Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Just Married In Name Only
The little young master didn’t care what was going on in adult minds. After Yan Han picked him up, he comfortably settled in Yan Han’s arms, took a pair of chopsticks, and with cups and bowls arranged in front of him, began to tap on them.
As he tapped, he also hummed a melodyless tune.
Zhu Qianying looked at the little traitor in his aloof demeanor, completely disinterested in worldly matters. Remembering his words "Daddy said...", she was so angry she just wanted to shake his little face.
Yan Han glanced at Zhu Qianying and then at the iPad placed horizontally in front of Zhu Qianying and Cheng Ye. "Mr. Cheng, are you thinking of renting a shop or buying one?"
In L City, shops of all sizes occupied the bustling areas all over the city. Any of those could very likely have been developed by the Yanhuang Group, available for purchase or lease.
Cheng Ye was also aware of this. Interestingly, ninety percent of his initial choices were properties of the Yanhuang Group.
Zhu Qianying, although unaware that the locations Cheng Ye had picked were mostly Yanhuang Group’s, understood that the majority of the residential shops in L City were the properties of Yan Han here. With Yan Han’s question, interpreted in a good way, he was offering help, otherwise, he was showing off.
Worried that Cheng Ye would overthink, Zhu Qianying turned the iPad face down on the table. "Boss, I’m starving. Can we discuss what we’re eating first?"
Could Yan Han not understand? Wasn’t she trying to save Cheng Ye from an awkward situation?
"Drinking cold water again? Is your stomachache back?" Saying this, Yan Han reached for the glass of cold water she just asked her son to bring back and placed it away on the table.
Cheng Ye carefully looked at Zhu Qianying, "Ying Zi, do you have a cough, or is it a stomachache?"
Three men in the private room looked at Zhu Qianying simultaneously. She naturally couldn’t embarrass her son and Yan Han, so she had to admit, "I have a bit of a cough, and a bit of a stomachache..."
The truth was, she had neither a cough nor a stomachache.
She had a headache...
"Mommy, you’re working too hard. How about, I give you all my red envelopes, and you take a break!"
The little boy said worryingly, taking out the red envelopes he just put in his pocket, and gave them to Zhu Qianying.
"Ying Zi, are you overworked? If it is too much, you should hire a couple of assistants here!"
Zhu Qianying had an assistant in M country. But now that she has returned home permanently, her assistant couldn’t possibly immigrate with her.
"The workload is actually not big, let’s discuss the assistant matter later!" Zhu Qianying vaguely replied.
Yan Han poured himself a cup of tea and took a sip. Then, he casually said.
"Mr. Cheng, don’t blame me and my son for being nervous. It’s just because Ying’er has been in a delicate condition lately..."
Zhu Qianying faintly remembered Yan Han saying something similar. Soon, she recalled that on their wedding day, when Yan Han took her back to the Yan family, Yan Han used the same excuse to save her from having to kneel down and serve tea to his grandfather.
But the situation then was not the same as now!
"Special?"
Cheng Ye’s face changed slightly, unconsciously looking at her stomach. Obviously, his thoughts were misled by Yan Han.
Zhu Qianying laughed awkwardly and gave Yan Han a glance before answering Cheng Ye, "Didn’t I just say it’s a bit of a cough, plus stomachache?"
Cheng Ye looked at her suspiciously, making Zhu Qianying quickly grab her son and put him down on the ground.
Patting the little boy’s head, she asked, "Baby boy, why don’t you go with Uncle Cheng and see what kind of seafood to get?"
For most of the time, the little boy was compliant with Zhu Qianying’s instructions. Having been given the command, he obediently dragged Cheng Ye to the seafood stall to see what was tasty.
Only Zhu Qianying and Yan Han were left in the private room.
"Yan Han, what do you mean?"
Zhu Qianying was actually furious, but as she asked, she felt a sense of helplessness.
Indeed, facing Yan Han, she often felt helpless. It was true then, and still now.
However, Yan Han seemed not to hear her question and extended his hand to pat her head but was deflected by her slight turn of the head.
"Really feeling uncomfortable?" Yan Han asked with concern.
Zhu Qianying nodded seriously, "Yes, I have a headache!"
Yan Han looked at her steadily, "I have a headache too!"
Obviously, Yan Han understood what Zhu Qianying’s headache meant, and likewise, Zhu Qianying understood what his headache meant.
Zhu Qianying rubbed her forehead helplessly, and after a moment, she took a deep breath and said to Yan Han.
"Yan Han, have you forgotten that we’re only a couple in name?"
"I haven’t forgotten!"
As they continued to converse, neither noticed that Cheng Ye had returned after forgetting his phone, heard their brief conversation, quietly closed the door and left.
"Baby boy, do you live at Daddy’s house or Mommy’s house?" Cheng Ye asked casually while he was holding the boy and scooping shrimps from the fish pool.
Zhu Qianying bought a house in L City shortly after returning, which Cheng Ye knew. But he always thought that the house belonged to Chen Jing alone.
However, from the couple’s recent conversation, it was obvious that the house was not just Chen Jing’s.
The little boy didn’t even think about it and answered while netting shrimps, "Sometimes I live at Daddy’s house, and sometimes at Mommy’s house."
Cheng Ye remained silent, just patting his head, quietly holding the small boy, watching him catch shrimps and crabs from the pool...
About ten minutes later, Cheng Ye returned to their private room with the boy. As soon as they entered, the boy shouted excitedly at Zhu Qianying.
"Mommy, look! I caught a little shrimp!"
Cheng Ye handed the boy back to Zhu Qianying with a smile. The little boy held his hands under Zhu Qianying’s eyes. His wet hands were closed together, with water droplets still dripping from between his fingers.
"Is it a cooked shrimp?" Zhu Qianying knowingly asked.
"Hehe, Mommy you’ve guessed wrong, it’s a live one!"
With that, the boy opened his hands and in the hollow of his hand, there was a little shrimp, roughly the size of his little finger, frantically jumping around.
"Put it in the cup!"
Zhu Qianying handed a glass cup to the little boy. The boy obediently put the shrimp into the cup, then went off to the bathroom to fill half the cup with water from the faucet.
While the little boy was in the bathroom, Cheng Ye surprisingly poured a cup of tea for Yan Han and then asked.
"Yan Han, I plan on opening a branch in both the north and south of L City, and a larger flagship store in the center. Preferably, the flagship store should be spacious and two-storied. Does your company have any suitable properties?"
Yan Han was slightly surprised, but his expression remained calm.
"I will arrange for my special assistant to contact you, is that alright?"
