Chapter 366: Chapter 366: The Talkative Eldest Young Master Yan

Now more than ever, the baby boy felt comfortable and content in the Yan Family. Even though he had returned to the Yan Family before, he had always been a little guarded towards them. Despite the warmth he exhibited outwardly towards everyone, it was never comparable to the bond he had with Zhu Qianying and Chen Jing.

However, after spending the days leading up to and after the Spring Festival with them, it seemed as though his feelings towards the Yan Family had made a qualitative leap.

The most obvious of this was his bond with his father, Yan.

In the past, he would never voluntarily approach Yan for anything, but now, he would actively ask Yan to accompany him to garden to ride a bike or walk the dog. He would even proactively bring him a glass of water or some fruit.

Despite still rolling his eyes at Yan’s every move, and very rarely using the term "Daddy," any observant person could tell that the relationship between him and his father had improved significantly.

Of course, the happiest people about this change were Yan and Zhu Qianying.

Seeing the baby boy becoming naturally affectionate towards Yan did leave Zhu Qianying a tad envious, but she was more relieved and happy.

The baby boy is a smart and sensitive child. He has a natural defense against the outside world and strangers and a keen sense of analysis.

Whether it’s good, bad, happy, or sad, he feels these emotions much more deeply than an adult.

So, his willingness to cling to his father indicated that he could feel the genuine love and care coming from him.

This was also good timing for Zhu Qianying, who had a lot of work on her hands. She didn’t want to be around Yan all day, and was glad to let the baby boy stick to his father while she could work wholeheartedly.

For the whole day of the fourth, Zhu Qianying only descended to the ground floor for meals, spending the rest of her time in the guest room working.

The boy was very considerate, as he would occasionally bring her some fruits and snacks. Then, he would snuggle in her arms for a while before obediently leaving to go play with his grandparents or his father.

It was during dinner time that Madam Yan began talking about returning to the Capital City that Zhu Qianying realised that the next day would be the fifth day, and she had promised the elders to accompany the baby boy to visit Grandpa Yan and Grandma Yan in the capital.

"Auntie, when is the flight tomorrow?"

Zhu Qianying had originally planned to prepare gifts, but too much had happened over the past few days and she’d completely forgotten about that.

"At eight in the morning, the elders are expecting us for lunch."

Zhu Qianying instinctively checked the time. Seeing her action, Yan, who had been watching her movements, asked, "Are you thinking of buying gifts?"

Zhu Qianying was not surprised at Yan’s insight anymore. She met his gaze head-on and simply nodded.

"Yes, I’ve been too happy these days and completely forgot about it."

"Don’t worry! I’ll accompany you to buy them after dinner."

The baby boy pouted and insisted on going out with them. Zhu Qianying didn’t want to be alone with Yan, but considering the safety issues, she didn’t want the baby boy to go out with them either.

The little boy followed them to the entrance hall, pouting. In the end, it was Yan who promised him, "Baby, be a good boy. Mommy and Daddy will bring you fried chicken fries."

Usually, Chen Jing wouldn’t let the baby boy eat this kind of junk food, and Yan and his wife wouldn’t either. So, this bribe barely convinced the little boy to agree.

Zhu Qianying didn’t know much about the preferences of the elders, after all, she had left soon after her wedding with Yan, and her impressions of the foremost authoritative elders were limited to the few days she had spent with them during their honeymoon.

So, she truly didn’t know what the elders preferred.

"Yan, could you tell me what grandpa, grandma, uncle, and aunt like?"

Just as she got into the car, Zhu Qianying asked.

If it had been in the past, Yan would have surely said, "Whatever, they don’t lack anything."

But now, he wouldn’t wastefully disregard Zhu Qianying’s heartfelt thoughts like that.

After all, those were his elders and if she was willing to put thought into them, it showed she cared about him.

Otherwise, who would care whether or not his elders liked their gifts and if they were happy to receive them?

"Grandpa and grandma like jade, uncle likes porcelain, and aunt likes calligraphy and painting."

Speaking of which, Zhu Qianying had some familiarity with what Yan had mentioned. After hearing Yan’s words, Zhu Qianying checked her watch again, looked up at the driver, and said:

"Brother Chen, please take us to Luiyin Road."

Upon hearing the address Zhu Qianying gave, not just the driver, even Yan was a little stunned.

"Qianying, isn’t Luiyin Road just a bunch of old buildings waiting to be demolished? I don’t think there are any shops there, are there?"

Zhu Qianying didn’t directly answer Yan’s question, but simply shrugged and said, "You’ll understand soon!"

Her demeanor wasn’t about purposely keeping him in suspense. She simply didn’t want to engage in much conversation with him.

Yan tactfully stopped asking.

Throughout the journey, she didn’t say much, but Yan, usually the quiet one, unexpectedly talked a lot.

"The Ji Family twins are indeed interesting. Usually, our baby boy doesn’t pay much attention to other kids, but he really looks up to Beibei and Guoguo, and he listens to them very well."

As Yan chatted about the children, Zhu Qianying just quietly listened, occasionally responding with a hum.

Surprisingly, Yan, who was used to being the high and mighty one, didn’t mind her almost dismissive attitude at all and kept chatting away enthusiastically.

Eventually, Zhu Qianying began to feel guilty. She unscrewed a bottle of water and handed it over to Yan.

"Have some water. Aren’t you tired from all the talking?"

Yan, smiling, took the water, thanked her, drank a few sips, screwed the cap back on, looked at her and said, "As long as you’re willing to listen, I’ll keep talking."

Zhu gave him a look and said irritably, "Who said I was willing to listen?"

Yan simply blinked, "But you didn’t ask me to shut up, did you?"

Zhu Qianying really had a mind to tell him to shut up. But on second thought, if she did, he might come up with some new tricks, which she could do without. So she chose to keep quiet and let him go on about the children.

After all, she didn’t exactly dislike the things he was talking about.

Plus, having the billionaire, Yan talking to her about daily life was oddly satisfying!

Yan seemed to become addicted to the chat and after finishing his water, he continued talking. Though, this time around, he was talking about Yanhuang and some things about the Tong village.

Though Zhu Qianying was not a businesswoman, she knew that a large part of what he was talking about could be seen by outsiders as juicy trade secrets worth a lot of money.
