Chapter 34: Li Fang is dead?
Chapter 34: Li Fang is dead?
Xiao Ning nearly rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
In all the scenarios he had imagined, Wu Shu’s response had never been this one.
Wu Shu fleeing in panic.
Wu Shu desperately bargaining for his life.
Wu Shu snarling threats about his powerful sect and ancient bloodline...
But not this.
This explosion of ruthless decisiveness was far beyond what Xiao Ning had expected.
"So this is the real Wu Shu..." A hint of amusement flashed through his eyes.
Though Wu Shu had always been arrogant and cruel toward weaker cultivators, when faced with a foe of equal or greater cultivation, the man did not hesitate for a single breath.
The moment the golden spiritual armor had formed upon his body, Wu Shu struck.
There was no sound, no cry of invocation—only a flash of light that seemed to fracture the very fabric of space.
Frozen Time Strike.
It came without warning.
A glimmering spear of pale blue light, formed from condensed laws of time and frost, appeared silently above Wu Shu’s shoulder. The next moment, it hurtled forward—warping space as it tore through the air, the cold around it freezing even the drifting moonlight.
The power behind the attack was overwhelming—enough to shatter a mountain.
Even a peak Nascent Soul expert caught unawares would be obliterated instantly. And even a half-step Heavenly Tribulation cultivator, without preparation, would suffer grave injuries.
Yet Xiao Ning’s expression merely sharpened.
As the spear hurtled toward him, his robe sleeves stirred without wind. His hand moved slowly, as though submerged underwater, and traced a strange arc.
"Mirror Void Yin Barrier."
His voice was soft, almost inaudible. But the moment the words fell, a translucent wall shimmered into being before him. It rippled like a calm lake under moonlight, its surface reflecting both Wu Shu and the freezing spear racing toward it.
The instant the spear struck the mirror, the impact sent a pulse through space—but instead of shattering, the mirror absorbed the energy.
Then, with an eerie hum, it reflected it.
Boom!
More than that—it shimmered, and then reflected the spear back toward Wu Shu, its force amplified slightly by a hidden yin pulse.
Wu Shu’s eyes twitched. He raised a single hand and slammed his palm down.
"Mirror Glacial Wall!"
A wall of crystalline ice, layered with dozens of defensive talismans and frost runes, rose between him and the returning spear.
The impact cracked the ice barrier in a web of silvery fissures.
With a shuddering groan, the Mirror Glacial Wall shattered into fragments of glittering snow —but the impact was contained.
Wu Shu took a half-step back, his gaze narrowing.
’That technique... not only reflected my strike but even strengthened it? How is such a method possible? What kind of mirror dao is this?’
His brow furrowed.
Where had Li Fang acquired such a mysterious technique?
Even within ancient sects, mirror-type techniques were rare and notoriously difficult to cultivate.
A flicker of greed rose in his heart, but it faded just as quickly beneath the weight of growing unease.
No matter.
He would test the limits of this strange technique.
"Hmph... Let’s see just how much you can defend."
In response, Xiao Ning’s lips curled slightly.
"Defend?" His tone was indifferent. "You think too small."
With a single graceful motion, he waved his hand.
In the next breath, three Yin Void Mirrors shimmered into existence behind him—floating in the air like moonlit portals.
A hum, low and resonant, filled the pavilion.
Then—
Whoosh!
The exact same Frozen Time Strike, indistinguishable in aura and structure, emerged from each mirror.
Three spears. All directed at him.
"Wh—!?"
Wu Shu’s face darkened.
’He can... replicate my technique? Even its spiritual imprint is near-identical!’
For the first time, true apprehension gripped his heart.
But he grit his teeth and suppressed the fear. With a cold snort, he thrust both palms out.
"Eternal Frost Domain—Unseal!!"
A cold mist burst from beneath his feet. In the blink of an eye, the entire pavilion and its surroundings were enveloped in a field of pale, glacial light. Within this domain, time slowed, space warped, and the air itself grew thick and heavy.
The three incoming spears immediately lost momentum. Their trajectories shifted and staggered mid-flight, and by the time they reached Wu Shu’s form, they had already dimmed and lost most of their destructive force.
They fell to the ground with little more than muted cracks—breaking like brittle branches.
Wu Shu exhaled slowly.
Now that he had touched the threshold of the Heavenly Tribulation Realm, this domain was no longer an illusion—it was real.
And within it, he was sovereign.
"Copy my techniques all you want. Inside my domain, their power is nothing."
Yet he did not relax.
Instead, he lifted both hands, spiritual energy flooding from his dantian. Dozens of spell formations appeared in a flash.
"Absolute Zero Pillars!"
Boom!
Dozens of massive ice pillars burst from the ground, each one etched with ancient frost runes. The pavilion was obliterated in an instant, the pillars rising into the heavens like an icy forest of divine judgment.
From above, it was as if a glacial cage had descended to encase the world.
He moved again.
Frozen Time Strike—again.
This time, the technique was layered within the domain and amplified by the Absolute Zero Pillars. Its speed, sharpness, and temporal distortion were all magnified severalfold.
Even a full-fledged Heavenly Tribulation expert would feel threatened.
But Xiao Ning’s gaze only narrowed slightly.
Within his pupils, a ripple passed.
"So the domain strengthens it to this degree..."
For the first time, he extended both hands.
"Then I shall respond this time."
With a single gesture, a sword appeared—a blade forged of obsidian and silver, split down the center in black and white.
"Yin-Yang Mirror Slash."
Crack!
The sword slash tore through the incoming spear with contemptuous ease. The frozen pillars in its path cracked and groaned. Though they did not collapse, the deep cuts left behind shuddered with unstable energy.
Even the frost domain itself flickered slightly under the pressure.
Wu Shu’s heart leapt.
"What the hell...?"
He finally felt a trace of fear worm into his soul. These techniques... Where had Li Fang obtained them?
Even the ancient clans of the top ten realms would kill to possess a single one of them.
No. Something was wrong.
Was this truly the man he had seen encircled and nearly slain?
Or... was Li Fang already dead?
Was the person before him someone—something—else? As this thought flashed through his mind, Wu Shu’s eyes gleamed with both dread and suspicion.
With a low shout, he pushed his domain to its limit, layers of frost surging forth like a blizzard tide. He conjured Mirror Glacial Wall once more, embedding spirit stones into the formation mid-cast.
Finally, with a thunderous boom, the Yin-Yang Slash met the wall.
