Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough -
Chapter 1690 1690: A Golden Palm and A Sea of Blood
Sure enough, not long after the master and disciple pair from the Blue Sea Empire escaped from the Onyx Empire, a terrifying hand slammed down towards a location close to the core region of the Frozen Wastelands. Even from the Onyx Empire the towering hand made entirely of gold was visible and seemed to be about to crush the entirety of the Frozen Wastelands-
RUMBLE-!
But in response to this golden palm descending towards the Frozen Wastelands, a river of blood that seemed to cover the entirety of the Frozen Wastelands swept out to block the golden palm-
Boom!
Instantly, the entirety of the Frozen Wastelands along with the countless smaller empires and kingdoms bordering it trembled, as the golden palm slammed down on the blood sea covering the Frozen Wastelands.
Even though it quickly became clear that the one behind the golden palm had ended up losing and used some mystical means to shatter the golden palm and turn it into a golden net that restrained the spread of the blood sea to prevent too much damage, the clash between the golden palm and the blood sea ultimately still spilled out into some of the closest kingdoms and empires to the Frozen Wastelands.
The Star Shattering Sect was barely out of range and managed to avoid any real damage, but the same could not be said for the Onyx Empire, as part of the blood sea was blown apart and ended up flying into the Onyx Empire. Instantly sweeping through a quarter of the empire. Killing anything it encountered, while leaving behind a bloody sea that took up one tenth of the entire empire when it came to a stop.
From that single clash, countless had died not just in the Onyx Empire, but all around the Frozen Wastelands, as the might of the demonic cultivator behind the blood sea was on full display.
…
Far away from the Onyx Empire by now, the master who had chosen to escape early to avoid being caught up in the inevitable clash that was going to take place could not help turning around with a shocked expression on his face as he felt the clash between the golden palm and the blood sea taking place behind him.
"This… A monk from the Golden Nirvana Temple is clashing with the Demon King of the Frozen Wastelands!?" Muttering this to himself with a clear look of shock on his face, the old man was clearly taken aback by what had just happened. Clearly not having expected the situation to suddenly reach the point where even the Demon King, known as the one in charge of the Frozen Wastelands, was dragged out.
Even less so that the person who ended up dragging him out wasn't the old senior figure from his empire like he might have imagined, but instead someone from the Golden Nirvana Temple, a major power no weaker than the Blue Sea Empire itself.
Of course, outside of being shocked by the display of power that had shaken him to his core even as someone in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, he was even more surprised that there was someone that powerful from the Western Central Region present in the Northern Central Region. Especially with the current state of the continent where nobody had the time to pay attention to others as they either fought against demonic cultivators or themselves.
Given the history between the Western Central Region and the Northern Central Region and how those monks from the Western Central Region always wanted to expand into the Northern Central Region, he couldn't help feeling like there was something more to the appearance of such a powerful monk.
Perhaps, the other party was planning to take advantage of the situation when they began to seriously clash with the demonic cultivators, but in the end, news of the strange wiggling tree root had forced them into action beforehand. Leading to the current clash with the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands before the ones from his empire even had the chance to appear.
Or maybe they are already there, just haven't joined in on the battle yet. Only observing from the side as the monk gets himself injured…
Shaking his head as he thought about this to himself, the old master suddenly couldn't help feeling that the Blue Sea Empire he had spent most of his old life in since breaking through to the Celestial Immortal Realm and where he had picked up his disciple no longer looked that safe.
After all, the Blue Sea Empire's unwillingness to join the monk from the Golden Nirvana Temple was an indication in itself that the senior figures behind the Blue Sea Empire had a problem of some kind.
In a sense, the attack directed at the Frozen Wastelands might not even have anything to do with the Frozen Wastelands itself but was instead a way to gauge the Blue Sea Empire. If there was truly nothing wrong, they should have been more than happy to join in and potentially injure the ruler of the Frozen Wastelands, but they hadn't done so…
"We won't return to the Blue Sea Empire for now but will be visiting an old friend of mine in the Southern Region until the situation here calms down."
"Huh? Won't the old fellows from the Blue Sea Empire complain if you leave now of all times?"
"They won't, they will have other things to worry about in the future, a little old man like me will quickly be forgotten."
"Hm… If you say so master…"
Watching as his disciple rolled her eyes at his words, he could only shake his head, he was only a guest at the Blue Sea Empire. Not a true ancestor, he could leave whenever he wanted, though it would sour the relationship to some extent.
But his intuition had never failed him and if leaving could keep him and his disciple safe, he didn't mind souring the relationship with the Blue Sea Empire. After all, there was no way they would come running after him just for leaving, as that would scare of anyone else from becoming guest elders for the Blue Sea Empire.
