Chapter 194: Chapter 194: The First "Daddy

"Dad, Uncle Hai mentioned the other day that much of our furniture could potentially harm kids. Why don’t we take the little guy out, buy some furniture and get him some toys?"

Yan Han, who was once heartlessly rejected by his son, had learned his lesson. By using grandpa to convey the same message, the little boy would surely feel too embarrassed to refuse.

Yan Bo lifted his eyelids and glanced at his son, inwardly snickering, "How the tables have turned!"

While enjoying his son’s predicament internally, he naturally sided with his son verbally. Plus, they really did need to replace the furniture and buy toys.

"Baby boy, once you finish this round, how about we play the living room assembly game together, sound good?"

Yan Bo was just as cautious when dealing with his seemingly divine grandson. He felt sorry for his son, yet he didn’t want to upset his grandson and risk being shunned into his son’s "uncool" side.

The little boy pondered for a moment, lifting his head to survey the vast living room.

"Can I really arrange it however I want?"

The little boy asked earnestly, causing an inexplicable shiver to run through Yan Bo and Yan Han.

Would this little guy turn their home into a graffiti-filled playground?

Yan Han was a bit of a neat freak and overly particular about certain details and trivialities.

Such as where each chair should be placed in the room, what antique vase should be displayed on which cabinet, and so on. He inexplicably insisted on these things and would not allow any changes, even the slightest.

However, maybe one day he would get a whim and overturn all these old furnishings, starting a new round of obsessiveness.

All these furnishings had been used for several years, so indeed, it was about time for a change!

Everything was arranged just as Zhu Qianying had left it. He hoped that when she returned, everything would still be the same.

But now, their son was back. What would attract her most in this home was their son; everything else seemed immaterial.

Such realization brought Yan Han immense frustration, but he was helpless against it.

Actually, he would be content even if she treated him like a piece of furniture, as long as she returned!

Regarding his son’s sudden reappearance, Yan Han assumed Zhu Qianying must have encountered trouble caring for their son. However, he also hoped this was a test from Zhu Qianying, as well as an opportunity for him.

"Yes, you can arrange it however you like," Yan Han was the first to promise.

"Moreover, you can choose a large room on the third floor and decorate it however you wish."

Seizing the opportunity of his son’s willingness to communicate, Yan Han quickly added.

Upon hearing his words, the little boy’s eyes lit up with expectation and joy, but he turned to Yan Bo, "Grandpa, can I also have a playroom like big brother and big sister?"

Beibei and Guoguo’s playroom fascinated him. He spent the whole day there, accompanied by Yan Bo and his wife, and only came out when Beibei and Guoguo came home from school.

Without waiting for Grandpa to answer, Yan Han immediately chimed in, "Of course! In the future, you can ask Daddy for anything."

On the way to the furniture centre, the little boy was very excited, chattering away with Yan Bo and his wife.

Yan Han, who had consciously placed himself in the co-driver’s seat, kept his ears peeled to hear what the little boy was saying to Grandpa and Grandma.

Having spent a little over the day together, Yan Han was beginning to get a feel for the little boy’s temperament.

Whenever he was around, the little guy transformed into an ice sculpture, reluctant to even cast him a glance, let alone speak to him.

However, when he was with his grandparents or Uncle Hai, the little boy would immediately revert to his sweet and innocent self, curling up in Yan Bo’s arms, his eyes wide as he attentively listened to Yan Bo’s stories about the animals they saw in Africa’s primitive forests.

"Grandpa, can I play with those animals too?"

Yan Bo nodded, "Of course!"

Yan Han was envious, jealous, and hateful of his parents’ ability to form a friendly relationship with his son.

However, he knew that he could not expect the same treatment from his son, despite the little guy agreeing to let him accompany them to the furniture centre.

As he expected, the prestigious Yan Han spent the entire day as an errand boy, manual laborer, and walking ATM.

Whatever his little master commanded to buy, he dutifully followed behind and paid for.

The worst part was after several rounds of payment, his little master suddenly pointed at a bustling area and claimed that the five-yuan pillows and ten-yuan quilts looked decent.

Left with no choice, he spent a few hours queuing behind an array of older women, waiting to get his hands on the "decent" pillows and quilts his little master approved of.

In reality, all Yan Han had to do was to voice out his need, and whether it was pillows or quilts, the manager would immediately have them delivered, filling up an entire house if needed.

However, his precious son only pointed at the ones piled up in the bargain section. So he had no choice but to obediently queue, then fumble out fifteen yuan in change to hand over to the cashier, since the sign clearly noted, "Please provide exact change!"

When Yan Han, holding the pillows and quilts, finally found his precious son with the assistance of Old Chen, he was told, "The young master and your parents are dining at the restaurant across."

Yan Han was stunned. It was indeed dinner time, but had they purchased all the furniture and toys for his son?

Old Chen seemed to read his mind, "The young master and the seniors have already bought all the furniture and toys. The manager should be arranging to delivery everything as we speak."

Even if Yan Han was a fool, he’d have understood the situation. But he was far from a fool - he was rather sharp, in fact.

It turned out that the little guy had sent him to buy discounted pillows and quilts just to get rid of him.

A little disheartened by his delayed revelation, Yan Han didn’t dare to voice any complaints. He handed over the pillows and quilts to Old Chen before rushing towards the restaurant on the opposite side.

Initially, Yan Han thought his son had asked him to buy the discounted pillows and quilts as a little prank to keep him away. But it wasn’t until after dinner and they’d returned home that he realised the worst was yet to come.

Upon their return to the Yan Family’s house, all the furniture had been delivered by the furniture centre. The family sat around discussing where to place the furniture for it to look best.

The young master, who had always treated Yan Han like a virus, suddenly held Yan Han’s hand and looked up at him with sweet, innocent eyes, calling out, "Daddy!"
