Corpse Recovery Diver -
Chapter 448 - 81
Chapter 448: Chapter 81
"Just give a random clue for fun..."
Tan Wenbin and Yin Meng exchanged incredulous looks through the door and windows.
How could something like this be taken so lightly, how could it be considered just for fun? Don’t they realize, doing so could ruin a peer’s entire life?
Tan Wenbin remembered the scene he saw in Wu Xinhui’s memory when the two confronted each other:
"Why are you framing me, why are you framing me, why!"
"It’d be better if you were dead, it’d be better if you were dead, then no one would know!"
So, Wu Xinhui chased after the fleeing Zhao Junfeng with a dagger so fiercely, not because he was the murderer, but just to carry through with this "joke"?
How can such inconceivable logic and motivation arise!
Tan Wenbin whispered, "I don’t understand..."
Inside the room, Mao Chang’an’s fierce laughter echoed:
"Hahahahahaha!"
Obviously, the person who found it most incomprehensible and unbearable was him.
He had meticulously schemed step by step, pretending to be ignorant while constantly keeping an eye on the progress, and even sacrificed his own son for it. And yet, this was the outcome he ended up with.
"Please, let us go, we’ll give you anything you want."
"Right right, let us go, we won’t speak of today’s events, we swear to keep it a secret."
Mao Chang’an’s laughter ceased. Right now, he wished he could inflict brutal torture on these two people, to torment them to the fullest, but unfortunately, Wu Xinhui died too quickly – what a bargain for him.
However, just as Mao Chang’an raised his hand and the silver needles appeared at his fingertips, he stopped himself.
From outside the window, Li Zhiyuan noticed this detail and his gaze slightly hardened.
The old bastard is a tough nut to crack, even with his plans collapsed and in such fury, he is still wary of Heavenly Dao and forcibly suppresses his impulse to not make a move.
He truly loves himself.
At this moment, the fragrance of the blood incense had burned out.
The previously bright array patterns painted on the floor tiles at the entrance had instantly turned into peeling paint worn by age.
Zhao Junfeng and Qiu Minmin, standing side by side, began to wobble, and liquid continuously seeped out of their bodies. Due to the damage to the puppets, they were now in a state of malfunction.
Mao Chang’an waved his hand and said with heartfelt advice, "You two are innocent, run quickly, and be safe."
"Thank you, thank you!"
"Thank you, thank you!"
As if pardoned, Zhu Hongyu and Liu Xinya got up and started to flee, but the beguiling array laid by Mao Zhushan while he was alive was still in effect; they circled on the spot for a long time but still couldn’t escape the entrance.
Such a simple array could be broken by Mao Chang’an with a wave of his hand, but he did not do so. Instead, he covered his face, sobbed about his deceased son and the horrors that occurred here, and walked out of the entrance to kneel down with a "thump," continuing to confess to the heavens.
Clearly, he had no intention of letting go of those two women, yet he didn’t want to dirty his own hands.
Zhao Junfeng and Qiu Minmin stopped wobbling, a rich scent of Corpses emanating from their bodies - Zhao Junfeng’s was stronger, while Qiu Minmin’s seemed weaker, perhaps because the latter had recently suffered a serious injury.
The two Corpses instinctively turned toward the two women still running inside the room and stepped toward them, one by one.
Zhu Hongyu and Liu Xinya screamed as they backed away, their backs nearly pressed against the door, close to where Li Zhiyuan and the others were hiding and peeking inside.
Tan Wenbin and Yin Meng’s expressions changed slightly on their faces, as they now only needed to show themselves to save these two.
But clearly, neither of them were willing to do so. Not only did no one attempt to consult Xiao Yuan’s opinion behind them, but one turned away while the other simply lowered their head.
Tan Wenbin: "Did you see the two Corpses attacking to kill?"
Yin Meng caught on immediately and replied, "Didn’t see anything."
Tan Wenbin hesitated for a moment, feeling that saying so wasn’t good, and rephrased the question:
"Did you just see Zhu Hongyu and Liu Xinya run out of the entrance?"
"I saw it, they just ran out!"
"That’s great, they’ve escaped, they are safe."
"Yeah, I’m really happy for them."
When people do things against "public morality and decency," they often find an excuse for themselves so their conscience won’t be burdened and they won’t fall into self-torment.
Many people died inside the room that night, and they’ve been watching from the outside. If they had acted sooner, maybe most of the people inside wouldn’t have died, but why should they intervene?
Ran Qiuping and Sun Hongxia had once attacked them; Run Sheng was still recuperating in bed from his injuries; as for Mao Zhushan, whose death was well-deserved, his own father and master didn’t care; and regarding Wu Xinhui and the others... it’s like being deliberately blind.
After sorting out their thoughts, Tan Wenbin and Yin Meng both relaxed, their consciences clear.
Even the consecutive screams coming from the inside of the room didn’t make them feel any compassion or guilt.
Li Zhiyuan stood in the back the whole time, witnessing their internal struggles. Anyway, apart from the "explanation to Heavenly Dao," he would never have this process in his heart.
Everyone inside the room was dead, and Mao Chang’an stood up, wiping away tears as he entered the room.
His expression changed from shock to compassion and finally to anger:
"You two evildoers, dare to harm living beings right under my watch!"
Tan Wenbin couldn’t help but comment, "Truly a veteran actor."
