Diana looked at her, ’’Families like ours have many enemies. And everyone has different way of dealing with them. Daisy and I were separated when we were young. Part of reason why our parents sent us to different schools and kept us far away from each other was probably to let us keep a low profile,’’ Diana did not mention the other part of the reason which was to invoke a strong sense of competitive spirit between her and Daisy so that they could always try to outshine each other and be the deserving heir they needed.

Unfortunately for their parents, Daisy and Diana were not the kind of siblings who would try to bite each other for wealth or inheritance. Rather, both of them were happy if the other one willingly took that ’burden’.

Because hile Diana and Daisy were different from each other in many ways, the one thing they had in common was that both of them loved freedom.

Ivy nodded thoughtfully.

"Their family affairs should be handled amongst themselves when they do it,’’ Diana looked at Daisy after giving it a thought, ’’But till then, I don’t want to sit and do nothing.’’

Probably because she overthought situations a lot, it was uncomfortable for her to not know where things were heading to.

If one thing failed, she would want to have four other plans that might work.

She was still worried about Louis’ reaction if he woke up and his guards’ action if he didn’t. Moreover, Louis being a part of Qin Family was still not a confirmed fact.

’’Daisy... Help me recover the contacts on my old phone.’’

Diana’s resolute words surprised Daisy, ’’If I do that, our parents will track you down... and find us here.’’

When Diana remained silent, Daisy said, ’’I thought you were unwilling to meet them.’’

’’I was unwilling, not unprepared,’’ Diana had prepared herself for it since the day she asked Old Master Qin to recover her certificates from the medical school.

But surprisingly, her father’s people did not manage to find her even after that. She found it rather strange.

Moreover, after she reunited with Daisy, Diana had nothing to fear anymore. Back when she came to LA, she was unemployed and she was not even the biological mother of Angel and it worried her that her parents would probably snatch Angel’s custody if things did not work out in their favour. But now not only was she not unemployed anymore, Angel had also met her bioligical father.

And Diana had no intention of running from things any further.

If they wanted to find her, she will let them.

At the Qins’ Mansion.

Inside the study room, Qin Zehan sat on the throne chair behind the mahogany desk.

His fingers occasionally twirled the paperweight in his hand while his other hand rested on a thick file, flipping the pages in distinct intervals.

The doors and windows were locked, the curtains were drawn close, forbidding the sunlight from entering the study.

He raised his hand and raked his fingers through his black hair, strands of silver hair fell to his forehead, glistening under the lights of the luxurious chandeliers.

’’Have you gone dumb?" Qin Zehan tilted his head and glanced at his laptop when there was a stillness on the face of the visible person.

The secretary who was sitting frozen finally found his voice, ’’Uh... President, I had dispatched some men to keep their eyes on the Old Master but they were discovered by him.’’

’’Not surprising,’’ Qin Zehan raised a brow. He would be more surprised if his father did not realize that he was being tailed.

’’The weather condition is not good here but the Old Master is safe. He is overseeing some disputes in the headquarters of Artemis hospital. I asked him to visit the company to take a look at things here but he said that he...’’ The secretary stuttered, ’’That... he... um... he is not as idle as you.’’

Qin Zehan’s face turned blank.

Handling the conglonmerate of Qin Family was being idle?

’’Also, he was talking about returning to LA soon as someone is stirring up trouble in the branch hospital there and he is concerned about Young Master’s safety.’’

’’Alex?" At the mention of his son, Qin Zehan closed the file and tapped on the desk, ’’I will take a look there later.’’

’’Yes.’’

’’What about Logan Parker?" He did not usually bother with such trifles but for some reason, the image of that woman who turned her back on him and ran away kept reappearing in his mind. And on top of that, his father’s strange reaction... there something pecualiar about it that did not let him let the matter rest, ’’Did you investigate him?"

’’Yes. But we haven’t gained much,’’ When he felt Qin Zehan’s piercing gaze, he immediately started blabbering all the information that he had gathered about Logan Parker, ’’Logan Parker. Age-29. Eye Color...’’

’’Do you think I am putting my son up for matchmaking?" Qin Zehan mumbled as he picked up the paperweight and observed it closely.

The secretary shivered, ’’He was an orphan initially. When he was a child, he was adopted and raised by an old lady and after she died, he joined military. But years ago, he had a major accident during one of his missions.

He was brought to the LA City Hospital with severe injuries on his head. He was in a disguise because of his mission and his identity was not disclosed, hence the source of his grave wounds remained suspicious, due to which the doctors refused to treat him before the arrival of authorities.

But surprisingly, a doctor named Maxim Warner went against the orders and operated on him without waiting for the authorities. Since Logan Parker was a Navy Seal at that time, it stirred up some trouble but that doctor somehow managed to get out of the whole mess without a scratch.

And from what I know, that doctor now works at Artemis Hospital and he is quite famous in there. Also... he is rather close to the Old Master.’’

’’Maxim Warner.’’ Qin Zehan stroked his chin, ’’Continue,’’ he said after a moment.
