Diana noticed his rushed movements and her hand reached out to check if there was drool on her face that made him feel disgusted.

When his words started sinking in, she lowered her head and glanced at the girl who was peacefully sleeping in his arms.

’’Am I dreaming?" she questioned in a daze.

’’You were,’’ he told her.

The sky was still partially dark and she realized that she must have dozed off on him.

Being the cute sheep that he was, he did not bother to wake her up. He even stayed in the same position he was in when they were talking and he kept holding Angel.

But she remembered there was still enough distance between them. They were practically sitting on opposite sides of the bench when they were talking, ’’How did we end up in that position?" she did not realize and ended up voicing her question loudly instead of saying it in her head.

Since the milk was spilled, she looked at him for an answer.

’’Bad sleeping habits,’’ the man said with a straight face.

Diana choked on her saliva, ’’I sleep as elegantly as a swan, okay?" But then, she could not be sure.

She was so tired yesterday that she did not even realize when she dozed off so it was possible she sleep-crawled to him.

Indeed, it was possible for her swan-self to have transformed into a duck.

She even had such a weird dream.

Shame consumed her from top to bottom.

’’You should go and catch up on sleep. It’s almost dawn,’’ She quickly pushed herself to her feet and took Angel from his arms.

The little girl obviously did not like getting her sleep interrupted hence she whined with a drowsy face.

Diana patted her back and cooed her back to sleep as she rushed inside the house without turning to look at the chocolate pastry friend she abandoned back there.

Once she was gone, Maxim’s calm facade crumpled. He raised his hand and traced the marks she had left on his neck.

A feral look passed in his eyes as he recounted the day when he reckoned that letting her stay 24X7 around him was an absolutely normal and harmless thing to do.

As Diana placed Angel on the bed, the girl yawned like a princess. Very elegantly. And then, she continued sleeping peacefully.

She slumped back on the bed as she raised her hand and stroked her lips.

Diana could not contact her elder sister right now because she was afraid of her parents tracking them down. She did not want to make that kind of silly move.

So, her priority right now was only Angel.

But in a small corner of her heart, she knew that she also valued the newfound friendship with Maxim.

Diana rolled to the side and squished the girl in her arms. Her personal lucky charm.
