Chapter 1176 - Chapter 1176 Chapter 1176 Ban Drew Wakes Up
Chapter 1176: Chapter 1176: Ban Drew Wakes Up Chapter 1176: Chapter 1176: Ban Drew Wakes Up “Caleb, aren’t you curious about what Sir Drew told me?” Xaviera Evans looked up at him.
Caleb Mamet paused, revealing a shallow smile, “I have my suspicions, I don’t need Mrs. Mamet to say anything.”
A sudden thump pulsed in Xaviera’s heart, probably because her grandpa detoxificated Winni Drew, so Sir Drew didn’t find out that she had also detoxified Caleb. But could Caleb have guessed that they had talked about this?
For some reason, she suddenly felt uneasy.
“Ban Drew should be awake, let’s leave.” Caleb held her hand, just as they were about to leave, a heart-wrenching howl from Ban Drew suddenly came from not far away.
“No! It’s impossible!” Ban’s voice was hoarse and old, almost expending all his strength. Waking up so agitated, he probably had found out about Boyd Drew’s expulsion from the family.
Ban had invested all his energy into Vivian Drew and Boyd in his life, but unfortunately Vivian, despite being given power, did not have the capability to control the Drew Corporation. Boyd had some tactics, but they were unorthodox. If he had used his mind in the right place, maybe the Drew family wouldn’t have been so miserable.
The drug Xaviera gave to Boyd was not heavy, in a few days his vision should restore. But within these days, he would taste the most painful for the first time in his life, and he would feel the torment Caleb had experienced. However, Xaviera didn’t intend to spare him that easy.
“Xaviera.” Caleb’s voice rang in her ear, with a hint of ridicule. “Aren’t you thinking about how to torment Boyd?”
She didn’t expect Caleb to see through her immediately. She quickly countered defiantly, “Absolutely not! Boyd has already been expelled from the Drew family. His life is over. Why would I continue to torment him? I am so vulnerable and kind, I absolutely couldn’t do such things!”
The howl of Ban Drew came once again from the main house, filled with strong resentment and anger.
Their steps paused. Xaviera couldn’t help but ask, “Caleb, now that all the people who bullied you have been punished, don’t you feel a little bit excited seeing this scene?”
“If it were me, seeing these people end up so miserable, I would definitely jump for joy. But you don’t have any reaction, why is that?”
Caleb raised his eyebrows, still remaining indifferent, “Probably because… I don’t care about these people. Their outcomes don’t affect my emotions. The only person who can affect my emotions now is you.”
Xaviera was stunned. Before she could react, a man’s deep magnetic voice came to her ear, “Only you, they are not worthy of affecting me.”
His hot breath sprayed on Xaviera’s neck, his voice carrying a bit of temptation, and his eyes filled with strong affection.
Xaviera stiffened, her cheeks flush. She lowered her shy head. She wasn’t used to Caleb always talking about their emotions in front of her!
…
Ten minutes ago, in the Drew Main Manor.
Ban Drew looked as pale as a ghost, laying on the hospital bed and gasping for air. He glanced at the time on his phone and immediately broke out in a cold sweat. It was the day of the ancestor grave visiting and yet he overslept.
Why didn’t anyone come to wake him up? Where did Vivian and Boyd go?
As he puzzled, a sound of footsteps came from outside. Being jumpy already, the sound made Ban tense up. His senses were on high alert. His heart was fluttering, his eyelids twitching uncontrollably.
The Main Manor of the Drew family was quiet, but it still felt terrifying. Hearing the footsteps echoing in his ears, Ban broke out in a cold sweat.
The next second, Noah Reed pushed the door and walked in. Only then Ban let out a sigh of relief.
Noah was his personal assistant. He was young, but capable. He could complete all the tasks assigned to him perfectly. He was soft hearted and cautious. Ban had to admit he was an excellent assistant, hence he trusted him.
Ban planned to promote Noah to be Boyd’s assistant in managing the company’s affairs. This way, Noah could report to him company’s matters at all times, and Ban would have an extra pair of eyes.
But seeing Noah now, Ban was suddenly filled with anger: “This is already late, why have you just come to wake me up? The time for the ancestor grave visiting has passed!”
Noah’s expression was subtle, with a hint of sympathy and contempt, he glanced at Ban. He didn’t answer, just quietly looked at him.
