changed.
Shen Yuehong curiously asked as he watched the departing figure, "How come he’s taken?"
That boy explained with a smile, "See that girl behind him? That’s his wife, they got married last year and it was in April when they got their marriage certificate. Isn’t that what you call ’taken’, haha, you should check us out, we are all single."
Shen Yuehong has a slender neck, slightly squinting phoenix eyes, long curled eyelashes, healthy red lips, and even his long legs under the wide pant legs can’t hide his grace. Hearing this boy’s straightforward words, he just smiled faintly, "Zhao Shen, what are you talking about?" This sentence circled on his tongue three times before coming out, leaving a unique taste, causing the boy’s face to turn red as he stared blankly.
However, Shen Yuehong murmured to himself in the direction of the fading bicycle, "So his name is Qin Xi, quite interesting."
Qin Xi dropped Li Xianglu off at the girls’ dormitory entrance and then they agreed on a time to return home before he left.
Li Xianglu was wearing a floral long dress, with the hem reaching her ankles, cinched at the waist with a thin belt, and the neck tied with two strings of matching color. She wore open-toed white sandals on her feet, bought from Hong Kong, still carrying the same white purse, but now with a large canvas bag in hand holding a thin quilt and a sheet for washing, along with a big bag of snacks.
After greeting the dorm supervisor, she went straight back to her dorm. Upon entering, Li Xianglu saw Lu Anna and Iro making their beds, while a middle-aged woman beside them carried a pile of stuff, helping them to organize.
Seeing Li Xianglu, Lu Anna surprisingly greeted, "Xiao Xiang, you’re here."
Li Xianglu widened her eyes, seeing the other person greet and then continue organizing, she smiled and said, "Lu and Student Ai are also here, you guys are early."
Iro was momentarily stunned and then said, "Xiao Xiang, calling us students is too polite. We’ve been living together for half a year, just call me Iro or Aluo, and call Lu Anna as Anna, it’s more intimate."
Li Xianglu raised her eyebrows, Lu Anna didn’t say anything, implying her agreement, so she smiled, "Alright, then hurry up and finish organizing. I brought a big watermelon, let’s eat it together."
No sooner had she finished speaking than the door opened and Ma Lingling came in carrying a basin. Seeing Li Xianglu had also arrived, she became slightly embarrassed and fidgety. At that moment, Chongchong, who wore a bun hairstyle, entered after her and said, "Ma Lingling, didn’t you say you wanted to apologize to Xiao Xiang? Just apologize, and it’s done, we’re all in the same dorm, and it’s not like it was on purpose."
Li Xianglu hadn’t even taken out the watermelon when she heard this, frowning, she saw Ma Lingling put down the basin, her intertwined fingers resting in front of her stomach, her face conflicted.
Li Xianglu spoke lightly, "Ma Lingling, things have come to this, I intended to keep this concealed and not publicly disclosed, but because of you, I’m compelled to reveal it. Although there’s no substantial harm caused, on this matter, I remain skeptical about your claim that it wasn’t intentional, so let’s forget about apologizing. We’ll have time in the future."
Ma Lingling looked aggrieved, her almond eyes suddenly brimming with tears, displaying a look of wanting to cry but afraid to.
Li Xianglu immediately grew angry, what did this mean?
Chongchong saw this and immediately displayed anger, "Li Xianglu, you already said that this matter didn’t cause you significant harm, why can’t you just let it go? Can’t you forgive Ma Lingling? It’s not like she did it on purpose, can’t you be more generous just once?"
Li Xianglu almost laughed, what kind of reasoning is this? Why should a mistake necessarily be forgiven? Should the aggrieved always be tolerant? Does making a mistake make one justified? Should murderers apologize and then the victims’ families genuinely forgive them, otherwise they are terribly wicked?
Li Xianglu hadn’t even had the chance to retort when she heard Lu Anna, who had finished packing up, lazily saying, "Xiao Chong, if one day someone exposes your privacy without your consent, and you just chuckle and tell them ’it’s okay, I forgive you’, then I’d really admire you!"
Xiao Chong, feeling indignant, replied, "Why not? Ma Lingling has already apologized. Shouldn’t we make things easier for others?"
Li Xianglu chuckled, "Then please don’t make it hard for others either. Whether Ma Lingling did it on purpose remains to be discussed, and Xiao Chong, you have nothing to do with this situation. It’s better not to meddle in others’ affairs, especially since it doesn’t concern you!"
Hearing this, Xiao Chong’s face turned bright red, his mouth twitched, and he started to cry out loud, his tears flowing freely: "You guys are bullying me, I don’t want to play with you anymore."
Li Xianglu widened her eyes and looked towards Lu Anna and Iro, who also seemed to find the situation strange. Is Xiao Chong still a child? He’s already twenty, isn’t he? At the slightest disagreement, he throws a tantrum and refuses to play?
Li Xianglu ignored him, turned around, and sat down on the bed, hugging a big watermelon. Xiao Chong continued crying breathlessly, while Ma Lingling, beside him, tried to console him, but it didn’t seem to help.
At this moment, someone knocked on the door, and everyone turned to look. Seeing the visitor, Li Xianglu exclaimed with surprise, "Sister Yun Mei!"
Xi Yunmei appeared surprised to see Li Xianglu, and from behind her, someone else emerged, equally baffled: "Sister-in-law, what are you doing here?"
Li Xianglu’s eyes widened: "Sister-in-law? You call Sister Yun Mei sister-in-law?"
Lu Anna raised an eyebrow: "Yes, isn’t my brother’s wife my sister-in-law?"
Li Xianglu paused and then said, "You are Brother Lu’s sister?" She looked her up and down: "Doesn’t seem like it."
Lu Anna twisted her body awkwardly, this was not the place to talk, but clearly, Li Xianglu, the brother, and the sister-in-law all knew each other. She signaled Iro and planned to go outside to talk.
Seeing this, Li Xianglu nodded, picked up the bag containing the watermelon, and left.
Xiao Chong was still crying, and seeing everyone leaving, he was incredulous. Why wasn’t anyone consoling him? In the past, everyone would console him when he cried, why not now? It felt so unfair.
The three sat down on the steps under the shade of the trees and sliced open the watermelon that Li Xianglu had brought. It wasn’t large, just about the size of a small soccer ball. She had planned to store it in the cabinet and eat it tomorrow. Although small, the fruit was very sweet. Each took a slice, eating and chatting.
Knowing that the two of them shared a dormitory, Xi Yunmei laughed and said, "Ah, I didn’t even know you two were roommates. You seem to get along quite well; it’s really fate."
Li Xianglu, Lu Anna, and Iro all had complex expressions. They didn’t argue. Yes, it was fate.
ps: I ate something in the afternoon and came back fully revitalized, chatted in the group, and felt incredibly good. I wrote three Chapters in one breath, scheduled for 7, 9, and 11 o’clock. Keep up with the monthly tickets, can you maintain this ranking? I’ve never ranked so high before; I could wake up from dreams smiling :)
