Chapter 30: Transformation

Dante narrowed his eyes as he double-checked the mission. It was truly written there that he needed to stop James from transforming into a demonic human.

Demonic human?

James is in the process of transforming into such a creature. A human transforming into a demonic creature like those fishes? How is that possible?

Dante’s poker face turned serious.

<He’s awakening in a wrong way. His body was absorbing a massive amount of impure energy.>

Megan who was also near James at that moment was also in danger of getting hit by it. Everyone widened their eyes in shock, especially Megan herself.

However, before she suffered the same fate as those martial artists, someone jumped in front of her and blocked the dark energy from reaching her.

Megan was skeptical to leave, but Dante managed to scare her by saying she would end up like those martial artists if she stayed there. She left with Sujin and the girls while saying she would find some help.

After they left, Dante looked at James again and asked himself what to do now.

Looking at James, his body started changing. The color of his skin turned pale and gray. Sharp spikes started growing on his body.

His eyes started turning red and his hair stood like needles.

However, the most ominous thing about him was the dark aura surging from his body and the noise coming from him.

It sounded painful and agonizing!

Failure of the mission stated death was the price. The word death was written in a plural form, which meant, it didn’t specify his death alone. So maybe it was indicating that the consequences of failing the mission were the lives of many people.

There were already four victims while it was still in the process of transforming, and what’s more when it transformed completely.

This was not something Dante could allow to continue.

A human transforming into a demonic creature due to not following the normal process of awakening. This was his first time encountering such an event.

"What do you think is the reason for this to happen, Shiny?" Dante asked the shiny orb while pondering what to do. He at least needed to know the reason behind it. Maybe he could find a clue on how to stop it.

Beads of sweat appeared at the back of Kyzer. He had no idea as well the exact location of the demonic creature. But he was certain that this ominous aura was from a demonic creature. He couldn’t be wrong in this.

Suddenly, Melody along with her friends and classmates approached them.

"Judging from how discernible it is, this demonic creature must be nearby," Melody said, alarming everyone.

"Melody!"

Kyzer’s face brightened when he saw her.

After her admission to the school, Melody easily became the strongest superhuman among the female students.
