Chronicles Of The Academy's Strongest Professor -
Chapter 50: Problem [3]
Chapter 50: Problem [3]
.....
For Celestine, it was dark.
Extremely dark.
She hadn’t been blindfolded, only gagged so she couldn’t scream for help.
The man who did this to her was none other than one of the professor’s at the Lavender Academy....
They weren’t all good.
Celestine realized it now.
Maybe, this one could even be comparable to the Arthur from a year ago, when he had been possessed by the spirit.
Currently, she could hear things happening above.
The sounds of spellcasting, and the destruction of the building above.
"...."
Her only hope was that it wouldn’t collapse on itself, if it did she wouldn’t get out of here.
A while after, the sounds stopped.
She couldn’t hear anything.
’Did something happen?’
She wondered.
Celestine was well-aware that Arthur couldn’t lose to him, he was the strongest person she knew.
But.
In her current situation, she couldn’t help but be doubtful.
She wasn’t in the warehouse.
Celestine was in the vicinity.
Underground.
With limited air.
If Ethan Ross were to die....
"Celestine, can you hear me?"
"Mhnn."
She let out muffled noises in response.
Though, she wasn’t sure Arthur was able to hear her.
Somehow, his voice was amplified, hers however was not.
She didn’t hear anything again, except the noise of something rusty being opened.
"Mhnm."
She could hear footsteps now.
They made her anxious, somewhat.
She was sure it was Arthur, but she couldn’t help but be doubtful.
The sound of a rusty door opening could be heard as someone stepped in.
"You’re here, right?"
He said as he came into view.
An orange flame was on his fingertips, illuminating the otherwise pitch-black place.
"Mhmm."
She answered the only way she could.
Arthur let out a sigh or relief as he walked over to her. With a precise cut, the rope binding her to the chair was severed.
As soon as she was released, Celestine leaped out of the chair, and into his arms.
She sobbed quietly.
Arthur did nothing but pat her head as he comforted her.
"These days you’re always crying."
He said.
"First, it was when I returned, and this is the second time. You shouldn’t cry over little things like this, if you did, who would comfort you when I’m gone?"
Celestine raised her head up from his chest and looked up at him.
Seeing those eyes, he kept quiet.
She buried her head into his chest again.
And both siblings stayed like that, for a while.
....
Arthur sat down on the chair in the warehouse.
On the opposite chair, Ethan Ross’s unconscious body sat there. It would have slumped over if it hadn’t been tied.
’I hope she believed me at least.’
After they had left, Arthur took Celestine straight home.
He told her that after he dealt with the professor, the Crusaders; in this word, they were the police of the empire, arrived and he was forced to hand them over to her.
Since it sounded like that there was a good chance that she would believe him.
As long as she didn’t remember the problem he had, the one where he spoke too soon when he was asked a question, because he was prepared for it.
As long as she didn’t remember the problem, he would be fine.
At least, until the news of the man’s death went round, as well as his failed attempt at assassinating the second princess.
’I don’t think Roselyn would care to tell her father though.’
If news of what happened spread, the Academy would be held responsible and it’s reputation would be damaged.
Though, it all depended on whether the girl who had been targeted care to tell or not.
"I’m getting sidetracked again."
He sighed as he refocused on the target.
Using a basic-ranked spell, Arthur focused on Ethan Ross and conjured a ball of water.
It burst as it came in contact with the man’s face.
He immediately he woke up.
"Where am I?"
He asked.
The man glanced around, only to see himself in the abandoned warehouse he picked.
Slowly, his gaze settled on Arthur.
He lunged at him.
Or at least, he tried to.
The rope, the very same one he had used to bind Celestine was now used on him.
His hands were tied firmly to the chair through the sides.
He would have prepared if he tied his body to the chair, unfortunately, since he had cut it, he could resort to this method.
"You’re in your warehouse."
Arthur replied matter-of-factly.
"...."
The man didn’t reply as realization dawned upon him.
He had tried to kill Arthur, only for him to be killed himself.
The very same rope, rope he had managed to get his hands on with the property of distorting magic, was used to tie him up.
He couldn’t use magic.
Ethan Ross was defeated.
"Your magic?"
He asked.
"Yes."
"How did you use a spell that allowed you to travel with your dagger?"
Now that the fight was over, he found the need to ask.
"First, tell me how you used your cloning spell and I promise that I’ll explain how I did it."
This man didn’t curse at him as soon as he woke up, he didn’t even look angry.
He looked defeated.
Someone who had lost the will to live anymore.
Those kind of people didn’t care what you did, they would never spill anything. But this man had given him a chance, he had asked him first.
He chuckled dryly at Arthur’s words.
"In my garage, the spot directly under where my car is, just open it and you’ll find everything you need to know about my spell."
He said.
’Just like that?’
He thought he would have to pressure more, but even then he did like the idea of getting it easily.
"Now that I’ve told you, tell me what I want to know, how do you use teleportation?"
It was Arthur’s turn of chuckle.
"That was the spell the Golden Blur created, on his own he isn’t fast enough, ranking high with his speed just because of his assassin class. But the reason his speed is perceived to be great is because he imbues a seal in it, and then throws it.
A spell that allows him to travel, almost, if not as fast as lightning."
To prove it, Arthur raised his black shirt up until it covered his nose and mouth.
"Look familiar?"
He asked.
But from the expression on the man’s face, he could tell that he believed him now.
"Anyway, I’m going to have to kill you now."
