Chapter 128: A Coward

This afternoon the park looked deserted. There was no one else in the garden, only them and the burly men.

Mel saw them more clearly when they got close. Their faces were expressionless. They looked similar to the gangsters who attacked her in city B a month ago.

Were they sent by that slut? Thought Mel.

Mel slowly touched the AI sticker behind her ear and activated the SCL. Since the fake Mario incident, Mel always uses SCL wherever she goes.

She scanned them to see if they were carrying firearms. Because if they have firearms, she can’t be careless against them. Now she regrets not bringing her bag because she keeps her gun in that bag.

The goddess of luck is on Mel’s side. Right now, these burly men don’t carry firearms. They only have knives. Mel looked at them coldly. Just as she was about to ask what their intentions were, Mel heard Harry’s voice behind.

"B-Boss, let’s go! We still have a chance to escape."

"Shut up, Harry!! Can you act like a manly man? Why do we have to run?"

"Boss, I don’t think we can win fighting them. We are outnumbered, alright!"

"I-If you want to go, go ahead. I’m not going anywhere!"

"Hey!! Have you guys finished the discussion?" asked one of the burly men with bald heads.

Mel ignored him. Her gaze still on Harry, she casually said to him "Are we not their match? Well, Harry, we wouldn’t know if we didn’t try! Gosh, Harry, you have a big body, but why are you being such a coward!?" Mel said, mocking him.

"Sh*t!! Boss, who’s scared?" Harry rolled his eyes in annoyance at being called a coward. "I’m not afraid, alright!" He brought his head closer to her and whispered... "But Boss, there are 10 people. We can die if we fight with all of them. Let’s run..."

Mel was speechless. She immediately wanted to punch Harry in the face. This man is one who in a dangerous emergency thinks with his legs, what a shame. She was annoyed.

While Mel and Harry were busy chattings, the ten burly men waited patiently for them not far from where they were standing.

But a few minutes passed as they watched, Harry and Mel didn’t finish talking. With an impatient voice, the burly man with the bald head spoke again, "Guys!! Sorry, we can’t wait for you to finish the discussion." He said coldly, "You! Follow us, now, or we will use violence!!"

They were ordered by their superior to force Harry to follow them. If he refused, they could use force. And, since this woman was with Harry, she was one of their targets as well.

Mel and Harry simultaneously looked at the bald, burly man with a look of irritation in their eyes because he interrupted their essential conversation. Simultaneously they said... "CAN YOU BE MORE PATIENT?? WE ARE NOT FINISHED TALKING, OK!!"

All the burly men are speechless.

After a while, Mel finally asked the bald, burly man, "Who are you, and what is your purpose in chasing us?"

He replied with an expressionless face and cold voice, "You don’t need to know who we are, but you must come with us right now!" He then rushed forward and tried to hold Mel’s hand, but Mel dodged quickly.

The gangster was a little surprised to see this little girl’s movement was so fast. He immediately threw his fist, but Mel once again dodged quickly. After standing at a safe distance from the bald, burly man attacking her, Mel said casually, "Guys! I have nothing to do with you. So please get out of my sight, or...."

The bald, burly man laughed at her words, he asked her with his mocking tone... "Or what? You’re going to beat us up?" he said as he scanned Mel’s body from head to toe, he added, "with your small body? Little girl, I give you two thumbs up for having that much courage. But, sorry to say, you are not our opponent." He raised his hand, calling for Mel to come closer. "Come here, just follow my orders, don’t fight. You’ll get hurt later."

Harry, who was still standing behind Mel, instantly froze when he saw and heard Mel’s confrontation.

’Damn it, Boss! You made my pride drop to the ground floor.’ Harry cursed in his heart because now, seeing his position standing behind Mel, he felt like he was being protected by a little girl.

"Boss, let me handle all of this. I’ll hold them while you’re running away." Harry said, then stepped in front of Mel.

"No, Harry!! I don’t think you are strong and capable enough to fight them. They are also not your opponent." Mel said, halting Harry from helping her. Her voice sounded serious. Mel knew Harry had no martial arts skills, while she was sure she could clean up these ten burly men without much effort. Usually, gangsters like this only have a frightening body and appearance but are mostly incapable in martial arts and counting on bluffing their opponents. In terms of martial arts skills, they are not probably don’t have any or just soft skills.

Harry almost vomited blood hearing Mel, annoyed he replied to her... "Boss, what do you say, I’m weak? Sh*t!! I can fight them, trust me. Go Behind Me, Boss"

When they were seriously arguing, one of the burly men suddenly approached them without them noticing him. The man stabbed a small dagger at Mel’s hand.

Mel, who was currently having a serious conversation with Harry, didn’t notice it. Instantly she felt her hands sting, and seconds, later she smelled fresh blood from her hand.

Instantly, the aura on her face turned cold, she quickly saw the man who stabbed her hand with a dagger.

She sent a powerful kick into the man’s hand. His blade bounced off, and he staggered back a few steps, then as fast as lightning, she charged forward and kicked him in the head.

The man was blown away and fell to the ground hard, motionless.

It all happened so fast that the other burly men couldn’t see Mel’s movements. Nor did Harry see it.
