"Ma’am?"

"Yeah Stella, I can’t find the file on the list of all failed projects of Harford foods I asked for."

"One second ma’am. I am certain I put it on your desk and— oh! No, it’s here. Sorry ma’am." She hangs up and almost instantaneously she tottles into my office with a file in her hand.

"I am so sorry Ma’am. I was so sure I had submitted it to your desk while you were at the meeting." She apologizes as she hands the file over to me.

"It’s alright, just always make sure you double check." I say as I adjust my glasses on my nose and begin to go through the file.

My ears catch the words that are coming from the television. The words caught my attention because I am very familiar with that particular hospital.

"At first I thought he was merely bluffing but then he showed me pictures of my ultrasound, picutes of my pregnancy test results, and even an entire video of me undergoing the abortion. He threatened to expose me to my school and parents if I didn’t give him what he asked for. I tried to explain to him that I was from a poor home and there was nowhere I could get that amount of money from!
