In fact, Zhu Qianying enjoyed a great deal of freedom in her work. In particular, Cheng Ye never plied her with strict demands about her working hours.

"No, I have some personal matters to attend to," she replied.

"Okay, do you need any help with it?"

"No, thank you! I’m sorry about the task you’d delegated to me at the headquarters, it seems that you’ll have to entrust it to someone else now," she replied.

Zhu Qianying was a very responsible person, and Cheng Ye was well aware of this. As such, he’d continuously been piling her with responsibilities in an attempt to bind and constrain her.

He was aware that, at least emotionally, he was losing to Yan Han for now. Consequently, he wanted to hold Zhu Qianying by his side through other means.

And Cheng Ye, clearly, had also caught up on her mental state.

"Alright, you focus on your tasks. I’ll take care of the business at the store," he says.

After requesting her leaves, Zhu Qianying started helping out at the store. During lunchtime, Yan Han, who should be quite busy, dropped by the store.

From today onwards, Bai Shao won’t be helping out at the store since she needs to prepare for her new job.

Yan Han’s words actually had three implications.

He not only sarcastically referred to Yi Wei’s foolishness but also suggested that he understood Zhu Qianying’s current thoughts, as well as the motives and changes of Wang Wenjie in the whole matter.

And Zhu Qianying, of course, understood him.

"Rest assured, Wang Wenjie is not stupid. He won’t become my enemy for a foolish person he’s never really had," Yan Han assured her.

Yan Han’s words were not without basis. Since Wang Wenjie announced his disassociation from the Yi family both personally and publicly, the Wang family had been continually sending friendly messages to him.

However, Yan Han has not yet responded to these overtures.

"Yes, most often, women tend to be the foolish ones," commented Zhu Qianying.

Zhu Qianying’s lament was not out of sympathy for Yi Wei.

It was because Yi Wei’s matters reminded her of her own mother, Bai Shao, and even herself.

Yan Han put down his bowl, leaned in and planted a kiss on her lips.

"Even if you’re a bit silly, it doesn’t matter because your husband is smart!"

Zhu Qianying disdainfully used the back of her hand to wipe off the grease left on her lips. The outcome of him kissing her without wiping his mouth after drinking the soup.

"Mr. Yan the elder, are you indirectly calling me silly?" she asked.

Yan Han cleaned his mouth with a tissue, pulled out another piece and wiped off the grease from her hand.

"What do you think?" he teased.

Who would admit to being foolish when they’re being called so?

"Whether I’m foolish or not doesn’t matter. I have so much money that I won’t be able to spend it all in several lifetimes. Even if I were a fool, I’d be a rich and happy one."

Yan Han looked at her with a smile, "Did you read all the documents?"

He was obviously referring to the documents about all his assets.

He knew that she would read over them bit by bit.

"I read some of them. But, Yan, you’re richer than I imagined. You know, now I share the same condition as our baby boy."

Yan Han looked at her with curiosity, "What condition?"

"Now when I’m out on the road, whenever I see a tall building or a shop, I can’t help but think, and then I mutter to myself, ’Yeah, that’s also mine because my husband owns it!’"
