Chapter 1510 - Chapter 1510 Chapter 1510 Everyone Boycotts Cynthia
Chapter 1510: Chapter 1510: Everyone Boycotts Cynthia Chapter 1510: Chapter 1510: Everyone Boycotts Cynthia “There is no conclusive evidence regarding the rumors about Miss Cynthia. Since the incident began, several large corporations and wealthy families have vouched for her. Even Libanan University, a prestigious school domestically, has not hesitated to stake its reputation to defend her. Why then, are you all so eager to believe Mr. Maude Andrews’ version of the story?”
Hearing his name being mentioned, Andrews turned pale, “Chairman Astrid…”
“And yes, Mr. Andrews, didn’t you say you were going to resign from the position of judge for the International Aroma Competition? Why are you here today?” Astrid Joll, her eyes filled with scorn, chuckled, “If Mr. Andrews can’t even keep a promise, how can I believe anything you say?”
Andrews’ face twisted in revulsion, but before he could begin to defend himself, Astrid Joll glared coldly at the person beside him and snarled, “Judge Fefferman!”
Judge Fefferman shuddered, his gaze filled with unease, “Chairman Astrid, I’ve already informed you, but…”
Astrid Joll stared at him coldly, waiting for him to continue.
“But…” Judge Fefferman wracked his brains quickly and finally found an excuse, “But with such a scandal on Cynthia, neither the contestants nor the judges want her to participate. Furthermore, even if there was no underhanded business with her and Andrews, the fact that she privately invited the judges to her Restroom cannot be denied! We have held the International Aroma Competition for many years, and we have always strictly prohibited such backroom dealings. We can’t, because of one morally corrupt contestant, undermine the fairness of the competition.”
Judge Fefferman’s words resonated with everyone there, earning an agreement from the crowd.
Astrid Joll’s face darkened. She bellowed in rage: “Robert Hart!”
Xaviera Evans smirked, she was starting to understand. These judges must have already accepted bribes from Quinn Powell; she was now the predetermined winner. However, it appeared that Mrs. Astrid Joll was not privy to this information.
The only student of Mrs. Algoma really was different. In the eclectic International Aroma Competition, it was already difficult enough to stay true to one’s heart.
Robert Hart glanced nervously at Quinn and then resignedly replied, “Chairman Joll, we know you wish not to wrong the innocent. Without proof, a contestant should indeed not be disqualified. However, having worked with Mr. Andrews for so many years, we all know the kind of person he is. We believe that Mr. Andrews would not lie. We don’t want the Aroma Competition to be tarnished by someone engaging in such underhanded tactics.”
“Miss Cynthia, you need to leave immediately. Don’t delay the competition. If you wait for the security to remove you, I’m afraid it will be more humiliating.”
Andrews stood up and bowed to the crowd, “Ladies and Gentlemen, this matter does concern me and I apologize. I made a mistake in a moment of confusion and I am ready to accept your criticism. For Miss Cynthia to have achieved first place through such means, it is unfair to the other contestants. I hope you realize your mistake and provide a peaceful environment for the Aroma Competition.”
“Security, please escort Miss Cynthia out!”
Chairman Astrid glared at them.
Before the security could arrive, Xaviera Evans stepped forward, taking her time to say, “Mr. Andrews, Judge Fefferman, why are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?”
The two of them blanched instantly.
“Cynthia! Will you ever stop?” Linda Campbell looked at Xaviera Evans’ beautiful face, her jealousy driving her to rage. She pointed at Xaviera and shouted, “This is the International Aroma Competition. You seduced the judges to become the winner. Did everyone else work hard to compete only to be made your playthings? You trample on the fruits of others’ labor and use illegitimate means to compete. How can you still show your face here? Have you no shame?”
Linda Campbell’s eyes were filled with contempt as she ranted, “Relying on your good looks, seducing men wherever you go, someone of your character is entirely unfit to be a perfumer. Who would dare to use perfumes composed by you?”
As her words died down, the competition venue became noisy. Impatient contestants and invited audience members began whispering. Contemptuous gazes fell on Xaviera Evans.
Seeing that everyone was siding with him, Andrews smirked and said disdainfully, “Cynthia, you see, no one wants you to participate. You have been boycotted by both the contestants and the judges. I did not rush to chase you away. As a judge of the International Aroma Competition, I must abide by my conscience. Seeing that you have unjustly won the first place, I cannot ignore it. After all, everyone here has put in their time and effort to compete. If you continue participating, what will other contestants think?”
“Cynthia, I advise you to stop being stubborn. Causing more ruckus won’t do you any good.”
