Among the trees, Luo Yan and the others advanced in fits and starts.

As they neared the highest peak, two ferocious dogs suddenly emerged from the jungle ahead, barking wildly at them.

But Meimei had already grasped his intention and, placing her hand on his, said, "Enough, let’s hurry on our way, let’s go this way."

She indicated another path.

The group immediately followed; there were no set paths in the mountain, any direction would do.

Choosing not to take the high ground, they moved laterally around the peak, which amounted to the same thing.

Moving swiftly with wolves as their escort, they quickly skirted that highest peak.

Before they realized it, the group had reached a stony platform.

There were clearly split logs and signs of campfires.

Luo Yan was startled and turned back to Su Lei: "You discovered people earlier, didn’t you?"
