Chapter 135: Nothing Simple About Her

After talking about the revenge plot, they change to another topic.

"Brother, when are you going to introduce my sister-in-law to our elders?" James asks again.

He is getting stressed because he was terrorized by Father and Mather William every day to ask about Andrew’s fiancee. Andrew never responded to them if they asked him. Even Grandpa Will begins to suspect that Andrew’s girlfriend is fictitious.

But, James reassures them if Andrew’s girlfriend really exists. He also said to them that he had met Andrew’s girlfriend. Because of that, now he’s being bothered by all the elders at home.

"Family monthly dinner." He said with a gentle tone. He can’t wait to take his little girl to meet his family. He wants their relationship to bring another level and asks her beloved to meet her inlaw.

Actually, in his heart, he didn’t want to wait until July. He wanted to immediately go to the registry office to register his marriage with Mel. He really wanted to ultimately tie the knot with Mel and make her his wife.

"Wow! two more days?" James was surprised and delighted.

Finally, the waiting for the elders at the Will mansion ended as well. He couldn’t wait to share this good news with them. "Brother, do I need to tell mother? So, she can prepare a special dish for my sister-in-law?"

Andrew fell silent.

At first, he didn’t want to tell his family. He wanted to surprise them. But James had a point. If her mother could make Mel’s favorite dish, she would be happy. His little girl loves good food the most. He agreed to James and asked him to tell his mother.

"Fourth brother, you will come, right?" Andrew asks James.

"Yes, of course."

"Is your girlfriend coming too?"

James froze.

Ryan was curious, "Yes, Fourth-brother, you have never brought her to hang out with us? Come on, let her get to know sister-in-law."

"She doesn’t have time," James said sadly.

"Until when are you going to hide your relationship with the elder at home?"

James "..."

Andrew and Ryan can only sympathize with James’ love situation which will not be easy.

Exactly one o’clock in the morning, James and Ryan said goodbye.

Andrew returned to the room to check his little girl, who was still fast asleep. He left the room once again and entered his study. He still had some work to do because he had left his work entirely for the whole day long just to take care of his most beloved woman on earth.

As soon as he entered his study, he saw Mel’s bag on the table. He immediately lifted it. But, the bag was not tightly closed, and a tiny purse came out from it. He opened and stuffed the tiny purse in, but his hand stopped when he saw a small gun in the bag.

Andrew is staring intently at the gun. It is a locked and loaded Glock 43.

He holds it and carefully checks its barrel’s condition and cleanliness.

His heart tightened, but also proud as he finds the gun is clean and in well-maintained condition.

He took out his cellphone and called someone to check the firearm’s serial number and the registry.

He couldn’t sit still in his work chair. His back stiffened as his mind was wandering around about various things. He wanted to know where his little girl got this gun? Is this gun illegal? Why is she carrying a gun? Does she know how to shoot and clean a gun?

The vibration of his cell phone brought him back from his thoughts. He immediately read the incoming short message.

Andrew sat pensively after reading the firearms certificate he had just received. It turns out Mel’s gun is legal and licensed by the X army.

Why?

Why does she need a gun?

And why did the army permit her to own the gun?

He took out his cell phone once again, then called someone. Not long after, there was a deep voice of someone that sounded like he was just waking up from sleep. "First brother? Why are you calling me now?"

"Second-brother, I need your help with something important," Andrew said seriously.

"What is it?"

"I Will send you the text. Please find out who gave this person the gun registry and the purpose of giving her permission to carry a concealed weapon. I need your reply within an hour." He then hung up the phone without giving the other person a chance to ask back.

Andrew sent the text as he glanced at the clock on the table. It’s already two in the morning. He prayed in his heart that his second-brother would find the answer.

Now and then, he takes a deep sigh, and he can’t take his eyes off the gun lying on his desk.

A few minutes later, his cell phone vibrated, and he saw the incoming message.

His heart tightened as he read the message.

Andrew realized his beloved fiance was not a simple person. He starts to connect the blank dots. Several suspicious occurrences he had every time he investigated her.

When he investigated her identity on New Year’s Eve, he couldn’t find anything about her. Even the CCTV around the hotel and her apartment were missing. It was as if she had never appeared in either of those places, like ghosts.

In the incident in city B, she has beaten up two gangsters who attacked her. Still, no CCTV in front of hotel W city B and the surrounding location has recorded the incident.

Then yesterday, an attack that caused her hand to hurt is also missing from the CCTV around, and according to Hans, she injured two gangsters by herself.

And now, she has a legal firearm issued by the military. Still, even the second brother can’t have the authority to check her gun details.

"My Love, what are you hiding? Are you really just an IT consultant in the military like you say?" Andrew was deep in thought.

He wanted to ask her directly. But, he doesn’t know how to do it without making her suspicious. Especially as he has promised to her to wait for her to say everything.

Andrew sat quietly in his chair with his eyes closed; he was deep in thought.

"Andrew? What are you doing here?" Mel’s voice snapped Andrew out of his thoughts.

He opened his eyes and saw the love of his life already standing in front of the door with half-opened eyes and tousled hair. He immediately walked towards her.

"Love, why are you awake already? Does your hand hurt?" Andrew panicked and immediately checked her arm.

Mel shook her head.

"No. I feel very thirsty, when I wake up, I don’t see you. So..."

"Go back to the room. I’ll bring some water for you," Andrew said, then walked quickly to the kitchen. After that, he followed Mel into the room and gave her a glass of water.

After drinking, Mel went back to sleep in Andrew’s arms.

"Andrew, don’t stay up late. Continue your work tomorrow." Mel said as she closed her eyes and cuddled at him.
