Chapter 1125 - Chapter 1125 Chapter 1125 Those Who Accomplish Great Things
Chapter 1125: Chapter 1125: Those Who Accomplish Great Things Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff Chapter 1125: Chapter 1125: Those Who Accomplish Great Things Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff Vivian Drew was filled with resentment. Why in the world should she kneel to Winni Drew? No way, that’s impossible!
Boyd Drew, on the other hand, remained calm. After a moment of silence, he spoke nonchalantly, “Aunt, she is already dead. What’s the harm in kneeling before her? What difference will offering her incense make?”
“But that Winni Drew…”
Before Vivian could finish, Boyd interrupted her, “Right now, you are the noble lady of the Drew family, you are the master. And her? Her body has long turned into dust. Even if we place her tablet in the cemetery, what could possibly happen? It’s just a piece of wood, meaningless at all! Only those who are still alive can be winners, and she has long vanished from this world.”
Boyd continued, “To achieve great things, one cannot be restrained by minor obstacles. If you cannot even bear this small grievance, how can you handle the Drew family? We are a centuries-old prestigious family. No matter how much we despise Winni, we cannot simply discard her tablet, lest others find faults with us.”
After listening to Boyd’s words, Vivian’s face softened a bit. She had to admit that Boyd made sense. Winni Drew had indeed been dead for many years. What lay in the cemetery now was just a piece of rotten wood. She was the last woman standing!
Vivian looked around, making sure nothing was recorded. Maybe they were just being overly sensitive. In a softened tone, she said, “That’s right, what the hell does it matter if Winni Drew’s tablet is placed in the cemetery? She was despised by the Drews when she was alive, and only after death she gained the privilege to be in the cemetery. How laughable!”
Boyd Drew chuckles, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in his eyes.
…
The Lowen Clubhouse.
Xaviera Evans, perched on the edge of the bed, listened silently to the news that Noah Reed was relaying. “Miss, everything’s done.”
She nodded her approval, “The Drew’s maid, is she one of yours?”
Upon hearing her question, Noah choked up, hesitating, “No…she’s not…”
Xaviera immediately sat up straight, her eyes widening in surprise, almost biting her tongue, “What? Not one of yours?”
Even Boyd Drew had noticed that the maid intentionally infuriated Vivian, prompting her to blurt out those words in public. Of course, Xaviera also realized something was off. It was obvious that the maid knew Noah was recording and had deliberately steered Vivian in that direction.
If that maid was not one of Noah’s people, then whose side was she on?
At Xaviera’s surprised reaction, Noah cleared his throat and said, “Miss, I’m equally clueless here. I was planning to provoke Vivian myself. But before I could act, the maid beat me to it. Then Boyd ordered a search of the maid’s body, but they found nothing.”
Xaviera rested her chin, contemplative. She suddenly had a thought.
Noah added over the phone, “The area around the cemetery was full of Boyd’s people. The maid infuriating Vivian like that without recording it herself, and me not knowing her, it’s likely that maid was just disgusted with Vivian’s behavior and spoke her mind.”
Spoke her mind?
Xaviera didn’t believe that the maid was simply speaking spontaneously. It was clear that each sentence was meant to provoke Vivian. If she were just an ordinary maid, she would have removed the tablet when Vivian first started losing her temper. Instead, she provoked Vivian into revealing her true character. And conveniently, Noah was outside the door at that moment, capturing the scene on camera.
It was as if this maid had calculated that Noah would arrive, and had prepared everything in advance. She didn’t have any recording devices on her. Everything she did seemed to pave the way for Noah, making it easy for him to record the scene successfully. But Noah insisted that the maid was not one of his people.
Xaviera raised an eyebrow, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes, “Have you found out the identity of that maid?”
There was a few seconds of silence before Noah replied cautiously, “Miss, I checked earlier on. But the maid appears to be an ordinary person. She comes from an average family background and went to work as a maid in the Drew family because they paid well. She’s been there for several years now and hasn’t made any mistakes. And since Boyd couldn’t find anything either, he couldn’t really do anything to the maid.”
Xaviera narrowed her eyes. There was certainly something suspicious about the maid’s appearance and timing, even her exact words seemed carefully thought out.
After a long pause, Noah added mysteriously, “Miss, I suspect there’s another group of people inside the Drew family. They’re very secretive, as if someone has planted spies among them.”
Xaviera responded with a dismissive, “Oh.”
“This group of people is very cunning. They are clearly planning to use us to deal with Vivian and Boyd. Once everything is exposed, they’re completely clean. Everything will look like our doing!” Noah sighed.
