Chapter 721: Chapter 407: Instruction
"Yuan Ba, this Ancestor Master Painting shall be in your keeping, which represents our lineage, and by placing your Divine Thought within the painting, you can sense the status of our entire lineage!" Elder Sword carefully put away the painting scroll of the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, but instead of storing it in his own spatial storage, he handed it over to Li Yuanba.
Li Yuanba bowed and took the scroll with both hands, understanding the significance of the painting scroll.
"I need to enter seclusion for two months, and I’ll notify you to come after two months," Elder Sword waved his hand and said.
Li Yuanba then left the cave dwelling and flew out of the mountain peak.
He didn’t linger at the gate, as he had turned his original cave dwelling into a magical treasure. Even though he could set the Ten Thousand Sword Peak back in its original place, he now had a mission to fulfill.
After all, there were two more months to wait, so he would deal with it after two months.
It took him some time to return to his Guardian Mansion in Jieshan City, and after entering the Cultivation Room, he finally took out the painting scroll of the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion.
Unfolding the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion scroll, he looked at the depicted mountains, as well as the pavilions on the mountains, and attempted to project his Divine Thought into the pavilion.
Subsequently, he found himself in a space that mirrored the scene on the scroll, yet within this space, it was as though everything truly existed.
His spirit could move freely within the space, so he moved it in front of the pavilion.
There were three cultivators conversing in front of the pavilion, and his spirit went towards them, only to pass through the three cultivators.
The three cultivators were illusory, yet even with his keen eyesight, he could not discern how the illusion was made to be so deceptively real.
Li Yuanba’s spirit pushed open the grand doors of the pavilion and saw hundreds of cultivators seated in the main hall.
When he focused his spirit on one of the cultivators, he received a piece of information:
"Zhao Biao, the sixteenth-generation disciple of Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, fell at the Nascent Soul Middle Stage!"
He was startled, remembering that when he joined the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, his master had told him that he was the one hundred and fifteenth-generation disciple.
One must understand that the succession of a martial sect is not like that of ordinary people, where ordinarily, thirty years might pass for a single generation.
In a martial sect, however, generations are counted by centuries, and it’s normal for great sects not to accept disciples until they reach the Golden Core Stage, sometimes several hundred years passing before the first disciple is taken.
The difference between the one hundred and fifteenth generation disciple and Zhao Biao, the sixteenth generation, likely spanned ten thousand years.
The figures sitting in this hall, according to what his master said, were all ancestral masters of their lineage within Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion.
He investigated them one by one and discovered that none of the ancestral masters here were below the Nascent Soul Stage.
This meant that Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion had produced so many Nascent Soul Ancestors from their lineage, and only those who were Nascent Soul Ancestors had the privilege to be included here for the posterity to venerate.
As he was observing, he spotted a familiar figure in the last row—it was his master, Elder Sword.
Elder Sword was also sitting cross-legged, and Li Yuanba focused his Divine Thought on him:
"Jian Wuwei, the one hundred and fourteenth-generation disciple of Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, currently at the Nascent Soul Early Stage!"
Li Yuanba was unsure whether the information within the scroll about Elder Sword was added by Elder Sword himself, or it updated automatically.
He also discovered several Nascent Soul Ancestors whose demises weren’t mentioned; these descriptions were of their current state of cultivation, suggesting that these Nascent Soul Ancestors, like Elder Sword, were still alive.
However, he noticed some special presences as well, for instance, he tried to seek information on several ancestors seated at the forefront but received no feedback at all.
Yet, he was certain that these ancestors, without any feedback, must have powers exceeding the Nascent Soul Stage.
Because there was no feedback, he had no way of knowing if any of these ancestors were still alive.
He truly understood the might of "Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion." Just considering the number of Nascent Soul Ancestors he had confirmed to be alive, there were many more than the Senluo Sect.
And this was only a lineage of Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, how many more formidable entities could the whole of Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion possess?
He started to grasp Elder Sword’s intentions, perhaps Elder Sword was just like himself back on Sky Sea Island, sensing the barrenness of the island and yearning for a mainland with richer resources, where it was easier to improve one’s cultivation.
Of course, all these matters were still far away from him, as leaving the Beishu Continent required at the very minimum being at the Nascent Soul Stage.
Without the strength of the Nascent Soul Stage, one could not survive on the vast sea.
Li Yuanba put away the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion painting scroll and immersed himself back into cultivation.
News of Jian Wuwei’s advancement to the Nascent Soul spread quickly throughout all the major forces on the Beishu Continent.
All the forces, be they the three great Righteous Path sects or the other two great Demonic Path sects, sent elders to the Senluo Sect with congratulatory gifts.
This was a custom, and, in addition, the Nascent Soul Ancestors would also attend the ceremonies at the Senluo Sect upon receiving an invitation to celebrate Jian Wuwei’s ascension.
The most important was to introduce Jian Wuwei to the Nascent Soul Ancestors of the Beishu Continent. No matter what choices Jian Wuwei made afterwards, he was now a Nascent Soul Ancestor of the Beishu Continent, who would have dealings with other Nascent Soul Ancestors in the future.
Jian Wuwei needed resources, and the six major sects controlled the distribution of grade-four resources. They needed to sit down and discuss the allocation of resources for Jian Wuwei.
Jian Wuwei needed to showcase his strength, as the stronger he was, the more generous the allocation of grade-four resources he could obtain.
Of course, what could be allocated was only the openly acknowledged grade-four resources. The private grade-four resource yields hidden by the six major sects wouldn’t be disclosed.
