Chapter 87: Chapter 28: Tricking You_3
"Hey, if you want to fight, fight with me!" Gao Xin directly stood up and blocked in front of the white captain, Peter, with Su Lei also hurrying to follow.
Peter was stunned, "What’s it to you if I beat him up!"
Gao Xin glared at him coldly, without showing any fear even though the other was a head taller, "I’m the captain of Team 09. You hit my team member, and you’re asking if it’s my business?"
"What?" Everyone froze, and someone muttered, "Wow, really getting into the role, aren’t we? Got the job pretty quick, huh?"
"Kid, do you know that, out of the entire Salvation Group’s three thousand Glass People, I am the leader of the pack."
Gao Xin looked at Peter, "The leader of the pack is still just a sheep; aren’t we all just slaves? What’s there to be arrogant about?"
"You..." Peter’s brown pupils dilated; he had no comeback and stared at the fearless Gao Xin, then at Su Lei beside him, and then at Qiao Long’s group of team leaders who formed an alliance behind them.
In terms of quality, his own side was stronger, but in terms of numbers, Qiao Long’s alliance had more, as it mostly consisted of medium to low-tier teams banding together.
Normally, he wouldn’t care about numbers, as they weren’t worth anything. Just beat the leader and that’s it.
But the one taking the lead now was Gao Xin!
Gao Xin might not have looked robust, but his track record was solid. He had killed a 150kg heavy Japanese enforcer, Oyama Mas!
Though Luo Ban said he had been careless, it was a fight to the death! Even being careless, the fact that he could kill meant he was awesome!
Peter eventually said, "Alright, alright, Gao Xin, this is a hospital; don’t disturb the patients’ rest."
"Tonight! I’ll be waiting for you at the execution grounds."
Saying this, he led his men away.
He might have backed down, but he wasn’t completely cowed. After all, he had to maintain his authority as the leader of one of the Glass People’s elite teams.
If Gao Xin wouldn’t join him and wasn’t under his direct control, then he would have to be suppressed by force and influence. When it came to the number of tough guys, he was not lacking.
Gao Xin, however, wasn’t interested in all that. What could they do if he didn’t go?
He was only thinking about leaving this place, and immediately followed Qiao Long away.
This was a camp far from the center of the village, complete with dormitory-like buildings, a hospital, and a cafeteria.
It certainly seemed a step up from the quarters for hard laborers.
Obviously, in order to make the slaves work hard, the other aspects of their treatment couldn’t be too harsh.
The system even offered quite a bit of leeway to the outstanding teams, probably operating on the notion that a horse starved at night won’t gain weight. As long as the required number of redemption vouchers was met, the Japanese turned a blind eye.
On their way, Gao Xin and the others got to know each other a bit. Qiao Long was preparing to take Gao Xin to the dormitory building where Team 09 was located to discuss serious matters.
But Gao Xin waved his hand and said, "Wait a moment. There’s no rush for that. Let me ask, am I allowed to leave the base and move about freely?"
Qiao Long explained, "Uh... you can’t just move around freely. Outside of the games, your activity is limited to the Salvation Group’s campgrounds."
"To leave, you must be led by the team captain."
Gao Xin nodded, "Alright, I need to go out now."
Qiao Long raised an eyebrow, "Where to? You’re not planning to... right now, are you?"
It was obvious he knew Gao Xin planned to escape, but who among the slaves didn’t want to run? As long as no strict rule was violated, even if the Japanese found out, they might not react too severely.
Gao Xin asked, "Do you know where Rousi lives?"
"Ah... this..." Qiao Long frowned slightly, looking somewhat troubled.
Gao Xin caught on; he definitely knew where Rousi lived and urgently said, "Please take me there. It’s very important to me."
"Alright!" Qiao Long agreed.
He told Liu Xu to return to the base first, then he himself, along with Gao Xin and Su Lei, left the camp, heading straight for Rousi’s residence.
As Qiao Long explained, most of the Black Hand Group members lived at various training camps, doing hard training all day.
But Rousi was an officer and had her own independent residence in the village center, with a personal training ground.
It was a detached single-family home, covering a thousand square meters, located around the second ring of Yamaguchi Village.
Upon closer inspection, there was a cute, chubby pink doll hung by the door, instantly revealing that the owner of the house had a girlish heart...
"We’re here..." Qiao Long said in a low voice.
Gao Xin hadn’t expected it to be so easy and said, "I thought I’d have to go through a lot of hurdles, but you brought me here so easily."
Qiao Long said, "This is the residential area of Yamaguchi Village. As long as you have enough redemption vouchers, anyone can buy a house here..."
"I was hesitant earlier because I’m worried you might cause trouble... Not only is Rousi a medical personnel, her combat strength is also extremely high, and she holds a high position within the Black Hand Group."
"If she gets annoyed, our whole team might have to bear the consequences, especially since I led you out..."
Gao Xin nodded, understanding that here, combatants were often measured by their weight, and in terms of weight, who could compete with Rousi?
The woman must weigh nearly a ton, right? Even at the level of a sub-wolf, she would have the strength of fifteen tons! She could easily squash Sasaki with a slap!
Qiao Long was taking a risk by bringing him here; if something went wrong, he would be held responsible.
"Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing," Gao Xin said lightly.
Qiao Long pursed his lips, "I know who you’re looking for, so I won’t go with you. Just visit like normal. The doorbell is right there; just don’t scale the wall, the house has an automatic defense system."
He and Su Lei backed off to the corner of the wall, watching as Gao Xin approached alone and pressed the doorbell.
Soon, a man’s headshot projection appeared on the wall: "May I ask who you are and what you need?"
Gao Xin didn’t recognize the man and had to say, "I’ve come to thank Lady Rousi for saving my life yesterday."
The man said, "Lady Rousi is not at home, please visit again in the evening."
When Gao Xin heard she wasn’t home, he actually felt relieved and counter-asked, "Are you Lady Rousi’s servant?"
