Chapter 428 - 428: Permission

Anastasia stretched her arms in a lethargic manner and then opened her eyes when her sleep was disturbed by the sweet morning kiss from her husband.

"Did I wake you?" Caspian stared into Anastasia's emerald-green eyes with a slightly guilty look on his face. "I thought I was being stealthy."

Anastasia closed her eyes again but smiled at her husband. She didn't want him to feel bad for being sweet. "It's okay. It's already time for me to get up."

Caspian leaned in again and then kissed his wife once more, properly, now that he had already woken her up. However, seeing how she still looked tired, he asked, "Why don't you try to sleep for some more time? You look like you could use more sleep?"

Although Anastasia got a full night's sleep, it was true that she was still feeling tired before even getting up from bed.

However, she didn't want to keep on lying on the bed since too much sleep was also not good for her health. She was already feeling mild discomfort in her chest, and she knew that it would only increase with more sleep.

Thus, Anastasia opened her eyes and whispered to her husband, "I think I will get up. What time is it?" She looked out of the closed glass window. The weather looked dull. But judging by the restlessness in her husband's eyes, she could guess that Caspian was already late for his meetings.

"It's 8." Caspian furrowed his brows a little and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to go back to sleep?"

"Mhmm…" Anastasia held out her hand and asked with a sweet smile on her lips, "Help me up."

Caspian was gentle with her. He held her hand but pushed her up by supporting her back. And once she sat up straight, he slowly said to her, "Um… I have some things to take care of. So, I will be heading out first."

"Okay." Anastasia gave a peck on Caspian's lips and said, "I will keep myself busy with some books."

Caspian took a deep breath and smacked his lips because he really didn't want to leave his wife right after waking up. However, he had no choice because he had a very important meeting to attend.

"I will see you in the afternoon," Caspian said before rushing towards his own chamber to get ready for the day.

After being left alone in the room, Anastasia hugged her knees and then rested her chin on her knees. Martha hadn't arrived yet. So, she was left alone with her thoughts.

'It's already been three weeks since Tilla left for Lord Vincent's mansion…' Her eyes danced around the empty corners of her chambers that looked lonely without Tilla's presence.

Although Martha and Holly did their best to keep Anastasia company, they were no match for Tilla. They couldn't possibly make Anastasia forget about her best friend.

She recalled her last meeting with Vincent a few days ago and then thought while slightly pouting her lips, 'Lord Vincent says that Tilla's health has improved drastically. But…'

Anastasia was starting to miss Tilla a little too much. The void in her heart was almost starting to resemble the signs of homesickness.

'But I wish I could see her in person.'

Her eyes shone a little with determination. She stared at the open door of her bedchamber and then voiced out her desire, "I want to meet Tilla. Yes! Let's do that today."

Anastasia quickly got out of bed and then went to open her wardrobe. She wanted to catch Caspian before he went to the throne hall. So, she hurriedly picked up a random silk robe and wore it over her nightgown.

Then without caring about her tousled hair or her slightly swollen eyes, she rushed out of her chamber.

When she zoomed past her guards who were stationed at her door, one of them immediately began to follow her without asking anything or speaking a word.

Anastasia sprinted down the long gallery to reach Caspian's chambers. And once she was there, she wasted no time in gently knocking on the door.

Percy opened the door and immediately greeted Anastasia, "Your Majesty. Are you looking for–"

"Me?" Caspian peeped from the side and gave a wide smile to his wife.

Anastasia's jaw dropped wide when she saw her husband dripping soapy water all over the floor. And on top of that, he wasn't wearing any clothes.

She quickly stepped inside and then hurriedly stood in front of her husband so that she could cover him from Percy's view. But then she realized that it wasn't just Percy who was in the room, but several other servants and maids were also there, performing their daily tasks.

"Caspian!" she exclaimed while giving him a shocked glare and aggressively whispered, "Why are you running around naked? Everyone can see you!"

Caspian didn't care. Instead, he put his wet and soapy arm around his wife's shoulder and then made her walk toward the bathroom. And while he did so, he whispered back to her, "They all have grown numb to my thing by now. And don't worry. They don't stare."

Anastasia immediately elbowed Caspian at the side of his stomach, as if on reflex, then shouted, "Still! I don't want…" She darted her eyes around at the maids in the chamber and mumbled, "I don't think it is appropriate to make them uncomfortable. You could have at least wrapped a towel around your waist."

Caspian, sensing a hint of Jealousy in Anastasia's voice, smirked happily. He gestured for the servants who were waiting for him in the bathroom to get out of there. Then he asked his wife, "Since you are already here, why don't we bathe together? It's been a while, don't you think?"

Anastasia didn't want to take much time from Caspian's already busy schedule. Thus, she declined the offer, no matter how tempting it was. "Umm… we can do so some other time. I just came here to get your permission."

"Hmm…" Caspian stood in front of Anastasia. He saw how serious she looked right now. So, he also let go of his playfulness and asked, "Permission to do what?"
