Daily life of a cultivation judge
Chapter 1219 - 1219: Leaving for azure sapphire kingdom (1)

Yang Qing unaware of Xia Cangfu's plight, exchanged a few more words with him before finally making his plans to leave. Now that he'd gotten all he needed and his questions about the Xia clan answered, there was no reason to stay longer.

The only thing left was to find out whether the retainer clans had played any part in Bai Chen's kidnapping. Given how things had played out, Yang Qing felt it was unlikely, though it wouldn't hurt to get the confirmation straight from the horse's mouth.

As soon as he left here, he would head straight to the Xia clan's former grounds, now known as the Violet Feather Sword Sect. While there, he intended to uncover the truth from the higher-ups.

Telling them he was just from visiting the Silver Crane Sect would likely make them more forthcoming with any information they had. After all, those four clans had only dared to act against the Xia clan because the Silver Crane Sect had tacitly approved their actions.

Without that backing, they never would have dared.

Having already laid out his travel plans, Yang Qing moved to thank Xia Cangfu for his time and help.

"Thank you very much, Senior Xia Cangfu, for all your help," said Yang Qing, cupping his fists in gratitude.

"It's my pleasure," Xia Cangfu replied as he returned the courtesy.

"You can tell Xia Fang, when she reaches the peak stage of the core formation realm... I don't know which form of the Dual Paths of the Azure Pheasant Scripture she's cultivating, but if she manages to master it to the blooming phase, she can come find me and receive the completed gold-grade scripture. She can use it to pave her path forward to the palace realm.

I'll personally guide her through the introductory phases and help set her foundations," said Xia Cangfu.

"I'll pass it along," said Yang Qing with a light smile.

Xia Cangfu may have said they'd washed their hands of all Xia clan matters, but it seemed that wasn't entirely true.

Xia Fang might still have a path to resurgence. If she met the requirements Xia Cangfu had laid out, she would receive personal tutelage from a domain expert—and not just any domain expert, but one whose talents had stood out even within a place like the Silver Crane Sect.

If things went well, Xia Fang had a high chance of being reborn from the ashes of her life.

Reaching the domain realm wasn't guaranteed—not for her, nor for anyone—but what she was guaranteed was that, at the very least, reaching the palace realm had become a solid, concrete possibility. With Xia Cangfu guiding her, her foundations at that stage would likely be top-tier.

After all, Xia Cangfu carried not only the insights of a domain expert but also the wisdom of a Senior Scholar of Silver Breath Peak.

She was bound to soar, but all that was predicated on the premise that she could pull her mind back from the abyss.

Hopefully, if she does pull herself back, she won't go staring back into that same abyss again.

For all their long lives, cultivators rarely forgot their grievances, especially if there was even a sliver of a chance to repay them tenfold. Vengeance was something they almost always pursued.

Yang Qing's hope for Xia Fang was that she wouldn't tread that same path. He hoped she wouldn't seek revenge against the four retainer clans in the name of her fallen clan.

After all, it was her own clan that had set all of this in motion. While he wouldn't ask her to forget or even forgive what had happened, Yang Qing hoped she would understand it and move on. Because if she sought her pound of flesh, then the cycle would only begin anew.

Yang Qing sighed inwardly at the thought.

A few seconds later, those apprehensive thoughts gave way to calm as his gaze settled on Xia Cangfu's wizened eyes.

He has likely anticipated such a scenario. The fact that he's offered to guide her means he must have a way to restrain her from going down that path, Yang Qing mused.

"You shouldn't keep Senior Shayuan waiting too long now, otherwise I'll be the one he takes to task," joked Xia Cangfu.

"You're right," said Yang Qing with a chuckle. "Thank you, once more. Should you ever need anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to reach out," he added, wearing a sincere expression on his face.

"I might call you up on that in the near future, who knows?" said Xia Cangfu. "Now, let's not keep him waiting," he added as he led Yang Qing to Senior Shuyuan's location, where they found the elder intently reading through a scroll.

"Finally, you've come," Shuyuan said, slowly rolling up the scroll before turning his attention toward Yang Qing.

Yang Qing hadn't interacted with the elder for long, but even with his consistently taciturn tone and expression, he could tell that Elder Shuyuan seemed excited. He couldn't deny that a part of him felt the same.

"I have," Yang Qing replied with a smile.

"Some tea?" asked Elder Shuyuan, gesturing toward the pot on the table.

"Gladly," Yang Qing answered at once, taking the seat to his left.

"Cangfu, you're not busy, are you?" asked Elder Shuyuan. "You should join us, if you're not," he offered.

Xia Cangfu, who had prepared to leave after bringing Yang Qing over, had his eyes flash momentarily in surprise at the offer. Then he smiled gratefully as he replied.

"It would be my pleasure," he said, taking the seat to the elder's right.

They may not have known each other long, but as individuals cut from the same cloth, where their love for cultivation arts was concerned, it didn't take much for the trio to become deeply engrossed in conversation as they dissected various facets of cultivation arts and techniques.

Yang Qing may have been lower than them in terms of cultivation realm and even insights, but thankfully, the topic of conversation was something he was not only passionate about but also fairly gifted at. His experience as a creator, along with years of dabbling in all manner of techniques—including his purple grade art—helped him hold his own.

Not once did he feel lost or overwhelmed. He was like a fish in water, freely swimming through the depths of the conversation.

That said, even though he held his own, the two were still domain experts with vast experiences and insights that went far beyond what Yang Qing could compare to, no matter how gifted he was. Some things could only be bridged with time and experience, not talent alone.
