Chapter 669: Burn

I looked at the assassin who nearly killed me.
Thank god, I had practiced with the assassins and was alert enough, or the bastard would have killed me.
It was running away from the fire; I breathed at him. I want to chase and finish him off while he is in the air; it is the best chance to deal with the assassin.
The enemy also understood it, as she had launched Bone Spears at me.
I didn't move from my spot and waited until it was only a few meters before me, when I activated Gracefire Glide.
The fire lit up under my feet, and I moved left.
The speed is incredible. So much that I can smoothly avoid all nine Bone Spears coming toward me, before bursting toward the Necromancer.
It is more like a fiery glide; it is both graceful and fast.
I could see the surprise in the Necromancer's eyes and saw her moving back, casting Haste, with two of her four special undead moving toward me, while two moved back with her.
I also noticed that the assassin had disappeared and activated Commanding Presence around me.
It is a very good skill. It gives me a commanding presence among my people and suppresses the enemy. Most importantly, it increases my perception of the area around me.
Therefore, I will be more aware of my surroundings.
The special undead came toward me; one of them was a thin, pale human man with stitches around it. It is moving gracefully, with a rapier in hand.
Likely a speed fighter or dualist; the other special undead is the muscled half-elf
It is built like a bear; I don't know if the man was naturally muscled like this or had undergone a transformation by a necromancer.
It had long, sharp claws in its hands. If they touch me, they will tear through me.
I must be careful of these two; they are as powerful as Lv. 30 and are now coming to slaughter me. There is also the undead and a necromancer who launched a shower of Bone Needles at me.
The necromancer is good. The shower of nails covered a large area.
I will not be able to dodge them all.
I saw that I had made no move to dodge them and ran straight toward them until they were right in front of me. I stopped and crouched down before putting a shield in front of me.
I need my shield to cover the maximum area of me; I had also stopped at a place where the least number of Bone Needles will hit me.
Cling Cling Puch!
The needles clashed against my shield hard, with a few striking my body. Most of it had been defended, but one had pierced my leg.
Hun!
While it was happening, I sensed the assassin; it had appeared behind me.
As it did, I craned my neck all the way back, looking behind me.
Bendy Madam had given me quite a flexibility, which I exploited to the limit. Now, it has upgraded to the Flexible Mistress, making me even more flexible.
As I did, liquor appeared in my mouth, and I pushed it out, turning into the wide bloom of fire that moved fast toward the invisible enemy.
He became visible as the fire moved toward him fast; this time, his blade had reached close to me.
I got up as the Bone Needles finished and saw a Bone Lance covered in the black flames coming toward me.
I moved my shield forward and activated the Shield Brace.
Bam!
The attack struck against my shield.
Despite the defensive skill, it shook me and made me step back.
The shield skill has become powerful with the new class, but hasn't upgraded like the other skills.
I didn't waste any time, as I stabilised. I moved forward, but once more, I saw the shower of the Bone Needles approaching me.
Two undead had nearly reached me, and an assassin had become invisible again.
It didn't stop me, and I moved even faster, while the liquor appeared in my mouth and breathed it forward toward the Bone Needles.
Whoosh!
The fire reached them, and they began to burn, and turned to ashes as they reached me.
I could have used the move more easily, but I was wary of the assassin. Now, I know, the commanding presence could sense him.
Therefore, I am no longer as worried as I was before.
I could see the glare from the eyes of the necromancer, and I grinned before her staff lit up, while I turned toward the special undead.
They are dangerous and powerful.
Their modification makes them very difficult to kill, but I must kill them in a single attack, something that many early High-Mages would find difficult.
Still, I have to do it. If they approach, I am dead. They will kill me, or the assassin will.
A liquor appeared in my mouth, and a moment later, the drops of alcohol produced by me mixed in it with Power Brew.
Not one or two drops, but a whopping ten drops. Even with the skill, I could feel the instability.
The brew was strong in the sea and is now even stronger. The liquor is powerful, as are the drops, since my class had upgraded and reached Lv. 30.
