Chapter 407: Chapter 407 Mommy is not in pain!
The driver sped off towards the conference venue, and Qin Xiu seized this opportunity to give a brief report about the crucial matters over the past few days. Then, he handed Yan Eldest Young Master a thick stack of documents.
"Sir, these are the documents you will need for the meeting. You should take a look," he said.
Yan Eldest Young Master flipped through the stack casually before closing it.
"I’ve read it already!"
Qin Xiu was surprised. He had thought that his boss would be too engrossed with his wife and his son’s trip to care about work.
"You sent it to my email last night, and I read it on the flight," Yan Eldest Young Master explained. He seemed to have sensed Qin Xiu’s astonishment and gave a rare explanation.
"I thought I would have to take on all this responsibility alone," Qin Xiu muttered, expressing his worries lingering from the past several days.
Yan Eldest Young Master gave him a brief glance, "Well, I’d like that, but Ying’er isn’t that kind of person."
Indeed. If Zhu Qianying asked him to travel with her around the world, he would be more than happy to do so. Unfortunately, even if taking care of their precious son was not taken into consideration, Zhu Qianying wouldn’t want him to accompany her on a day trip around L City, let alone traveling around the world.
Sensing his boss’s gloom, Qin Xiu, who had perceived himself as the unfortunate one, couldn’t help but feel pity for his boss.
Halfway to their destination, Yan Eldest Young Master received a call from Ke Kai.
"Sir, Zhu Junwei is leaving the hospital today, and Zhu Junzhao’s trial is scheduled to begin in the middle of next month."
During the few days when Yan Eldest Young Master went abroad with his son, the Mingxuan Group’s hotels in L City that had been sealed off had completed their preparations and resumed regular business.
However, the business was seriously affected and would not recover for quite some time.
As for the Zhu Family, it seemed that they had turned this crisis into a new opportunity. Although they had suffered significant losses, they had managed to save Mingxuan and Zhu Junwei.
"Hmm, have someone keep a close eye on Zhu Junwei."
Zhu Junwei had become a thorn in Yan Eldest Young Master’s side, but he would not tarnish his reputation over Zhu Junwei. After all, he was a legitimate businessman now.
Besides, no matter how bad Zhu Junwei was, he was still Zhu Qianying’s brother. Without her approval, Yan Eldest Young Master would never risk harm to him.
His tactics used on the Tong Family, truth be told, he didn’t want Zhu Qianying to see them.
Furthermore, now that they had their son, he hoped even more for a clean and safe environment for mother and child.
However, his wish remained only a wish. He understood quite clearly that even though he didn’t want it, a huge storm was still brewing in the dark.
"Understood, sir. The Eldest Young Master of the Wang Family in D City has been restless in the past few days. Shall we send someone to warn him?"
Yan Eldest Young Master responded instantly without a thought, "Let him make a fool of himself!"
Despite having been overseas recently, Yan Eldest Young Master had been closely monitoring domestic affairs.
Yi Wei had been stubborn; to this day, she still hadn’t agreed to an engagement with the Eldest Young Master of the Wang Family. This caused the Wang Family to grow anxious, hence they were eager to make a statement.
Yan Eldest Young Master had no interest in breaking up other people’s matrimonial bliss. Since the Eldest Young Master of the Wang family wanted to make a display, he would let him do so.
The industry conference, as expected, was dull and boring. If Yan Eldest Young Master weren’t the chairman of the industry and couldn’t absent himself, he would’ve handed over the work to Qin Xiu and gotten on with his own thing.
Generally, no matter how boring such a conference was, Yan Eldest Young Master would stick it out until the end. However, not long after he finished his speech, he received a call from his driver.
"Sir, I’ve been involved in a car accident!"
The caller was the very driver from the Yan Family who had gone to the airport to pick up Zhu Qianying and her son.
On hearing this, Yan Eldest Young Master abruptly stood up from his seat, startling Qin Xiu.
Fortunately, Yan Eldest Young Master remembered that he was at a conference. He quietly asked, "Are Ying’er and our son alright?" before quickly getting up, holding the phone and making his way to the corridor outside.
"The baby is fine, the young lady has some minor external injuries. I am currently at the scene, the young lady and the baby have been taken to the hospital by Ke Kai’s people."
Yan Eldest Young Master listened to the driver with a frown. Knowing that Zhu Qianying only had minor exterior injuries, he heaved a slight sigh of relief.
After instructing the driver to stay at the scene and figure out what happened, he hung up the call.
Just as he hung up, Zhu Qianying’s call came through.
"Yan Eldest Young Master, my son and I are fine, you don’t need to worry."
Zhu Qianying was still in a state of shock. Honestly, if she had been the only one in the car, she might not have been as scared. But with her son in the car, her fear had increased exponentially.
Originally, after hearing that Zhu Qianying and their son were fine, Yan Eldest Young Master had planned to return to the conference. After all, he trusted that Ke Kai’s people would ensure their safety.
However, upon hearing Zhu Qianying’s voice, he immediately changed his mind.
"Ying’er, let me know which hospital you guys are going to, I will get there as soon as I can."
Zhu Qianying on the other end of the phone obviously knew that he was attending a very important meeting. Hence, she insisted that she was fine and told him that there was no need for him to hurry over.
Yet Yan Eldest Young Master was adamant. After learning the name of the hospital, he went back to the conference venue to brief Qin Xiu before hastily leaving.
As for how to clean up the resulting mess, he trusted that his capable assistant could handle it.
As for him, of course, comforting his wife and son was the most important!
By the time he arrived at the hospital, Zhu Qianying was in a specialty clinic having her wounds attended to.
"Ying’er..."
Zhu Qianying turned to look at him, "You’re here?"
Just as he was about to ask something, he saw the long, gory wound on her arm.
"Didn’t they say it’s only minor exterior wounds?"
Yan Eldest Young Master rushed over, his tone changing dramatically!
Yan Eldest Young Master’s son, who was hugging tightly onto Zhu Qianying, saw Yan Eldest Young Master and immediately leaped into his arms, "Daddy, I’m scared!"
Holding his trembling son in one arm, Yan Eldest Young Master looked down at the little boy, seeing that his usually brave son was now full of tear stains, with swollen eyes from crying.
"It’s alright, Daddy’s here," Yan Eldest Young Master comforted his son by patting his back.
"Mommy’s in pain!" Their son turned his head and looked at Zhu Qianying’s gory wound sorrowfully.
"Baby, Mommy’s not in pain! Really!"
Zhu Qianying managed to muster a forced smile at their son. Everyone knows with such a severe wound, how could it possibly not hurt?
Yan Eldest Young Master wanted to take their son out of the clinic, fearing that he wouldn’t be able to handle it.
However, their son insisted on staying with Zhu Qianying. After the doctor reassured Yan Eldest Young Master that Zhu Qianying’s injury might look serious but wasn’t really that bad, Yan Eldest Young Master stepped out into the corridor.
Soon, Yan Eldest Young Master learned from his men who had taken Zhu Qianying and their son to the hospital that the car had flipped over. The window hit a metal railing on the side, which happened to be where their son was sitting. Zhu Qianying instinctively stretched out her hand to pull their son into her arms.
Their son was sheltered safely in her arms, without a scratch on him. However, her arm was torn open by the shattered window glass.
Thankfully, the bones were not hurt. Even though the wound appeared horrifying, it indeed was just a minor external injury.
