up.

Andrew came over to help her, and he adjusted the treatment bed into a sitting position.

"I can’t say he can cure Grandpa, but if he takes your grandfather’s case and treats him. Then his survival rate will be high." He walked closer and stood at the end of the bed. "But, the problem is, Dr. Robert has never received patients anywhere else. He only practices at a hospital in country M. If we want him to treat your Grandpa, we have to take him there. And I heard from my colleague that his patients need to queue for around two to three months in advance."

Andrew was stunned.

Mel nodded. Then, she looked at Andrew, who was sitting beside her... "Andrew, where is my cell phone?"

Andrew swiftly took her cell phone that was in her bag and gave it to her.

"You want to call someone?"

Mel nodded while looking for a name in her phonebook. After finding the name, she immediately called.

"Hmm, I called doctor Robert to come here to see Grandpa."

Andrew "..."

Ryan "..."

"Sister-in-law, do you know him?" Ryan is shocked to hear that Mel knows Dr. Robert.

Mel smiled before answering him, "Hmm, he’s the doctor who took care of me when I was in an accident, and he also took care of me until I recovered."

Not long after, the phone line was connected...

"Little Mel? Suddenly you called me. What is it? Is there a problem with your head?" Doctor Robert’s voice panicked on the other end. In recent years Mel rarely contacted him. It means good. There is no side effect with her head due to an accident a few years ago.

"Hahaha, no, nothing happened to me, Dr. Robert."

"I’ve told you so many times there’s no need to call me that formal. Call me uncle Robert, alright?"

"Are you sure I should call you Uncle, not Grandpa?" Mel laughs when she hears him scold her, "Alright... Alright, I’m just kidding, Uncle Robert."

Ryan was shocked to see Mel talking to a very senior doctor in brain surgery casually. He was now convinced that his sister-in-law was really close to him.

Mel adds, "Uncle, I’m fine. But my grandfather was diagnosed with Glioblastoma just a few moments ago. I heard you did some research on this disease. Can Uncle Robert help my grandfather?"

Mel smiled when she heard Uncle Robert agree to take a look at her grandfather’s case.

Uncle Robert asked the hospital to send her grandfather’s medical report. He would study it first before deciding what action he needed to take to help her grandfather.

"Uncle, I will give this phone to the head doctor who treats my Grandpa. Uncle can tell him what uncle needed, okay?" After that, Mel gave her cellphone to Ryan.

Mel looked at Andrew at her side. "Andrew, I hope Uncle Robert can heal Grandpa," said Mel happily.

Now her heart is more relieved after knowing that there is hope for Grandpa to survive.

"Of course, he can cure Grandpa. Doctor Robert is the number one brain surgeon in the world. My wife, no need to worry, Grandpa will definitely recover." Andrew patted Mel gently before he said, "But, you have your dinner first. Since noon you haven’t eaten. I’m afraid you’ll be sick...."

Mel was shocked.

She just realized that she hasn’t eaten anything since morning. And when Andrew brought up the matter of food, she immediately felt the dragon in her stomach wake up from his sleeping beauty... "Andrew, I’m hungry. I want to eat now." She said with sparkling eyes thinking about her favorite food... "But, I don’t like hospital food. Can you order food from outside?"

Andrew chuckled. "I know you don’t like hospital food. That’s why I asked Wolfang SteakHouse to send your favorite food. Maybe they’ll be here soon."

Mel delight.

"Andrew, can you ask brother Ryan to remove this IV infusion? It really hurts!"

Just as Andrew wanted to call Ryan. The man had appeared at the door.

Ryan returned Mel’s cellphone and immediately removed the IV needle in her hand.

"Brother Ryan, how was your conversation with Uncle Robert?"
