Chapter 431: Having a Little Baby?

Chapter 431: Chapter 431: Having a Little Baby?

"Baby, do you really like having brothers and sisters?"

At this question, their little boy’s face lit up with even more excitement than before, "Of course!"

A sense of dread washed over Zhu Qianying.

As she feared, the next moment, she heard Yan say, "Then Mommy and Daddy can give you a little brother or sister, too. Is that okay?"

As he spoke, Yan glanced towards Zhu Qianying with a playful smile in his eyes.

Their little boy was visibly thrilled. However, his excitement faded as suddenly as it had come.

Then, he cautiously cupped Zhu Qianying’s face and carefully asked, "Mommy, can we?"

The little boy was indeed smart. He understood that the decision to have another baby rested with Mommy, not Daddy, and certainly not with him.

Perhaps, he knew he could influence this decision, but he wasn’t willing to force Mommy into anything.

Zhu Qianying glared at Yan before turning to their son, whose face was filled with anticipation, and responded seriously.

"Can Mommy think it over first?"

Upon hearing her words, their little boy let out a sigh of relief. Zhu Qianying’s cagey reply also eased Yan’s mind.

It was the first time since Zhu Qianying’s return that she had given an ambiguous answer about their relationship.

Before, she had always adamantly rejected Yan’s advances.

But now, it was clear that Zhu Qianying was beginning to loosen up.

In reality, Yan had noticed a change in Zhu Qianying’s attitude and spirit since she was hurt. However, it was the first time she had articulated her feelings so clearly.

He was delighted, of course.

The sting of defeat he felt from the Ji Family baby earlier evaporated instantly!

"Sounds good! You take your time, Mommy. The baby in Auntie’s tummy will be here soon anyway...."

Their little boy’s remark almost choked Yan with frustration.

His prior feelings of disappointment quickly returned.

He wanted to shake their young master by the shoulders and explain, "Our baby is different from Auntie’s, who will be a Ji!"

However, if he were to say that out loud, his ulterior motives would be fully exposed.

Although Zhu Qianying, being smart as she was, might already see through his schemes, she hadn’t actually confronted him about it. As long as she didn’t, he could keep pretending to be oblivious.

Zhu Qianying saw the inner turmoil Yan was experiencing and was immensely amused. She glanced at him and said to their son with a chuckle, "That’s right, there’s no rush. Auntie’s baby still needs you to help take care of it!"

Swayed by Zhu Qianying, their little boy turned to Yan and said earnestly, "Daddy, don’t rush! Wait until I’ve taken care of Auntie’s baby, then we can get a little brother or sister. Okay?"

Fuck!

Yan could not help but curse inwardly, however, outwardly he maintained his composure.

"Little boy, don’t you know Beibei’s brother and Guoguo’s sister will take care of Auntie’s baby? Actually, you can help take care of our baby too," he said.

Shaking his head vigorously, the little boy replied, "No, Daddy, you don’t understand!"

Yan was torn between laughter and tears. What could this toddler know that an accomplished adult man like him did not?

"What don’t I understand?"

The little boy responded with all seriousness, "Daddy, babies can get jealous too..."

Well, Yan had to admit, the jealousy of babies was certainly something he, a business-minded adult, truly didn’t understand.

Zhu Qianying watched as Yan was outwitted by their son and laughed without offering any help or rescue. She didn’t even have the sympathy to offer a band-aid to his wounded pride.

He’d been scheming her all along, hadn’t he?

Only letting their son mildly tease him this once was already merciful!

For the usually eloquent Yan to be at a loss for words because of a four-year-old was both humiliating and humorous. If word got out, it would certainly send people into fits of laughter.

Drowning in frustration and embarrassment, Yan didn’t feel like talking anymore.

"Young Master, where should we go now?"

Having been driving around the villa area for quite a while without any clear instruction, their driver finally gathered the courage to ask.

The matter with Qin Xiu could wait. But the opportunity here wouldn’t always be available. It was crucial to seize the moment while Zhu Qianying was open to it.

"Yeah, let’s take a look first, so that our son won’t keep thinking about it," Zhu Qianying replied, never forgetting her responsibility despite the jokes.

Since she had agreed to take a look, there was no need for further hesitation.

Yan heaved a sigh of relief. However, he managed to maintain a calm expression despite his inner turmoil.

"Alright, let’s start by looking at our house!"

He emphasized the word "our" heavily.

After spending some time together, Zhu Qianying had formed a new understanding of Yan.

She knew beneath his casual facade, his heart was likely skipping with the same excitement as their son.

After a few minutes’ drive, they stopped in front of a white-gated villa.

The doorman approached and upon recognizing Yan, anxiously greeted him. Then he rushed back and opened the gate.

"Wow, it’s so pretty!"

As soon as the gate opened and they drove in, their son shouted excitedly.

"Were these two palm trees transplanted later?" Zhu Qianying pointed to two palm trees on either side of the gate and asked.

"No. When the designer was working on this place, they tried to preserve as many of the original plants and landscapes as possible. The trees were kept and just slightly rearranged," Yan shared.

Zhu Qianying was taken aback, "So, does that mean each villa here has a different landscape?"

When they entered, Zhu Qianying hadn’t noticed this. Now, as Yan explained, she realized that although the villas seemed similar, each had something unique about it.

Did the gardens have different designs?

"Yes. The sales concept of this sea-view residence community was to provide a unique and personalized environment for ’you’," Yan confirmed.

By ’you’, Yan was not specifically referring to Zhu Qianying. He was referring to the general clientele of the sea-view residence.

"Daddy, can I get out and walk around?" their son interjected, his thoughts always more straightforward than adults.

He found the place beautiful and wanted to explore it at his own pace, taking in every detail.

His curiosity and love for this place far exceeded Yan’s expectations. Yan immediately instructed the driver to stop the car.

The moment the car stopped and the door opened, their son bounded out.

"It seems our boy really loves it here," Zhu Qianying said to Yan as she got out of the car herself.