She understood what I planned to do as she didn't attack me.
Instead, she cast spell after spell on her undead. Covering them with the bone layer, before casting a defensive skill in the form of the grey cloak.
I didn't act immediately; I let them come closer, until there was less than a five-meter distance between us.
Whoosh!
It's when I breathed out the fire, pushing my skills to their limit.
They tried to dodge the attack the moment I did, but my fire was faster. I wish I could see what is happening. Instead, I turned with the burning sword.
The assassin had chosen the exact moment as I released the breath.
It was waiting at the same distance. Close enough that he could attack me instantly, but far enough to dodge the fire, if I breathed it at him.
Now, seeing the chance, he had attacked.
Clang!
My fiery sword clashed against the dagger, making him visible. Seeing that, I grinned before opening my mouth and breathing out the alcohol that I was holding in my mouth.
Whoosh!
Seeing it, his eyes widened, because like alcohol, I used on the undead, this one too has drops of alcohol.
He could feel the power as the alarm appeared on his face, and he began to retreat, but this time, the fire was faster and more powerful.
It had caught up to him. That, I could see the horror appearing in his eyes.
I turned immediately as I did that and brought my shield forward, activating the Shield Brace.
The mage had attacked me with the dark lightning. Large bolts have appeared in front of me, and given their speed, I won't be able to dodge.
I need to defend against it.
Bam, Bam Bam!
Instantly, the first big bolt of black lightning hit the shield, before the second one hit it, and the third.
The fourth, fifth, and sixth came together, and I couldn't defend them with the shield alone. So, I activated the Flame Strike and moved my sword toward it.
Bam Bam Bam!
I defended the two with my sword, and the third with my sword, which stunned me momentarily.
"Ahhhh!"
I had just defended when I heard the scream from behind me. I didn't have to turn to see what was happening, but I did and saw the assassin covered in flames.
It is the same as the two undead.
They are burning, requiring a miracle to survive through it.
I didn't think about them further and looked at the remaining enemy.
The necromancer had realised the trouble and was now running fast.
With the Gracefire Glide, I shot forward and released another breath to defend against the Bone Needles before leaping to avoid the Bone Thorns coming off the ground.
I'm moving fast despite the spells she slings at me to slow me down.
I must kill the mage and do it fast, before she reaches the other mages. I can't let them help; it would be terrible if she were to survive.
Warriors would have a hard time against her. I could deal with her as I had the abilities that did well against the mages.
Whoosh!
I released another breath and burned down the undead that had come.
When I reached past their burning bodies, there were only ten meters of distance between us. I could see the hate and anger in the half-elves' eyes.
The next moment, I saw the two special undead coming toward me.
One is a large orc, while the other is a short but stocky human, likely of dwarf blood.
It surprised me; I thought she would keep them beside her, but now she is sending them toward me. It didn't give me a good feeling.
Hun!
Still, I kept moving toward her when suddenly the feeling of death enveloped me.
I understood immediately why I had felt that. The two undead will explode; the rumbling of mana I am sensing is proof of that.
I only have a second to escape, because if I do not, I will die or at least be grievously injured.
A moment isn't enough; I will be caught up in the explosion, even if I move at my highest speed.
Hun!
I just realized that, when I shuddered, all the hair on my body stood up.
"Ahhh!"
As the feeling came, I was hit by the attack; it was silent, but shook me to my soul; a soul attack.
Soul Spike.
The enemy timed her attack well. She understood that I might somehow escape the explosion.
She launched the Soul Spike. So, I couldn't.
It is a powerful attack. It was powerful enough to make most people scream in pain, and some Lv. 30 unconscious.
It is one of the things that makes necromancers so dangerous, and it will kill me, too, if I don't do anything within a fraction of a second.
I could feel the explosion lock on me.
The impact of the explosion will be entirely on me. If it hits me, I am dead.
I cannot die.
The battle has many powerhouses, and I must play my part to win it. I need to save my teammates; more powerhouses had entered the battle, making things very dangerous for my team.
