Chapter 58: Just a few more minutes

"Good morning." Eamon greeted, impressed with how thoughtful his mate was.

"It certainly a good morning for me." Valerion smirked as he swiftly flipped Eamon over, his body hovering over him.

Eamon’s eyes held a mix of surprise and amusement as he looked at Valerion who was looking at him like he was breakfast.

"I want to kiss you." Valerion informed him of his intentions and Eamon’s cheeks flushed as he recalled his morning breath.

"My breath isn’t very pleasant." He whispered and Valerion chuckled softly in disbelief. His mate was getting cuter each day.

"Mine as well but I still want to kiss you. Will you let me kiss you ?" He asked, making puppy dogs eyes he knew Eamon couldn’t resist.

"Yes." Eamon gave in, knowing he wanted to kiss him just as much.

Valerion’s lips landed on his in a light kiss whose intensity increased as Valerion trailed one of his hands along Eamon’s leg, daringly grabbing his lower thigh.

Eamon reluctantly broke their kiss, trying to catch his breath as he recalled he had an appointment with his friends that morning.

Tia and Eros had promised to show him around the dragon kingdom as Valerion carried out his duties at the royal court.

"If we keep this up, I am going to be late for my appointment." Eamon explained as he tried to roll Valerion over but the dragon couldn’t budge.

"Just a few more minutes." Valerion coaxed as he kissed Eamon’s neck, earning him small moans of pleasure from his mate.

"Valerion!" Eamon gasped when the dragon lightly bit into his skin, making him aware that he did not intend to stop anytime soon.

"Five more minutes." Eamon gave in as he let Valerion kiss his collarbone that was now exposed as they dragon tugged at his night robe.

"Ten?" Valerion bargained and Eamon inhaled sharply, loving what the dragon was doing to chest.

At this rate, they were going to spend the entire morning in bed and Eamon really didn’t want to cancel his appointment.

"Seven." Eamon tried his stern solider voice but the attempt was ruined when he sighed in pleasure as Valerion ran his tongue over his nipple.

"Alright, but I get to have you all to myself this afternoon." Valerion proposed and Eamon smirked as he pulled him in for another kiss.

"Deal." Eamon readily agreed, already looking forward to the afternoon.

Valerion reluctantly let go of Eamon’s hand once they arrived at the courthouse that morning and Eamon kissed him goodbye, the gesture a little comforting.

Valerion didn’t want to totally let Eamon out of his sight but he also knew that he couldn’t be hovering over his mate all the time like he had done the previous week.

Eamon needed his space as well and Valerion let himself relax once he had sent a couple of his cousin’s most skilled guards to keep an eye on his mate.

"Someone’s in an exceptionally good mood today." Tia teased as they left the royal court and Eros patted Eamon’s shoulder in a way that was meant to irritate him.

"What’s that supposed to mean? Is being happy in the morning a crime?" Eamon tried hard not to blush since he knew they were disturbing him because of his increasingly cheesy public relationship with Valerion.

He was no longer uncomfortable with public displays of affection and Valerion was to blame for that. Eamon could no longer help himself.

"Oh please! We have known you long enough to know that you are not exactly a morning person." Eros dismissed his questions with a smirk that made Eamon know he was now fully exposed.

"That is not true." Eamon made a futile attempt to deny the accusation and Tia scrutinized him.

"I have counted all the times you’ve kicked Eros for teasing you. Six out of eight of those kicks were in the morning." Tia pulled out the records and Eamon threw his hands up in defeat while Eros grinned. He was enjoying this.

"Okay fine, I am a bit happier this morning." Eamon agreed and Tia smiled, enjoying her victory.

"A bit? You are positively beaming. Spill the tea. What has my charming uncle done now?" Eros asked and Tia was equally curious and they both gave him the classic look of practiced patience as they waited for him to satisfy their curiosity.

"He told me he loved me." Eamon confessed, the tips of ears heating up as Eros and Tia’s faces lit up with excitement.

"And? What did you say in return?" Tia asked.

"I swear you are the worst story teller I know. You have to make us work really hard to get the complete story." Eros complained and Tia nodded in agreement.

"Of course I told him I love him." Eamon stated matter of factly and both Tia and Eros sighed in defeat when they realized they had to pry to find out more.

"So did you two....do it?" Eros to asked wriggling his eyebrows to convey the hidden meaning in his words and Tia chuckled when Eamon’s cheeks turned lobster red.

"I am not telling you about that." Eamon shrieked once he found his voice and his friends burst out laughing.

They were enjoying this a little too much and he consoled himself that his time to tease them could come much sooner.

"Where are we going?" He asked, changing the topic from his love life.

"Oh, that. Let’s first go to the market, we have to buy gift to the couple that’s having their mating ceremony today. Are you coming?" Tia responded once she managed to stop laughing.

"Yes, Valerion asked me to go with him. Is this a community thing. Is everyone invited to the ceremony?" Eamon asked as he noticed how crowed the market was. There were numerous people at stalls having gifts wrapped.

"Yes, everyone’s invited. Most celebrations around here are done as a community." Eros explained as they came to a stop before a stall that was selling golden and silver jewelry.

"The bride really likes jewelry. She is from the clan that really likes shiny stuff." Tia pointed out and Eamon’s curiosity was piqued. He had never heard of dragon clans. He had thought it was just one big kingdom.

"Clan?" He asked and Eros decided to educate his friend as he picked up a golden necklace.
