Chapter 431 - 431: His Intention

After holding each other in their warm embrace for quite some time, Anastasia and Tilla finally pulled away from each other.

Anastasia then finally looked around her and realized that she was surrounded by more than a dozen of people. Her face turned red with embarrassment in no time because she wasn't acting like a Queen at all.

Thinking that the onlookers would think badly of her, Anastasia quickly composed herself and looked at Vincent.

Vincent immediately gave a polite bow to the Queen and welcomed her, "My Queen, I am much honored to have you here at my humble abode. Thank you for gracing us with your presence."

Anastasia felt even more embarrassed when Vincent began talking to her in an extremely formal manner. She nervously nodded and then said while looking around at the maids and servants who had lined up to welcome her, "And thank you for this grand welcome."

"This way, Your Majesty." Vincent instantly gestured his hand towards the entrance of the mansion and then led her inside his mansion.

All of the maids and servants greeted the Queen as she walked past them. Though they didn't show it, they were greatly honored to have the Queen as a guest in the mansion.

Penelope was even more excited because she had never thought that there would come a day when the Royals would visit the mansion that barely got visited by its own owner.

Vincent took quite a few turns along the corridor before finally leading Anastasia and Tilla toward the grandest room of the mansion.

That room was decorated with vintage furniture and beautiful paintings. It had a high ceiling from which a beautiful chandelier hung down. The room was also more airy and spacious, not very dark and cozy like how most vampires preferred. And to add to that, there was a fire going on in the fireplace.

Anastasia looked around the room in awe and praised, "This living room is very beautiful and warm." She looked at Vincent and further said, "You have a beautiful home, Lord Vincent."

Vincent smiled humbly and replied while darting his eyes around the room, "Please think of this as your own home. This was all provided by Caspian after all. So…"

"But it's now yours, isn't it?" Anastasia smiled and looked for Tilla.

Tilla was standing by the door, wondering if she should also get in or wait for the two of them to finish their conversation first.

Anastasia extended her hand to Tilla and asked, "Tilla, come and sit with me. We have so much to catch up on."

"Yes!" Tilla excitedly smiled and trotted towards her friend. She then held Anastasia's hand and allowed her friend to drag her along towards the grand sofa.

The two of them sat beside each other and immediately began their conversation.

Vincent was happy to see that playfulness of Tilla, and also her bright smile. 'I think I should let them chat to their heart's content. They're meeting after a long time.' He thought of leaving the two of them alone for now and quietly made himself scarce from the room.

Anastasia, on the other hand, was asking Tilla, "So, how's your back? Lord Vincent kept me in the loop about your health. But I just couldn't sit around and wait for you to return to me."

Tilla got emotional once more after knowing how desperate Anastasia was to meet her, and also how worried her friend was regarding her health.

She looked down as the rims of her eyes filled with tears and then replied to Anastasia, "I am getting better day by day. I can walk short distances but the pain will return if I don't lie down right after the walk."

"Oh, Tilla…" Anastasia held Tilla's hands and sighed. "I wish you never encountered those horrible maids."

Her eyes suddenly turned sad and she began to talk about how Tilla could have avoided that encounter. "Maybe I should have done something about your room sooner. I knew that you stayed in the same quarter as all the other vampires but I never imagined one of them attacking you…"

"It's not your fault that I was bullied." Tilla sighed and blamed herself for bringing that misfortune upon herself.

However, that incident also brought about a new turning point in her life. She got the love confession from the very man who had successfully charmed her with his dancing skills and sweet talks on the second night of her arrival in Sorvando.

And what more? He had been showering her with so much care and love for the past three weeks that she was feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.

She had never thought that she would experience such great love in this lifetime, but she was. And she was very grateful for everything that led her to this great love.

Thus, with a blindingly bright smile on her face, Tilla said, "I am not happy about the injury I suffered, but I am happy about my current circumstance, Anna."
