Chapter 384: The Loving Duo of Grandpas
Chapter 384: Chapter 384: The Loving Duo of Grandpas
"If I heard correctly, just now I heard someone say that this matter should not be let off easily. Someone’s son actually dared to overturn a food tray on your beloved child, it’s like they’ve got a death wish!"
"Mr. Yan...this incident is a misunderstanding..." Luo Tian’s father continued to try to explain.
But Yan ignored him because the driver had just brought the food back.
"Baby boy, go have your meal first. Daddy and Principal Fang will have a good talk!" It distressed Yan than his son had to go hungry because he had knocked food onto someone else.
The little one’s eyes lit up at the sight of the driver bringing in a large bag of food. He gave Yan’s arm a waggle and then nodded obediently.
"Thank you, Daddy!"
Whether he was thanking his dad for backing him up or for buying him so much delicious food, only he knew.
Yan gave him a little spank on the bottom, indicating him to move along. His gaze followed him until he saw him sit properly, take the chopsticks from the driver, quickly open the lunch box and gobble down two large mouthfuls of rice. Only then did Yan turn around and address the principal.
"Principal Fang, you would have handled quite a few such incidents. What do you think is the best way to resolve this?"
Principal Fang would rather have Yan put forth a solution than be stuck in the middle.
But now, the matter had landed at his feet, and he did not dare to kick it back to Yan.
"Why don’t we do this then - The medical bills of Luo Tian would be paid by Mr. Yan. And then, student Luo Tian will formally apologize to Yan Xu in a school assembly. As for Luo Tian’s mother, she will apologize in the L City Daily paper. Would this be acceptable to you, Mr. Yan?"
Principal Fang didn’t bother asking for the agreement of Luo Tian’s parents. After all, it was clear to everyone that Luo Tian was at fault. And he had messed with Yan, a man of significant influence. There would definitely be repercussions to face.
"Apologize in the newspaper?" Luo Tian’s mother seemed to find this very embarrassing and questioned loudly.
Before her husband could cover for her, Yan casually glanced at her and replied with a smile.
"I also feel that an apology in the newspaper lacks sincerity. How about airing an apology video during prime time on L TV. It should be played once in the morning, afternoon and evening each, for a week, totaling to twenty-one times. Also, an apology should be published on the cover page of the ’Fashion Royalty’ magazine for a week!"
’Fashion Royalty’ was a company owned by the Wang Family of D City. Yan’s plan was not only about making Luo Tian’s mother lose face but something more!
Luo Tian’s mother looked flabbergasted, and just as she was about to say something her husband quickly covered her mouth!
...
That afternoon, Yan came to pick his son from school himself. As soon as the little guy spotted him from a distance, he joyfully ran towards him, waving his small backpack.
"Daddy!" His loud and clear call made Yan feel all warm inside!
Yan bent down to pick the little guy, pinching his cheeds, he asked, "Has Luo Tian apologized to you?"
The little guy nodded vigorously, "Mmm! He has apologized and even bowed his head. Thank you, Daddy!"
With that, he puckered up and planted a kiss on Yan’s face.
Yan was over the moon. He lifted the child under his armpits and placed him on his shoulders.
This was the first time the little guy had ridden on someone’s shoulders!
He was so happy that he laughed out loud, his hands circling around Yan’s head, shouting in delight.
"Daddy, run fast!"
Yan, who usually maintains his dignified persona, started running around at the request of the little one, sending him into fits of laughter.
The happy grandfather and grandson duo ran to the parking lot like mad men. The bodyguards ran behind them, cursing under their breath, "Damn, this is insane. Are we trying to get ourselves killed?"
L City had recently been experiencing unrest; be it Uncle Hai or Ke Kai, everyone was extremely cautious about the Yan Family’s safety. Yan, however, was doing such conspicuous things right in the public. Was he really trying to draw attention to himself and his son?
The bodyguards followed their two masters anxiously. They sighed in relief only after seeing Yan put the laughing little master in the car’s back seat.
The little boy was in the back seat, holding his stomach and chuckling. It took him a while to stop laughing. Once Yan had settled down and started the car, he climbed onto Yan’s lap and cuddled up to him, reaching a hand up to touch Yan’s stubbled chin.
"Daddy, just now baby boy was so high..."
Yan grabbed his little hand and put it in his mouth, playfully biting it, "How high?". It seemed as though Yan’s mysophobia had improved now.
The baby boy tilted his head and thought, raising the other hand to measure a height, "As tall as that Uncle Yao who plays basketball!"
Yan calculated his own height plus half the height of his son, and indeed, it was roughly the height of the ’Uncle Yao’ the child had mentioned.
"Really? Next time, we’ll just like this and have a friendly match with Uncle Ji and others?"
Upon hearing this, the child’s eyes lit up, "Yes, yes, let Beibei also sit on Uncle Ji’s shoulder! We’ll have a basketball shooting contest!"
The two of them had many similar hobbies, but due to the boy’s initial bias and misconceptions about Yan, they seemed to never find a common topic.
Now, with their biases set aside, they found they a lot to talk about. Especially the little boy, who barely stopped talking the entire journey back home from school.
Yan, on the other hand, was happily cuddling him, occasionally commenting, or rubbing his back or patting his head. Their relationship seemed to have improved greatly within a short period of time.
In the morning, the little guy refused to even call him ’Dad’. But just a few hours later, he was happily hanging onto him and calling out ’Daddy’ nonstop.
As the car pulled into the Yan family’s garden, the little boy suddenly sat up straight and looked at Yan seriously.
"Daddy, don’t tell Mommy about what happened today!"
Yan nodded as he had no intentions of telling Zhu Qianying about the day’s events in the first place.
She had always been worried that her son would get hurt by the rumors. If she found out about what had happened, she would definitely blame herself.
"Mommy will be heartbroken when she hears those words!"
Yan originally thought that the little guy wanted to keep Zhu Qianying in the dark because he was afraid she would chastise him for overturning the food tray on someone else.
However, it turned out that he was worried Zhu Qianying would be saddened by those rumors.
It seemed that this mother and son pair truly shared a deep connection!
"Alright, Daddy won’t say a sound. But, were you upset when you heard what Luo Tian said?"
Yan was curious to know whether his son’s happiness was genuine or an act!
The little guy shook his head vehemently without even thinking, "I was just angry, not upset!"
Yan grew even more curious. However before he had a chance to ask, the boy interjected, "Because baby boy knows that Daddy, Mommy and Auntie and Uncle are all the same!"
