Chapter 1072 - Chapter 1072 Chapter 1072 The Mamet Family Has No Musical
Chapter 1072: Chapter 1072: The Mamet Family Has No Musical Talent Chapter 1072: Chapter 1072: The Mamet Family Has No Musical Talent The Cole family was known for their musical prowess, particularly in piano. Miss Cole, too, played beautifully. The family’s fame had once been unrivaled, but later…
Xaviera Evans collected her thoughts, bid farewell to the Russell family, and left with Caleb Mamet and Yigol Mamet for the Lowen Clubhouse.
“You looked quite interested earlier. Do you enjoy playing the piano?” Caleb asked softly.
Xaviera nodded slightly: “Yeah, I like it quite a bit. I even learned to play for a while.”
Caleb grinned at her, “Mrs. Mamet is very musically talented; I don’t want to shame your name.”
Xaviera nodded but didn’t take his words to heart. However, after getting out of the car, Caleb headed straight for the backyard. Steve Price and Sean Price hesitated for a moment, exchanged glances, and looked terrified.
Xaviera: “…” What’s going on? What are they up to?
Is the backyard that scary? Why do they seem so resistant?
“Steve Price.” Caleb’s voice came from not far away, “Come here.”
Upon hearing that, Xaviera saw a look of utter despair on Steve’s face, while Sean breathed a sigh of relief.
Curious about what Caleb intended to do in the backyard, Xaviera quietly pulled Yigol toward it. They walked to a small courtyard at the back and hid in a corner.
Suddenly, a cacophony of piano playing filled the air. The discordant sounds left Xaviera and Yigol petrified.
Yigol covered his ears, his face displaying agony and disbelief. He quickly retreated a few steps, “Xaviera, I’m leaving first. You can stay and enjoy it yourself.”
Xaviera’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. She was unable to accept that the seemingly perfect Caleb had no musical talent and even produced sounds that made her want to die.
Right now, Yigol just wanted to escape. However, the person inside had already spotted him, and a faint smile lingered on his lips. His deep gaze met Yigol’s.
Yigol dared not move, fearing that Caleb would realize how much he detested the sound and beat him up.
At that moment, Caleb inside the house finished playing one song according to the sheet music. He turned to see Steve Price’s face, all teeth bared and twisted in repulsion, every cell in his body rejecting the sound.
Caleb’s lips curved. Was it still terrible?
For the first time, he felt a sense of defeat. He admitted he was tone-deaf, and music did require talent. He thought he couldn’t play the violin but might have a shot at the piano. He wanted to learn just one instrument so he could play it for Xaviera, but the sound he produced still disappointed.
As he stood up, Caleb saw two figures in the yard: Yigol looked pained, while Xaviera stood still, her eyes filled with astonishment.
Without embarrassment, Caleb pushed the door open, “You both heard?”
Xaviera: “…” Actually, learning the piano wasn’t that important, and she didn’t care that much. But ever since Caleb found out she liked music, he would secretly practice in the backyard, just to play for her. The sound might have been unbearable, but she was touched.
As an emotional woman, Xaviera then stepped forward and said, “Caleb, let me teach you.”
Caleb hesitated, while Steve stared at her wide-eyed.
Xaviera patted her chest confidently, “Piano isn’t really that difficult. You just need a teacher. I believe I can teach you. We might not become concert-level pianists, but at least we can play a whole piece.”
Listening to her words, a smile filled Caleb’s eyes. He took her hand and laughed, “Okay.”
…
Half an hour later, Xaviera was slumped in her chair, full of regrets. She began to wonder why on earth she had impulsively decided to teach Caleb to play the piano.
She looked puzzled – Caleb’s piano posture was so elegant and standard, it resembled a musical gentleman. His slender fingers on the keys painted a beautiful picture, but every note sounded bizarre.
Had she not heard the sound, she would have thought him an exceptional musician.
At that moment, Yigol leaned against a window and whispered, “Caleb, you’re already so perfect. It’s normal not to have musical talent. If you could do everything, would you even be human? Wouldn’t you become a deity?”
“None of the Mamet family have musical talent. Not a single one can play music. I must be tone-deaf too. I bet if I try to play, you’ll see!”
With that said, Yigol sat down on the chair, adjusted his posture to mimic Xaviera’s, and placed his fingers on the piano keys. He had never learned to play the piano, but he remembered a few beats from watching Xaviera play and how she pressed the keys.
