Chapter 277: Chapter 277: I’m Afraid You Might Misunderstand
Zhu Qianying really wanted to politely greet the man across the room, begging him to rush and call the police to arrest the three men outside the door.
They both stiffened for a while. Eventually, it was Chen Jing in the room who could no longer bear it and opened the iron door with a "click".
Yan Han, who had been leaning against the wall in silence since the policeman arrived, seized the opportunity and entered the room as soon as he could.
The policeman, watching the agile figure flash into the room, a glint of admiration flashed in his eyes. Then he coughed twice and asked formally.
"Miss Zhu, do you still need us to mediate? Or should we get a marriage expert?"
Zhu Qianying thought to herself, do they think I’m an idiot? It’s obvious that they are in cahoots with Eldest Young Master Yan!
"Thank you, Mister Policeman. I can handle my own affairs!"
Finally, the policeman couldn’t help smiling and nodded his head, "Mr. Yan, Madam Yan, goodbye!"
After Zhu Qianying entered the room and saw that her mother was about to pour water for the Eldest Young Master Yan out of habit, she yelled impatiently.
"Mother, leave him alone and go to sleep!"
Chen Jing looked at Zhu Qianying, then at the well-dressed Young Master Yan, hesitated for a moment, and finally turned and entered her room.
Zhu Qianying glanced at Yan Han, who after entering, stood quietly to one side. She spoke calmly.
"Sit for a while, I’m going to change my clothes."
Eldest Young Master Yan, who had been left outside for most of the evening, surprisingly showed no signs of disarray. He obediently nodded and went to sit in the living room.
Zhu Qianying entered the room, but she did not change her clothes. Instead, she took an MP4 player from her bedside cabinet, put on her earphones, turned the volume up to her maximum tolerance level, removed her jacket, got back into bed, pulled the covers over herself and returned to her dreams.
For some reason, she felt extremely relaxed lying in bed and soon fell asleep.
As for whether Eldest Young Master Yan had knocked on the door, she had no clue.
...
The next morning, Zhu Qianying woke up at the same time as usual. After washing up and opening her room door, she stared at the man sitting in the living room.
"You’re still here?"
She thought that after leaving him as she did, anyone with any sense of self-respect would probably have left within half an hour.
"I’m waiting for you!" Yan Han said with a calm demeanor, his gaze, direct and fixated on Zhu Qianying.
It seems that not only did she sleep well last night but also, Mr. Yan had a good night’s sleep.
Perhaps he had sneaked into their baby’s bedroom to sleep in the middle of the night?
With that assumption, Zhu Qianying took a few surreptitious glances at him. Not surprisingly, the back of his shirt seemed a bit wrinkled, so did his trousers, and his suit jacket was draped over another sofa.
So it seemed, he probably had slept on the sofa last night?
It was rare that the nitpicky Eldest Young Master Yan would have even spent a night sleeping on a sofa?
"Waiting for me? I’m not paying you!"
Zhu Qianying stifled a yawn and headed towards the dining room. In her mind, she was genuinely curious about the substantial psychological damage that Young Master Yan would have suffered from sleeping on the sofa all night.
Eldest Young Master Yan was thick-skinned; he got up and followed her, "You don’t have to pay me. I just need you to listen to my explanation."
Eldest Young Master Yan was indeed a stubborn one, following her into the dining room and pulling out the chair beside her to sit down.
Zhu Qianying remained silent, picking up a bowl to scoop some plain porridge. Underneath the bowl was a small note. A glance at the handwriting revealed it was left by her mother.
"Ying’er, have a good talk with Young Master Yan. I am going out to buy groceries. I’ll make a lung nourishing soup for you and the baby tonight."
Zhu Qianying burst out laughing; maybe her mother should consider making a calming soup instead.
Yan Han looked at her, "Why are you laughing?"
"Nothing!" Zhu Qianying laughed and shook her head, crumpling the note into a ball. A few sips of the hot milk her mother had left for her were followed.
After finishing, she licked her lips and glanced at Yan Han.
"Go on, I’m listening."
Even if her mother hadn’t specifically instructed her, she would have done him the favor of listening. However, does he not realize that regardless of whether they talk or not, the outcome remains the same.
Yan Han stared at her for a little while, "I went straight back home after dropping off Yi Wei last night. From now on, she won’t give you trouble anymore, don’t worry!"
Zhu Qianying found this hilarious. "She didn’t give me any trouble. She merely caused trouble for our store. Next time she comes around, I will call the police and won’t be polite."
Upon recalling, Zhu Qianying didn’t find Yi Wei causing her any issue. After all, it wasn’t like she was losing weight or even a hair because of her.
However, last night’s incident probably caused some of the customers to form certain views about the store or her.
Yan Han took her evasion as her unwillingness to discuss the issue. "Ying’er, trust me. Such incidents won’t happen again."
Zhu Qianying huffed, picked up her cup, and drank the rest of the half glass of milk.
"She and I, we’re not what you think. I see her as a good friend, and at most, like a younger sister," Yan Han continued.
Zhu Qianying nodded, "I know that. Didn’t you explain that to me once before? You don’t have to repeat it over and over."
If he’s not tired, Zhu Qianying is tired for him.
Is it interesting? Regardless if they are siblings or lovers, he doesn’t need to explain it to her, she doesn’t care.
"I’m afraid you’re misunderstanding..." For once, Yan Han spoke rather haltingly and cautiously.
"Young Master Yan, I haven’t misunderstood anything, don’t worry!"
To show that she truly didn’t misunderstand, Zhu Qianying even generously scooped a bowl of plain porridge for Eldest Young Master Yan.
"Eat a little. You stayed awake all night yesterday. Have some plain porridge to cool down the heat."
Then, Zhu Qianying scooped a big bowl of porridge for herself and sat down, leisurely eating.
The Zhu Qianying now, seemed immune to everything. No matter what Yan Han explained, she wasn’t paying any heed. Regardless of what he said, she believed it held no meaning.
Then, she remembered a joke she read a while ago stating that a woman only needs to say three sentences to completely engage in any conversation.
Those three phrases were "Really? Why? That’s amazing!"
Therefore, playfully, she thought to try this method on Eldest Young Master Yan.
Perhaps, Young Master Yan had sensed her indifference and dismissive attitude. After accepting the bowl of plain porridge she handed over, he continued speaking.
"Ying’er, I really didn’t go anywhere with Yi Wei last night!"
Zhu Qianying put down her bowl, rested her cheek on her hand, and smiled at him, "Really?"
Eldest Young Master Yan, of course, didn’t know that she was playing with him. Thinking that she was finally willing to listen to his explanation, he nodded earnestly.
"Of course, it’s true. I scolded her in the car, saying that she shouldn’t have interfered with your job."
Oh! So according to Eldest Young Master Yan, as long as she wasn’t filling at her job, then there’s no problem, is that it?
