Chapter 202: How to Give the Best to Baby Boy
Chapter 202: Chapter 202: How to Give the Best to Baby Boy
"Sister, if you don’t have time to care for him, you can initially send the baby boy over to our place." Zhu Qianyu didn’t quite understand Zhu Qianying’s earlier approach.
"Oh, great director, this is real life, not a TV show."
After Zhu Qianyu won the best director award a year ago, the Ji Family, including Zhu Qianying, occasionally teased her by calling her ’great director’.
And she, truly embodied the ideals and aestheticism inherent in an artist.
She desired things too idealistically, as if an ethereal fairy untouched by the mundane world. Thankfully, she’d met a man like Ji Huan. If she’d ended up with a jerk, who knows how many times she’d have been hurt.
Ji Huan, of course, understood the situation far better than Zhu Qianyu. Patting her head gently, he began to explain.
"Qian Yu, even if Ying Zi brings the baby boy to our house, it’s not a permanent solution. You know too well how desperately Young Master Yan has been searching for your sister these past few years. Any slight disturbance on our side, he would be quick to notice. The baby boy looks so much like him, how long do you think it would take him to find out? Then, would he allow the baby boy to stay at our house? We might achieve nothing, despite using every possible means, just because he is the father."
Ji Huan said exactly what had been on Zhu Qianying’s mind.
Instead of letting the baby boy end up as a pawn in the tug of war between the Ji and Yan Families, and get hurt as a result, only to forcibly go back to the Yan Family in the end, it was better to send him back to the Yan Family right from the start. That way, both Zhu Qianying and the Ji Family would have more initiative.
"Beibei and Guoguo have a short winter camp activity from Friday to Sunday, I’ve arranged for you a nominal position. Later, when Beibei and Guoguo get off from school, I’ll have Guoguo call the Yan family. That little girl is quite popular with the two old men of the Yan family. Once she talks to them, they’ll directly send the baby boy to the winter camp."
Ji Huan’s arrangement was impeccable; naturally, Zhu Qianying fully approved.
As soon as Beibei and Guoguo finished school, Uncle had them by the phone.
"Beibei, Guoguo, do you guys want your little brother to join winter camp with you?"
The two kids were immediately excited, "We do, we do! Did baby brother say he’s coming with us? That’s great!"
Both of them were hopping and clapping excitedly. It took a while for Ji Huan to calm them down before saying, "Your baby brother doesn’t know yet. If you want him to join, you need to find a way to convince Grandfather and Grandmother to let him join."
Ji Huan didn’t involve Zhu Qianying in this plan; in his view, a child’s world should not be filled with lies. He didn’t plan to involve the children in these calculations. He’d rather present Zhu Qianying’s arrival as a surprise encounter at the winter camp for the little ones.
For this reason, Zhu Qianying was not staying at the Ji house but temporarily residing in another apartment of the Ji Family.
Beibei and Guoguo immediately quieted down and sat cross-legged on the sofa, planning something cheek to cheek. In the end, just as Ji Huan had predicted, it was Guoguo who made the call.
"Is that Grandfather Hai? This is Guoguo from the Ji Family; is grandmother at home?"
At over six years old, the dragon-phoenix twins from the Ji Family were still extremely similar in appearance. Despite having almost the exact same facial features, Beibei sported a handsome little mannish look while Guoguo was a beautiful little girl, each with distinct personalities.
Beibei had inherited the sharp and handsome looks of the Ji Family men whereas Guoguo was pure, energetic and stunningly beautiful.
"Aye! Little princess Guoguo, wait there, I’ll call your grandmother right away."
The Hai Uncle on the other end was particularly fond of the two precious children of the Ji Family and used to wish that his Young Master also had such good luck, like having dragon and phoenix twins.
But now, he no longer envied the Ji Family as his Young Master also had a clever and cute little Young Master.
However, he still adored the two little ones from the Ji Family.
Old Lady Yan was enjoying a free massage from the baby boy. Hearing that the little princess from the Ji Family was calling, she hurriedly got up and trotted over. The baby boy, missing his brother and sister, also ran after her eagerly.
"Guoguo, what can grandmother do for you? Are you coming over to play with your brother?"
Old Lady Yan thought this was the most likely reason since tomorrow was Friday. As she spoke, noticing the anxious anticipation on her beloved grandson’s face, she pressed the speakerphone button.
Then Guoguo’s clear voice popped on the speaker, "Grandma, Beibei and I are going to a winter camp early tomorrow. Does baby brother want to come with us?"
Before Old Lady Yan could respond, the baby boy already impatiently leaned in to answer, "Sister, I want to go!"
Clearly, Old Lady Yan didn’t have the liberty to decide anymore.
"We’ll gather at the gate of the Children’s Palace here at 8 a.m. tomorrow. Will you be coming over tomorrow morning, or tonight?"
This decision was beyond the baby boy’s capacity. Standing straight, he looked at his grandmother with yearning eyes.
Actually, Old Lady Yan had planned to take him out for a few days as the little boy had been distressed for the last couple days after his daddy told him he was going to bring his mommy home. Now allowing him to play with Beibei and Guoguo for a couple of days was even better than taking him out for a change of mood with her and Old Ye.
"Guoguo, tomorrow morning we will bring baby brother straight there. We’ll gather at the entrance of the Children’s Palace at 8 a.m., okay?"
And just like that, everything was smoothly arranged!
Thinking about the pending activities over the next few days, and having been down for a few days, a smile finally spread across the little boy’s face. Humming an unfamiliar jingle, he cheerfully started to pack his little suitcase.
Old Lady Yan, who had been accompanying him, hurried over to help, but the baby boy rejected her help with an earnest expression, "Grandmother, baby boy can manage by himself!"
Old Lady Yan thought it was just bravado, but she didn’t want to discourage his enthusiasm and sat on the sofa with crossed arms, watching quietly.
The little boy walked back and forth in the cloakroom a couple of times. First, he took out his underwear and pajamas and placed them at the bottom of the suitcase, then chose three sets of casual sweaters and pants for outdoor activities, a pair of thermal gloves, and three pairs of socks to put on top.
Old Lady Yan looked on in surprise as he had packed all the critical clothes satisfactorily.
Just as she was about to remind him about a few small items, she saw him open a drawer to take out a mask, a hat, and sunglasses, and place them on top of everything else in the suitcase.
