Zhu Qianying held her breath as she descended to the point where she could see under the boulder. She first closed her eyes, took a deep breath, said a silent prayer in her heart, and then opened her eyes.

However, the depression beneath the boulder was deep and dimly lit. Zhu Qianying leaned over the strong rope, squinted to look in, but only saw a blur of black.

"Baby boy, baby boy, are you here? Can you hear mommy’s voice? Baby boy!" Zhu Qianying shouted into the hole. She didn’t have any tools to search, not even a torch for illumination.

All she could do was to shout into the hole.

The waterfall’s cascade from above hits the surface of the pool with a sound like thunder, hence, Zhu Qianying’s shouts were completely drowned by the sound of the gushing water.

Zhu Qianying understood that shouting was futile after a few cries. She straightened up, clung to the rock wall like a gecko, and looked up at Yan Shao who was just a few dozen centimeters above her.

Although Yan Shao had agreed to let her go down and take a look, he insisted on not letting her carry the rescue kit when coming down from the stand. After all, the items in the bag weighed at least ten to twenty pounds. It was a big burden even for a strong man, let alone for her.

"Is there a torch in the bag?"

Zhu Qianying looked up and asked Yan Shao loudly.

"There should be one!" Yan Shao replied as he slid down to the level of the rock face.

Yan Shao moved closer to her, clinging to a protrusion on the rock face with one hand, and pushing the bag towards Zhu Qianying with the other. He was not certain about the exact location of the rescue items, but Zhu Qianying might know.

Zhu Qianying didn’t hesitate. She swiftly took out the torch from the front pocket and was about to lean over again to shine it when Yan Shao snatched the torch from her hand.

"I’ll do it, you be careful, hold on tight to the rope."

But Zhu Qianying was extremely anxious, how could she obediently listen to Yan Shao’s words?

She didn’t snatch the torch back, but she slid down slowly with Yan Shao until her body left the rock face, hanging in mid-air between the bottom of the boulder and the water’s surface, entirely dependent on the rope tied around her waist.

Yan Shao had no choice but to reach out and embrace her, "Baby, be careful!"

Zhu Qianying nodded and gestured for him to turn on the torch quickly to see what was beneath the rock wall.

The torchlight slowly travelled from left to right in a clockwise direction along the wall of the cliff. The indentation in the cliff was rough and irregularly shaped, revealing a semicircular outline in the beam of the torch.

The beam had already swept over most of the semicircle, but so far, they only saw the picture of the water hitting the rock face and did not see any foreign objects or oddities.

The glimmer of hope that Zhu Qianying had ignited was gradually dimming and weakening.

"I’ll go underwater and take a look..." Zhu Qianying couldn’t hold back her urgency. She felt that maybe the torchlight wasn’t strong enough, so the view wasn’t very clear. She had to personally swim over and take a look to be satisfied.

"Hold on, Ying’er!" Yan Shao reached out and pulled her. They swayed a few times in mid-air and the light of the torch flickered wildly on the water surface beneath the rock face.

Her eyes were sharp. She seemed to have seen a shadow on the rock face when the torchlight shone on it just now.

Yesterday morning, the baby boy had been wearing an orange-red outfit when he went out.

Yan Shao held onto the rope with one hand to stabilize himself, and then moved the torch towards the place Zhu Qianying was pointing at.

The indentation in the rock face was extremely deep. The torch was a powerful projector type, but when it shone into it, the light still appeared weak.

After he gave the instructions, he put the phone back into the waterproof case and back into his bag. Then he loosened the rope and jumped into the water following Zhu Qianying.

The indentation in the rock face was deep. Zhu Qianying stroked vigorously with her arms. Even though her body was soaking in icy cold water, her heart felt as if it was being tormented on fire.

Finally, she barely noticed the orange-red color. It seemed to stick to the rock face, resembling the silhouette of a person’s head drooping down.

"Baby boy!" Even though Zhu Qianying knew she should conserve her energy at this point, she couldn’t hold back and shouted.

The shadow by the rock wall remained motionless.

Nonetheless, Zhu Qianying increased the frequency of her strokes. Yan Shao who was following behind her had almost caught up to her due to his tall and long limbs. He had fixed the torch on his head and gradually adjusted the angle of his head to accurately direct the beam of the torch onto the shadow with the orange-red light on the rock face.

Zhu Qianying, who was ahead, clearly saw that the figure stuck to the rock wall was indeed a person. Even Yan Shao saw clearly that it was a person, who seemed to be of similar height as their son. The person was immersed waist-deep in the water, head drooping down, one hand dangling by his side, and his face turned slightly inward, so they could not see his face clearly.

But judging by his clothes and height, they could fairly conclude with certainty that it was their son.

Yan Shao couldn’t quite describe his feelings at the moment. All he knew was that his eyes were suddenly blurred.

He took a deep breath and shouted, "Stay strong, son! Mommy and Daddy are here to rescue you!"

After he shouted, he swam faster to catch up with Zhu Qianying.

Zhu Qianying had also confirmed that the figure stuck to the rock face was indeed her son.

Seeing Yan Shao catching up, and aware that she couldn’t keep up with his speed, she urged him, her voice trembling, "You go ahead and save our boy, don’t worry about me..."
