Daily life of a cultivation judge -
Chapter 1182 - 1182: False world; Complete World (2)
On the inside, just judging by size alone, it was almost as large as Yang Qing's entire abode, which spanned about ten acres. In terms of appearance, it looked just as otherworldly, like it housed a realm of its own, complete with grassy plains, scattered hills, a small river, and a few trees, much like Yang Qing's own domain.
About the only things that differentiated the two environments were the sky and the land. The sky in the nest was permanently night with its deep, rich violet sky filled with countless stars and swirling galaxies, which gave the feeling that the entire nest was floating in the skies. While on the land, it was covered by subtle waves of purple gold particles of light that gave it an even more ethereal charm, like it was some immortal's lair in the stars.
Those waves carried with them a faint, deep whisper, almost as if the universe itself was talking and revealing its deepest secrets and mysteries.
Aside from those distinctions, the nest's spiritual qi was five times denser than what Yang Qing's abode offered.
There was a reason that, despite all the quarrels he had with the celestial nesting weaver, Yang Qing still chose to cultivate and rest here. The environment was simply unmatched, and everything the eyes saw here was very much real.
This nest was, in essence, a mysterious realm birthed by the innate abilities of the celestial nesting weaver. The celestial nesting weaver didn't have the domineering looks and presence of a dragon or a phoenix; Yang Qing even unbiasedly felt that it was a disgrace to mythical races in terms of both looks, demeanor, and conduct. It didn't possess the destructive abilities or powerful bodies that those races were famed for, though its body was still plenty powerful. After all, it still had a reputation as a mythical race to uphold.
But what it did have—the one quality that granted it the status to sit at the same table as those mythical races—was its nest.
The nest was a complete world of its own, just like a mysterious realm. The difference was that its world was more complete and whole compared to a typical mysterious realm, thanks to its inherent abilities.
Despite its grandeur and abilities, the nest was still in its embryonic phase. Yet even so, in terms of stability and functionality, it was leagues ahead of most mysterious realms, which more often than not required countless resources and manpower to establish. Creating mysterious realms at the bare minimum needed the involvement of at least a late-stage domain expert or a soul formation expert with deep foundations in the powers of the Grand Dao. Others, especially those under the Order's control, required even more, like a saint-grade treasure and three soul formation experts to bring into existence.
Yet, the celestial nesting weaver was able to create its own mysterious realm all by itself, and it wasn't even a domain realm expert.
In certain circles, mysterious realms were known as "flawed worlds." The reason for that was while they looked and felt like the real world, there was something fundamentally off about them—something that great experts could easily sense. That flaw lay in the Dao laws and principles that governed them: they were incomplete.
They lacked the versatility and seamless interplay that Daos in the real world possessed. In the world, countless Daos intermingled in perfect harmony to form a stable, well-oiled, and fully functioning system with continuity and perpetual flow.
Mysterious realms didn't have that.
By design, a mysterious realm requires an anchor to keep it stable. That anchor is typically a precious treasure, which at the very least has to be a top-tier ascendant grade treasure, though the results were better if it was a saint grade treasure.
However, regardless of what treasure was used, such a realm would still be considered a flawed world, even if it was anchored by a saint-grade treasure. That was because the Dao laws and principles within it would primarily stem from that single treasure. And no matter how precious or profound the treasure might be, the power of the Grand Dao it could carry would be limited, which would be far less than what existed in the real world.
This phenomenon makes those realms not only limited in quantity, depth, but also in flexibility.
Say, for example, a saint-grade treasure used as an anchor was of the water attribute. The Daos that would dominate within that mysterious realm would naturally be those tied to the water element. Even then, it wouldn't encompass all water-related Daos, but rather only those connected to the specific path of that saint-grade treasure. This limitation directly impacted the ecosystem, influencing what could thrive within the realm.
This rigidity was a flaw nearly every mysterious realm suffered from, which left them too narrow and too limited in function. But the celestial nesting weaver's nest didn't suffer from that flaw. Its nest housed countless Daos across varied pathways, all seamlessly interacting with one another to form a stable, functioning system governed by the same laws and principles as the real world.
While the number and depth of Daos within the nest might fall short compared to the vastness of the outside world, due to the weaver's still-growing cultivation base, hence the nest being considered embryonic, it was still far more complete than any mysterious realm.
It was often said that everything under the heavens could be nurtured to growth within a celestial nesting weaver's nest, even the stars themselves. Yang Qing, though reluctant, wholeheartedly agreed with that sentiment, though he'd never admit it to that foul-tempered bird. Its embryonic nest had played a major role in helping him reach the palace realm as fast as he did, and even now, as a third-stage palace realm expert, he still continued to benefit immensely from cultivating here, thus, he could only imagine what it would be like in its complete form.
No place on the continent would be worthy of calling itself a blessed land of cultivation should that day ever arrive.
About the only misgiving Yang Qing had about the nest, other than its creator's nasty personality, of course, was the cost. He shuddered at the thought of how many resources it would have drained to reach that level.
Part of how the nest contained so many Daos, aside from the celestial nesting weaver's own understanding of the dao, was through breaking down the treasures Yang Qing provided. These treasures were dissolved into the purest essence of the Dao that composed them. This, yet again, was one of the celestial nesting weaver's innate abilities. Whether a naturally formed treasure or a crafted artifact, it could break them down to their purest forms and infuse that Dao essence into the nest.
Yang Qing knew he'd have to continue forking out more resources, though, admittedly, in terms of cost, it was much cheaper than what would be required for other mysterious realms. Still, he went pale at the thought of the resources that would be needed.
Even if the cost was somewhat lower, it still made his stomach churn with anxiety. He was a pauper with a stingy boss, and unlike other mysterious realms funded by entire organizations, he was a weak, poor palace realm expert funding this project solo. The celestial nesting weaver's hateful personality didn't help either, especially when it ruthlessly mocked him as it bled him dry.
Feeling a lump of blood and bile rising in his throat due to his looming financial crisis, Yang Qing quickly pushed those gloomy thoughts away, clearing his mind of all distractions before falling into deep meditation.
He was about to leave the comfort and safety of the Order's walls in a few hours and brave the unknowns beyond. He couldn't afford to be negligent—not in the slightest. Everything had to be primed, refined, and polished to perfection in preparation for that venture, especially his mind and spirit.
"Let there be no surprises," Yang Qing silently muttered as he let out a gentle exhale, a deep sense of tranquility enveloping his mind and spirit as he sank further into meditation.
As Yang Qing delved deeper into his meditation technique, the mist surrounding the fig tree parted slightly, revealing a pair of profound eyes that seemed to contain the entire cosmos within them.
When's that idiot going to reach the middle stages of the Palace Realm? His essence then should be enough to elevate the nest further... thought the celestial nesting weaver.
It stared intently at Yang Qing, the stars within its violet eyes swirling with a hidden radiance. After a few seconds, it closed its eyes once more as the mist enveloped it again.
Unbeknownst to Yang Qing, while the treasures he provided played a role in the nest's advancement, so did his presence, and that was the main reason the celestial nesting weaver tolerated him despite their constant scuffles. It needed the pure Yin-Yang essence carried by his unique physique, as well as the essence of Life born from his fruits of the Grand Dao.
How is he human? That was a question the celestial nesting weaver repeatedly asked itself every time it saw Yang Qing. If it hadn't confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was indeed human, it would have easily mistaken him for a being of a mythical race.
After all, how could a mere human contain powers related to two supreme laws?
