Chapter 729: Chapter 729: Don’t Startle the Snake by Hitting the Grass First
"No reason, anyway, apart from being at the 26th and 27th floors of Yanhuang Group and at home, you won’t be able to go anywhere else!"
Young Master Yan, adamant in his decisions, fiercely declared before flipping over and pressing Zhu Qianying beneath him...
So, they struggled like this for the majority of the night until, in the end, Zhu Qianying was so worn out she could hardly lift her pinky finger.
Young Master Yan, satisfied, held her in his arms; she was limp like water, softly kissing her silky hair.
"Baby, can we start work on your studio tomorrow?"
"Mmm..." At this point, Zhu Qianying would probably obediently say "Mmm" to anything, even giving away all her wealth to Young Master Yan.
Young Master Yan, pleased with her response, gently stroked her back, "Let’s sleep, tomorrow I’ll accompany you back to Yanhuang."
Young Master Yan was elated at the thought of being able to see her whenever he wanted, just a few dozen stairs and a turn away.
Half-asleep, Zhu Qianying vaguely felt like she had agreed to something. But she was both tired and sleepy, her mind a mess. Therefore, after agreeing, she nestles into his warm chest and closed her eyes to sleep.
...
The previous day, Young Master Yan and Ke Kai had submitted the video to the Central Police Station. According to the Chief of Police Department, a precise comparison would take at least a day.
The assault case involving their baby boy had already been shifted from the local police station to the L City Central Police Station.
As for the bank, they assured Yan Bo that they would give him a definitive answer in a day’s time.
Thus, early in the morning after breakfast, the father and son duo headed out the door.
The little boy, up early and having finished breakfast, heard that his grandfather and Daddy were heading out. He immediately hopped off his high chair wanting to send them off.
He knew Daddy had to go to work, he wasn’t curious as to why.
But things were different with Grandfather Yan, "Grandfather, aren’t you retired? Why are you heading out so early? Or is it that Daddy is so busy, that you have to help him out?"
The little guy cradling the briefcases of the two grown-ups while eying the elders bending down to put on their shoes was quite the scene.
Grandfather Yan laughed heartily at his grandson’s peculiar thought, "Of course Grandfather isn’t helping out, I’m just going to meet a friend for tea and a chat."
The little guy sneakily glanced at his Grandma sitting in living room, asking Grandfather Yan mysteriously, "Grandfather, won’t Grandma be upset if you go out to play on your own?"
Grandfather Yan reached out to pinch the boy’s cheek, but he dodged it by shrinking his head. Seeing this, Grandfather Yan chuckled, "Baby, you’re mistaken. It’s precisely because Grandma wants to spend more time baking with you that she suggested I go out. If you don’t believe me, go ask her."
Half-believing, the boy hesitated before actually running back to the living room to cross-check.
"Grandma, is it true that Grandfather didn’t ditch you to go have fun on his own?"
Standing at the entrance, Grandfather Yan turned to Young Master Yan and chuckled, "Looks like we’re living in a matriarchal household."
Young Master Yan straightened himself, completely nonchalant, "Not to worry, it’s not just us."
Grandfather Yan raised an eyebrow, "Which other family is like this?"
"Uncle Ji’s family!"
Grandfather Yan thought about it, couldn’t help but nod in agreement, "Well, indeed it seems so!"
As the two grandpas were chatting, the little boy returned, short of breath. He passed them their briefcases, his chubby hand waving them goodbye.
"Daddy, Grandfather, Bye-bye!"
Young Master Yan scooped him up, bent down his face, indicating for him to give him a kiss.
The little boy gave him a peck, waving his chubby hand as he cheerfully said, "Bye-bye! Come back early tonight..."
At midday, after the boy and Zhu Qianying both took their naps, she wakes up to the familiar warmth of lips pressed against hers, that touch and familiar breath roused her from sleep.
She groggily opened her eyes, meeting Young Master Yan’s gaze full of expectation.
Zhu Qianying knit her brows slightly, just as she was about to scold Young Master Yan for waking her, he spoke first.
"Qianying, wake up, we’ve made some progress."
Zhu Qianying suddenly woke up fully. She washed up quickly and followed Young Master Yan to the study.
In the study, Grandfather Yan and his wife were both there, their expressions serious.
Young Master Yan asked Zhu Qianying to sit down first, before sitting down next to her.
"Mum, Qianying, the police have basically pinned down the suspect. However, the suspect is cunning and it’s best we do not make any moves yet in fear of alerting them before we have critical evidence."
They talked for more than an hour in the study, eventually deciding that unless their son’s memory suddenly returns, fully recounting the events of that day, and the perpetrator is identified, they can only follow the police’s advice and keep things quiet.
"Alright, let our son continue observing leave and you resume work from tomorrow. Grandpa and Grandma will take care of him, don’t worry."
Zhu Qianying, as the mother, was more eager than anyone to expose the culprit. However, she also understood the importance of patience at this critical juncture.
"Qianying, you should also be busy with the studio work. Your Dad and I can take care of our son."
Grandma Yan voluntarily took the responsibility, reminding Zhu Qianying that Young Master Yan mentioned about the studio yesterday.
Zhu Qianying suddenly remembered something about meeting the design company at Yanhuang, although she wasn’t sure if that was a dream or reality. Hence, she turned to Young Master Yan for confirmation.
Young Master Yan nodding confirmed her question, "Yes, they’ll be there at three in the afternoon. It’s just the right time for us to head back now."
Thus, Zhu Qianying and Young Master Yan returned to Yanhuang Group together to discuss the design and structure of the studio, while Grandfather Yan and Grandma Yan stayed home.
Zhu Qianying, together with the design company personnel, were discussing details about the design of the exhibition room. While Yan didn’t quite have the understanding nor interest in these matters.
Even so, he stayed with Zhu Qianying, listening to her discussing professional terms with the designer, he might not understand but he didn’t find it boring.
"Young Master Yan, you can go ahead with your work. I’ll discuss the design and structure of the exhibition hall with Mr. Deng in detail."
Young Master Yan stood up to leave the reception room. After a while, however, he returned carrying his laptop.
"I’ll do my thing; you guys can continue with yours!"
"Young Master Yan, always keeping a close eye!"
Having previous acquaintances with Young Master Yan, Mr. Deng kept the joke casual.
"Of course!"
Young Master Yan wholeheartedly admitted it, making Zhu Qianying feel a bit embarrassed.
