She had grown accustomed to silence in front of Shi Che; after all, whatever she said or did, a careless move could easily anger him. Gradually, she dared not speak or do anything random in front of him. In his presence, she was like a puppet.

But today, perhaps because the carriage was too small, too constricting, she kept feeling somewhat breathless. The silence inside was eerily quiet, so unnerving that it made one feel uneasy without realizing it.