So, I pushed the pain down in my drunken mind and brought out the aura.
I broke the explosion lock on me and pushed it into the Gracefire Glide.
I do not have much control over it, but I used all my will to forcefully shove the aura in it before jumping up with a fiery burst.
Boom Boom!
I was in the air when the explosion rang out, and it was more powerful than I had expected, with a lot of bone shrapnel and gore coming toward me, thick with the death energy.
It would be terrible if they were to hit me.
So, liquor appeared in my mouth, and I activated the Power Brew, adding the twenty drops of alcohol, before breathing it toward it, while pushing aura into all the skills.
It made my head feel like it was torn apart, but I bore through it.
Whoosh!
The plume of fire became wider, covering a large area as it moved toward the bones and gore coming toward me.
It took a second to reach it and burned everything in its path, till nothing remained.
I reached high and began to fall down.
Once more, I activated Gracefire Glide, and my speed slowed down. I couldn't move through the air, but this allowed me to glide through it somewhat.
With the enhancements from the aura, it becomes smoother.
I barely got a moment before the bone lances came toward me.
I am gliding toward her, and she is trying to kill me in the air while I am an easy target.
Bam Bam!
I defended against the lances, and the lightning bolts came, and then the soul attack followed. However, I was more prepared this time and reinforced my mind with the aura.
I still felt pain, but I didn't black out.
The needle storm came again, and I burned it; now only ten meters remain between us.
I could see her, the fear in her eyes as she tried to run away as fast as she could.
Hun!
I was preparing for my final attack when all the hair on my body rose.
I turned and saw a large fireball coming toward me from the left at a rapid speed. I knew with a single glance. If it hits me, it's game over for me.
It is a potent spell from the mage, more powerful than the necromancer I am fighting.
It is coming toward me, and she is taking advantage of the help and has launched a large bone finger covered in dark fire.
It is her most powerful spell; I could feel its power, and I don't want it to touch any part of me.
I felt scared, but I prepared myself.
I brought the shield forward, liquor in my mouth, and pushed my aura into the skills. I used every bit of my will into them, so much that blood began to come out of my orifices, but I still pushed it.
Finally, the spell reached me, and I pushed my shield toward the finger with Shield Brace while turning my head to the left.
Clang! Whoosh!
The lance crashed against my shield while I breathed out the fire at the large fireball.
The fire was yellowish with dark blue mixed in. It is heavier than a light element, Ravian. There is a weight to it, which is why I chose this against the fireball.
The blow of the bone lance shook me, but my aura strengthened my defence, only giving me painful shock; it didn't break my bones.
I had never doubted my defence against the lance; the fireball worried me.
Boom!
Now it crashed against my fire, which went at it in a concentrated burst instead of a wide plume.
It pushed against my fire, coming closer and closer, but as it did, it got smaller and smaller, as my fire whittled away its power.
It reached halfway, but its size reduced to half, then a quarter more, and it had fully disappeared.
It relieved me, but I didn't soak it in and turned to an enemy. Expecting the attack. Instead, I saw the bone dome, along with a few more defensive spells, appear over her.
She wants to defend until help arrives, and help is on the way.
It is only a few seconds away.
"It's time for you to die," I said, and brought the liquid to my mouth and added twenty-five drops of alcohol to it, before pushing it out with every speck of aura.
Whoosh!
The aura-laced fire blazed out of my mouth in a dense plume and crashed against the bone dome.
For a moment, I thought the dome would hold, seeing no change, until I saw it melting and understood she was finished.
I didn't spare her another glance and turned toward the powerful enemy approaching me.
Hun!
I was looking toward them, making preparations, when I sensed something.
It surprised me, but a moment later, a smile appeared on my face, and I turned toward the city.
"Welcome to the club, sister," I said, but a moment later, my expression turned sombre.
I'm deeply worried. Whatever happened must have been serious to cause this… and all I could do was pray. She's too far, and even if I wanted to go to her, I couldn't leave.
So, I prayed for her, turned to the enemy, and moved to deal with their attack.
