Chapter 53: careful seduction

"I think I want to stay here with you." Aya replied within a heartbeat, unable to imagine living without her mother.

Dinner continued amidst lively conversation and by the time it was done, Alexander felt quite blessed as he watched his family.

He had everything he needed right in front of him and he was grateful.

It had been several days since Valerion had stumbled into Eamon’s life and made it more colorful. The dragon was sensitive and romantic and Eamon was falling harder in love with him with each passing day.

Yes, he was falling in love with Valerion and it made him happy.

"You are smiling." Valerion’s deeply hypnotic voice sounded from the entrance to the kitchen as he watched his mate that had insisted on cooking for him.

Eamon’s forest green eyes lit up as they captured the enticing view of Valerion who was dressed in a more revealing dragon attire that exposed his toned chest and muscular biceps. The black kilt he wore complimented the golden jewelry that adorned his forearms and chest and Eamon gulped softly once his eyes met the smokey grey ones that were watching him intently.

He subtly licked his lips to moisten them and help momentarily put aside the shameless ways in which he wanted to seduce Valerion. His thoughts could have to wait because it was Valerion’s birthday and he wanted to cook for him.

"I was thinking about you." Eamon murmured as he reluctantly tore his eyes from Valerion and continued to chop the onions he needed to make soup.

"Scandalous thoughts?" Valerion smirked and Eamon’s cheeks flashed a deep crimson. They had grown quite close but Valerion always found ways of making him blush.

"I am not telling you" Eamon whispered and Valerion feigned a displeased look. If this continued, whatever he was cooking was going to get burnt and Eamon was going to end up in Valerion’s arms like the numerous times before.

Seduction was Valerion’s strongest weapon against Eamon’s defenses and the cheeky dragon knew how to wield it so damned well.

"But I want to know what’s going on in your head, Eamon. Surely you can’t be so cruel?" Valerion purred seductively as he started to walk towards him, his eyes burning hot with desire.

Eamon smirked, knowing too well that he was enjoying this.

"Alright, I will tell you. I was thinking of pushing you up against a wall and kissing your neck as my hands trailed over your abs." Eamon replied brazenly as his forest eyes gleamed with a hunger that had Valerion utterly seduced.

Valerion’s lips parted slightly as he hastened his steps only for Eamon to dash away from him.

"No... I still have to cook." Eamon reasoned, knowing that he would lose himself if he let Valerion near him.

"But I am not really hungry." Valerion replied as his smoldering grey eyes took in Eamon’s body. He was hungry but not for food.

His dragon just wanted to pin Eamon beneath him and ravish him but he knew that despite their increased level of intimacy, Eamon was not yet ready and besides, Valerion wanted to do things right. He wanted Eamon to know that he loved him before he marked and claimed him.

Valerion inhaled deeply in an attempt to regain control and once his head was clear, his lips curled into a mischievous smile as he closed the distance between him and Eamon. For now, he could settle for a little teasing.

"Valerion!" Eamon shrieked as the dragon snaked his arms around his waist and pulled him closer.

"Can I kiss you?" Valerion asked innocently, his eyes magnetically drawing Eamon’s closer. Eamon was powerless to resist him because he knew that he wanted him just as much.

"Yes...Kiss me." Eamon breathed and Valerion was happy to oblige. Their lips met in a soft, lingering kiss that sent tremors of passion through their bodies as it deepened.

Eamon reluctantly pulled away, his breath labored as his eyes met Valerion’s in a dazed gaze.

"I will let you cook." Valerion whispered, knowing how important this was for Eamon even though all he wanted to kiss him again and again...

"Thank you." Eamon smiled as he placed a small kiss on Valerion’s cheek before dashing away to continue cooking.

After dinner, Valerion dragged Eamon to the bathing pools with the intention of monopolizing all his attention and seducing him.

"How old are you now?" Eamon wondered out loud as he remembered that Valerion was centuries old.

"Four hundred and twenty six." He replied and Eamon gasped softly in surprise. He already knew Valerion was ancient but he had not had a clue just how old! It did not really matter but it still intrigued him.

"You are literally immortal." Eamon grinned as he let Valerion walk him down the corridor that led to the pools.

It was a brief moment but Eamon felt Valerion tense before he returned his smile but he had a haunted look in his eyes, one that made Eamon frown. What was this powerful dragon afraid of?

"I am not immortal. There are a couple or more things that could kill me." Valerion explained his unspoken question and Eamon’s mind raced.

He had seen the flash of pain behind Valerion’s eyes in a few moments when the dragon had thought that he had done a good job of hiding it.

Valerion was hurting and the only thing Eamon wanted was to ease the pain. His fingers tightened around Valerion’s in a comforting grip as he decided not to pry despite his curiosity.

Eamon knew a thing or two about secrets and he decided to let Valerion open up to him when he was ready.

"Can we bathe together?" Valerion broke the silence and Eamon smirked.

"Yes." he replied as he looked at the steaming pool with anticipation. They had bathed together three times and Valerion had miraculously managed to keep his hands to himself but tonight, Eamon felt like it was going to be different.

"Eamon, since its my birthday. I was wondering if you could give me a present." Valerion’s husky voice made Eamon’s breath hitch as their eyes met in a heated gaze.

"A present?" Eamon repeated and Valerion smiled seductively.

"I want...I want to touch you." Valerion said, his eyes taking on a smoldering hue as he gazed at Eamon, waiting for his response.
