Cucking The Demon King
Chapter 49: Limits of dream weaver

Chapter 49: Limits of dream weaver

"N-nothing..." The three students replied almost immediately, scampering out of the classroom.

The only reason they came here in the first place was because they heard a scream a few seconds ago.

However, they didn’t expect to meet someone like Rex, who could make their lives in the academy miserable within a few minutes.

Though they were still concerned about what caused that scream from before, they dared not ask, lest anger the young noble before them.

Bam!

"Aghh!" Just as they left the classroom, Rex grunted, smashing his fist on the desk in anger.

"I can’t believe I was so tired I slept off here..." He mumbled, feeling embarrassed at himself.

After the class with the combat instructor, he went straight to train, eager to improve his strength after what happened to him the last time.

But he could barely bring himself to focus on his training, as all that seemed to fill his mind was Liam and how much he embarrassed him.

Everything changed so fast for him.

It was like one moment, he was a loser he could push around anyhow he wished, then in the next, he became someone he couldn’t even stand beside.

Hoping to rid his mind of such depressive thoughts, he decided to talk a short walk around the academy hallways.

But that short walk only ended with him taking a nap on the chair, which then led to his current predicament.

’Holy glove...’ He mumbled inwardly, stretching his right hand in front of him.

A radiant, white glove immediately materialised around his hand, with tiny specks of light floating around it.

’At least... I still have my blessing...’ He mumbled, letting out a low sigh of relief.

In the dream he just had, he remembered he somehow wasn’t able to activate his blessing, so a part of him couldn’t help but worry that something had gone wrong with him.

But at the end of the day, his blessing was still intact, just like it was supposed to be.

"I better leave... before another idiot comes here." He mumbled, slowly walking towards the door.

He activated his blessing a few more times, and after confirming nothing was indeed wrong with it, he finally left the classroom.

Unbeknownst to him, a certain pair of bright red eyes had being watching him from behind ever since he woke up.

’The nightmare... it was even more effective than I expected.’ Liam thought, nodding his head in satisfaction.

His body was transparent and ethereal, like he was there and at the same time, he wasn’t.

He had expected to be brought back to his real body the moment he closed the dream, but it seemed like his expectations were wrong.

He was currently standing in between dreams and reality, just like he had been when he first appeared in this classroom.

Due to that, no other person could see or even sense him.

’Wow... a new quest.’ Liam thought, the edges of his lips curling into a light smirk.

’But evil incubus... really?’ He mumbled inwardly, placing a hand on his chin.

’I’m not that evil system.’ He thought, clicking his tongue.

[Yeah... not evil.]

Lilith said within his mind, her sweet voice laced with a slight tease.

’Lilith! I didn’t hear you at all while in the dream.’ He thought, finding a strange sense of relief at the sound of the demoness voice.

[Well... it takes some more energy for me to follow you into your dreams...]

She mumbled, her voice so low that Liam barely caught it.

’What do you mean—’

[Why don’t you check your stats, I’m sure you’ll find something interesting.]

’Host stats.’ Liam called, and a set of tabs and characters immediately appeared before him.

[Name: Liam Wilshere]

[Race: Divine Incubus]

[Level: 3]

[EXP: 50000/60000]

[Health: 350/350]

[Energy: 2000/2500]

[Magic Power: 1700]

[Strength: 245]

[Agility: 250]

[Stamina: 700]

[Constitution: 1000]

[Charm: 1000]

[Intelligence: 400]

[Lust Points: 260000]

The rest of the stats looked exactly the same, but when he got to the energy stats, his eyes widened in shock.

’I l-lost five hundred energy points?!’ He thought, staring at the numbers looking back at him in disbelief.

He hadn’t gotten any notification about his energy or even any of his other stats while in the dream, so seeing that five hundred points has deducted from his energy came as a shock to him.

[Hehe, what did you expect? Transversing the dream world takes up a lot of energy you know?]

’I guess you’re right...’ Liam mumbled, looking at his hand, or rather through it.

’But how come I didn’t get any notification?’

[As similar as the dream world might seem to reality, they are completely different.]

[While you can still pull up your stats as normal, the system can’t send you notifications while you’re in the dream world.]

[It’s a bit complicated, but the major thing that travels into that realm is your soul and mind.]

[I can’t speak to you when you’re in that world... and the same applies to the system.]

[The only reason you can hear me right now is because you’re standing in between them, so I can still reach you.]

Liam’s brow furrowed at her explanation, but he didn’t say anything.

He could still remember how being in Liam’s dream felt like.

It felt like the whole world was under his control, spinning at the tip of his fingers.

However, when he tried to control it the way he wished, he noticed there were a few things—quite a lot actually, that he couldn’t change about that dream world.

He could freely manipulate the things within his radius, but his abilities were rather limited the more the distance.

Though the process of invading the dream was a lot more successful than he expected, there had been a few things he wanted to do, but wasn’t able to due to his low level.

One of them was to replicate the consciousness of Emma, as well as a few more of their classmates, all to taunt Rex the more.

But unfortunately, he couldn’t freely replicate consciousness as he wished.

He could also increase his strength, making his skills a lot more powerful than they were supposed to be, but there was a limit at which he could do so.

Nonetheless, he was sure the dream weaver skill would still grow more powerful the more he leveled up.

After all, it was already this powerful at level one, talk less of when it reached even higher levels.

’But then... how am I supposed to get back to my body?’ Liam thought, scratching his head in embarrassment.

Though he wasn’t in any dream at the moment, staying like this was still draining his energy.

Suddenly, a thought popped up in his mind, and his eyes sparkled with a sharp glint.

’I managed to find those crystals by concentrating... shouldn’t that work with getting back to my body?’ He thought, closing his eyes.

He then tried visualising his physical body, as well as the image of his room.

He wasn’t sure if that was the right thing to do in this case, but it seemed like the most reasonable option.

A strange dizziness abruptly overtook him, as his consciousness drifted through the dream world.

And by the time he opened his eyes again, he found himself staring at the familiar ceiling of his room.

’It... worked.’ He mumbled, sighing in relief.

He then looked at his body, only to see that it was no longer transparent and ethereal, meaning, he had indeed gotten back to his real body!

[Impressive... I didn’t expect you to figure it out yourself.]

’Well, it’s not that hard.’ He thought, collapsing his back on the surface of his bed.

His brows furrowed as he thought about the things he still had left to do in the academy.

Though he would be going on his first mission without a few weeks, there were still quite a few things they still had to do before they would be allowed on their first mission.

However, there was one of those ’things’ in particular that kind of worried him, and that was when they would be taken to the church for sin confession.

’A confession... huh?’ He mumbled, snorting under his breath.

He already knew how much of a scam that was, through it was held in high regard by almost everyone in the academy.

During these confessions, the students would confess all their ’sins’ to a holy priest, and then they would ask for forgiveness from the goddess.

According to the church, this was important, as carrying the burden of sins to a mission could attract the wrath of the goddess.

’What bullshit...’ Liam thought, letting out a low sigh.
