Chapter 33: It [1]

....

Arthur was free today.

Friday.

A good day to say the least.

After 4 days of teaching, he finally had his first day off.

Normally, Arthur would have slept early, but unfortunately.

’He’s still following me.’

Another professor happened to have his day off today as well, no classes as well.

And had decided to use his free time to follow Arthur.

As a seasoned soldier he couldn’t sleep knowing that he was being watched, that was unless he didn’t care about it.

Unfortunately, it was too important to care.

The man radiated a certain level of bloodlust, something Arthur couldn’t ignore so easily.

He was in his office.

Doing nothing.

Yet, he could tell that the man was in a room opposite to him.

As soon as he came out he would be followed.

’That man doesn’t quit.’

He had managed to get a look at his face, and from first glance he looked like a professor.

But....

It wasn’t.

Someone disguised as a professor.

Yet, Arthur didn’t say anything, nor did he try to do anything about it.

He just, left it like that.

He was the target.

So he would deal with it when he liked.

If he were to deal with the man now, he would have to turn him in, but if he turned him in he wouldn’t be able to get information about his attacker, the security would take him away for questioning.

And he wouldn’t be able to get his hands on him.

Information was vital, Arthur didn’t want to give it up.

So he waited.

For the perfect opportunity.

"Haah...."

The only problem was that he was bored.

There was no way to pass the time.

With nothing to do, he stood up and went over to the bookshelf.

He took a book, went back to his desk, and sat back down, before opening to page 1.

He didn’t have permission to leave the academy so he couldn’t yet.

’Chapter 1.’

It was going to take a while for this day to end.

....

"Kill me."

Roselyn murmured.

It was Friday.

Friday’s in Lavender Academy usually meant one thing, free time for all students.

She only had one class today, an early morning class, and even then she was done.

Normally she would have gone to sleep or at leas train.

But....

"Would you like to join our team?"

Annoying to say the least.

The teams that would take missions.

The requests were swarming in since today was her free day, in fact, they had been coming since her first day here.

She had thought to ignore it and had done that before, but now it was getting annoying.

The deadline was approaching slowly, and each team saw her as the golden member. Some wanted her in their team so they wouldn’t have to worry about budgeting, some thought she would have astounding potential as an awakened, others just wanted her because she was the princess.

Regardless, it was annoying.

So, her first thoughts were to create her own team.

"I’ll think about it later.’

Surprisingly, Celestine was busy today. She didn’t have any other classes except the ones in the morning, so after those ones, she practically disappeared.

She couldn’t spend the day with her only friend.

So....

"Is this what you really wanted? I swear that you could have just slept off."

A young man with snow-white hair.

Handsome. Undeniably handsome.

Wearing a dark blue jacket with a high collar and matching dark blue slacks.

"It is."

She affirmed, grabbing her dagger tightly.

Roselyn on the other hand wore normal casual clothing.

"Fine, just be quick about it."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair before bringing out his own weapon.

"Wait."

"What is it?"

"You’re still using the dagger the professor gave you?"

She questioned.

She had noticed when Arthur had tossed it to the ground so he could use it, she also noticed his slight change in expression when watching Ezra.

’He could have given him just so he could practice with it, considering how he looked before.’

His dagger was the same as the ones she was given for her 13th birthday, just a day after her awakening.

From Arthur.

She could recognize it instantly.

That was because she used the same one herself.

Arthur had given her two pairs, yet she only ever used one pair when she was younger.

She had started using the other after getting enrolled in the Academy.

"I can’t buy any new weapon, that too and he said I could keep it."

Ezra shrugged it off.

"Ah, I see."

They backed away from each other.

Roselyn got into her stance, Ezra only held his dagger firm and looked at her.

"Wait, what about we don’t use daggers."

"Why?"

Roselyn asked.

Ezra flashed a smile.

"I don’t want to get bullied by someone who has been training since they were young."

He said it easily, but he didn’t keep his dagger.

He watched her for a moment as if studying her.

Then, he furrowed his brows.

’What is he doing?’

They hadn’t started yet.

He was busy staring at her, no, it was almost like he was staring right past her.

Suddenly, he turned to the right and threw the dagger in that direction.

It was a sloppy throw.

His eyes locked into the space there, and he turned in the opposite direction.

With an explosive burst he ran after the dagger.

Roselyn watched in confusion as the poorly thrown dagger went through the air before landing.

"Ezra?!"

He still ran forward.

He cocked his fist, ready to deliver a punch.

"...."

A sickening crunch resounded in the air as his fist crashed into something.

"This sick guy."

Ezra murmured, rubbing his fist.

Slowly, a cloaked figure materialized on the ground.

His cloak didn’t cover his face, so the bloodly display was open to all.

Roselyn walked closer to get a better look.

She didn’t understand.

One moment they were about to start, then the other he attacked someone and took him down.

’Shocking’ to say the least.

"What happened?"

Ezra didn’t respond, instead he crouched low and tried to feel for its pulse.

She watched with a complicated expression.

He was ignoring her.

But it didn’t seem intentional.

He got up and stared at her.

"This guy was trying to kill you, he was charging up a spell, or should I say it?"

"How?!"

Literally made no sense.

"He was just there, doing it, so I had to kill it."

He had just killed ’It’.
