Contract Marriage starring Love and Revenge
Chapter 95. Whispers in a party.

Chapter 95: 95. Whispers in a party.

"Should we just skip the stupid party?" I ask as the fresh scent of shampoo, soap and a clean skin is a little too intoxicating for me. I want to keep kissing him. I want to be kissed by him.

"Dearest, this is very dangerous right now. So you have to be certain that you mean those words because any further and I really won’t hold myself back."

But I do want to go to Aunt Evelyn’s party. I want to gloat with a sinister smile on my face. I want to see her and Alicia red with anger, and although aunt usually knows how to control her emotions, she sometimes loses it. I want to see her lose it.

However, not as bad as I want this man holding me right now. Oh, Duke Grand, you have no idea the things you do to me.

I place one last kiss on his neck and then I take a look at the beautiful map I’ve drawn round his neck. A map of bite and suck marks. Yep, this much will do. I like my handwork.

"Get dress, my dear Grand Duke, we’ll continue in the car." I whisper and bite his ear and a soft and deep growl escapes his lips.

"You can’t take that back." He says.

"I won’t. We’ll continue in the car." I say and he finally sets me down, with the same motion he turns me around and zips up my dress.

"Give me ten minutes." He says with a kiss on my cheek.

"That’s enough time for me to redo my lipstick." I say.

"Don’t bother, it’ll only get smeared in the car again." He says with a dirty smirk on his face before walking away from me.

My cheeks are burning!! My cheeks are seriously burning. My chest is ticklish, my stomach is twisting and turning in the most remarkably sweet way, my knees are trembling and my there’s a tingle in my toe. How is it possible that I still feel this way?

I mean, how?

I’ve been with this man, we’ve done everything to gather, we’ve seen each other naked, we’ve kissed and touched every part of each other’s bodies, we’ve bathed to gather, we’ve rubbed each other’s backs. We’ve basically done everything a couple would do together so how in the world do I still feel the same way every damn time?

It still feels new, fresh and thrilling. Although I act bold sometimes, I’m still very shy when he touches me. I still act like a teenage girl with her first crush. I like being with Duke. There’s never a dull moment with him around me.

...

Duke didn’t spend past the ten minutes he had asked for and I didn’t bother reapplying my lipstick because like he had said it would only disappear again, so I’ll just take it with me instead.

Duks is also in an all black suit and I think I’ve said it before but this man looks exceptionally sexy in black. He makes me blush and wonder, "Is that really my husband?" He’s too good looking for me.

With no rush whatsoever, we say goodbye to the twins. Alan said he would be sleeping over and is having a movie night with the twins and Gio. Right now they’re still trying to figure out which cartoon to watch.

And yeah, as if they were all paid beforehand, they hyped and praised me for looking good. The twins even asked if Duke gave me a good kiss because I looked very pretty and he replied by saying he planned on doing just that.

Again, I get that sweet feeling inside me.

Duke hired a driver for the night and he was already waiting for us. After. saying our goodbyes for the umpteenth time, we enter the back seats of the car and as soon as the partition is shut close, separating us from the driver, Duke pulls me onto his thighs and with no complaints whatsoever, I wrap my arms around his shoulder and the things that follows are a sexual secret I’m going to keep to myself.

...

The fact that we’re two hours late and I’m still fixing my makeup now with no rush is farther funny. I remember a time I would not have dared to be late to an even hosted by aunt Evelyn. She hated seeing me in such events but she hated tardiness even more. She saw it as a form of disrespect and yet here I am, hand in hand with my husband after, catwalking into the venue by ten fifteen minutes past eight and I don’t even care at all.

"Are you ready, dearest?" He asks and I look up at him my gaze shifts to the design my mouth left on his neck back at the house and in the car, and I so proud of myself.

"I am." I reassure him and he nods.

We walk up to the door, I bring out our invitation card from my purse and show it to the huge men at the door and the doors to the place opens.

Here comes the drama.

...

Since I married Duke and literally turned my life around, I’ve gotten quite used to people’s stare. In the crowd there’s always those who are burning with jealousy, those who think I’m beautiful, and those who sincerely think I look good with Duke.

However, before Duke the kind of stares I used to get in parties held by aunt Evelyn or grandpa where stares of pity. Amidst the crowds, I’d occasionally hear them whispering to each other pointing at me and saying things like, "Poor girl, she lost her parents when she was so very young. What a pity, her father was a fine young man. Oh is that that her? The granddaughter of Mr Gold whose son died? She looks so simple and humble, what a shame she lost her parents at a young age."

Those were the usual comments.

But today, their whispers have changed from pity to unbelief.

"Is that Champagne? That’s her, isn’t it? Oh my gosh, I heard she was kicked out of the family. I thought she was suffering in a single room somewhere," Seriously? Suffering in a single room somewhere? Well, I guess if not for Duke, my life would have been something like that. "But wow, she looks good." I know I do.

"Is that really Champagne?" Yes darling, it is I, Champagne, formerly Fletcher but now Grand. "My goodness, was she always that beautiful?" According to Duke, yes, I was. I just didn’t see it but now he’s made me understand my worth so I can show it and you can see it. I was always this beautiful.

"I heard her husband divorced her after she was kicked out of the family," Well, technically he divorced me before I was kicked out, I just didn’t know it. "Who is that young hunk walking with her?" My man, darling. He’s my man.

"Haven’t you heard? She remarried soon after she divorced." Indeed I did, and no one knows how happy I am that I did.

"Don’t you know him? He’s one of the sons of Harford." The most handsome one, don’t forget that part.

"I never knew champagne was that beautiful." I don’t blame you, I didn’t know either. Thanks to Duke, I do now. "Damn I would have taken her then when they wanted to arrange a marriage between us." Huh! Hah! Dream on.

"Champagne? Is that her?" It is me. "Champagne Gold?"

"I heard she’s Champagne Grand now," Thank you. "that handsome stud beside her should be the son of Harford I’ve heard about, Duke Grand." Oh, Duke really has his fan girls in this crowd. I don’t blame them though, he really is a stud.

"Wasn’t she married to that doctor who’s been on the news lately?" Was. I was.

"Didn’t you hear that he divorced her after she was kicked out of the family?" No, the bastard already divorced me before I was kicked out.

"Well, thank God for her. I mean, her name would have been dragged in the mud along with the idiot if she was still with him. He did her good by divorcing him." Indeed, I think so too. In fact the divorce is the biggest gift that idiot ever gave me. If he hadn’t done that how would I have met Duke? I’m so grateful for that divorce. If I ever see him I will tell him just how grateful I am.

"But, they do look good together, don’t you think?" Indeed we do. I saw the two of us in the mirror before we left the room and I can’t argue that fact. We look too good together.

"But what is that on their necks, don’t tell me-"

"Oh my goodness it looks fresh too."

"Does that mean they were at it while they were coming here?"

"Hah! How shameless."

"I think it’s more bold than shameless."

"What are you even saying? Shouldn’t they at least control themselves when they know they’re coming to a party? Or cover it up?"

"Why should they be ashamed? They are married after all."

"I heard rumors that it was just a marriage of convenience, I don’t think that’s true."

"Do those marks on their neck look like a joke to you? That’s the sign of a new couple with hot blood running in their veins in their honeymoon phase."

What can I say? Everyday with Duke feels like I’m living in my honeymoon phase on a daily basis
