Cucking The Demon King -
Chapter 33: Spar
Chapter 33: Spar
His gaze briefly shifted to a short, busty brown haired girl at the distance, and his expression turned ugly upon seeing how entranced she was by Liam.
Liam also noticed this, and couldn’t resist glancing at the girl, flashing a smile at her.
The girl immediately blushed in embarrassment, clutching her chest before turning her head away.
Meanwhile, Petras gasped, his eyes widening slightly.
’C-could it be... she blushed...’ He thought, thinking it was because of him.
He hadn’t seen Liam glance at her, so upon seeing her face redden all of a sudden, he felt like it was because of her feelings for him.
’Yes!’ He thought, making a low fist pump.
’That means, if I beat Liam... then all eyes would be on me instead. And even better... she would fall harder for me...’ He continued in his delusions, chuckling to himself.
His blessing might be weak, but he still felt like he was a lot better than Liam who didn’t even have any.
With such a weak body also, there was no way for Liam to win against him.
’This won’t just be a spar... it’ll be me putting trash like you in your place!’ He thought, alreasy imagining how pathetic Liam would look grovelling before him.
Liam on the other hand, had no idea what was going on in the mind of the fat pig in front of him, but from the look in his eyes, he could already guess his plan.
’Of course, you’ll never change.’ He thought, scoffing under his breath.
By now, every one of the students had already paired with a sparring partner, only waiting for the man’s next instructions.
Kurt’s eyes narrowed as he scanned the students, before settling on a young, white-haired man, who stood beside another chubby fellow.
"You two!" He suddenly shouted, pointing the long spear in his hands at them.
Some of the students subconsciously stepped back when they saw the bladed part of the spear suddenly point at them, among which included Petras.
However, Liam remained in the same spot, somehow ending up with even more eyes on him.
’I guess this is to be expected.’ He thought, looking back at the one who was supposed to be his sparring partner.
Petras cleared his throat, stepping towards Liam with a grin on his chubby, below average face.
’I didn’t expect to be the first... luck must be smiling at me today.’ He thought, his grin widening as he stepped forward.
The other students quickly cleared away, leaving Liam and Petras in the center, with more than enough space for their spar.
Arranged on the wall at the side were different kind of weapons, ranging from swords, to bow and arrows, and even more crude ones such as clubs.
Since this was a spar to test only their combat abilities, they were allowed to pick any weapon of their choice, but the usage of blessings were forbidden.
Liam’s eyes narrowed at the weapons laid before him, wondering which one would be more preferable for him.
He recalled the original Liam like to fight using dual swords, but due to his frail physique, he could barely even grip them, talk less of swing the blades.
He was mocked time and time again for this, and even the instructor personally advised him to change to a ’more suitable’ weapon.
Nonetheless, he refused, remaining adamant that he would continue using dual swords.
Liam’s eyes suddenly settled on a pair of short swords below, and a strange glint flickered through them.
He could still remember how hard he trained using those swords... all the sleepless nights he went through... all the hours he poured into training his body... just so he could learn how to weld them.
But despite all the training he did, his extremely weak constitution failed him, and his body remained frail, too weak to even hold a sword.
Even though these were supposed to be memories of the other Liam, he felt like he was the one who actually passed through all of it.
He could feel strange emotions slowly bubbling up within him, and before he realized, he had clenched his fists.
"Just pick a weapon and don’t waste my time!" Petras’ loud shout from behind broke him out of his thoughts, and without thinking twice, he picked up the pair of swords.
"Hehe. Going for that again, how dumb are you?" Petras scoffed.
"But don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you." He continued, pointing the long sword he had chosen at Liam.
"There won’t be a need for that." Liam replied, still staring at the short swords in his hands.
After sorting out his thoughts, he walked towards the fat youth, taking a simple stance in front of him.
The instructor took a step behind, his spear still firmly held in his hands.
"Don’t forget, the use of blessings or any form of enhancement is against the rules. You are free to injure your opponent, but you must not kill them." He said, his deep voice echoing in the ears of all the students.
"You win by either knocking your opponent out, or by them surrendering."
"And now..." He continued, slowly lifting his spear up.
"Start!" He shouted, suddenly hitting the butt of the spear on the ground.
Thud!
A slight tremor spread across the ground from the point of collision, filling the air with a loud thud.
He slowly lifted his spear up, revealing a dent left by the butt of his spear.
Even though he only hit his spear on the ground, the impact was like an elephant slamming its foot on the ground.
That was due to his power, called Light-Heavy, a powerful epic-ranked blessing which allowed him to instantly shift the weight of whatever he touched.
He could make it very light; even lighter than a feather, or very heavy, up to the weight of a large elephant.
However, the students were already quite used to this act of his, so it wasn’t too surprising anymore.
"Be careful Liam, so you don’t stag yourself by mistake." Petras said, letting out a mocking chuckle.
"You should be careful too, so you don’t trip on your fat belly." Liam replied, pointing at the boy’s stomach, which could barely be contained by his shirt.
"H-how dare you?!" Petras shouted, charging forward with his blade aimed at Liam.
