Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Ultimatum
Instead of feeling threatened by my words, Elliot scoffed, and his eyes glinted wickedly. He took another step closer to me so that we were only inches apart.
“Get off your high horse.” Elliot placed his hands on either side of me, effectively trapping my back against the counter. His cool, sharp scent hit me like an arrow to the chest, hating the way it still affected me. “You and I are one and the same, baby. Deep down, we aren’t afraid to use people. I sleep with Isabella to get what I want, and you spread your legs for Gareth to get what you want.”
My nose wrinkled, and my stomach churned with disgust.
“Oh, don’t look so high and mighty,” he drawled and lowered his head until my gaze met his. “I know that you’re keeping that old man’s bed warm at night.”
“You don’t know anything,” I snarled, gritting my teeth. “For the last time, get the hell out of my house before I call Isabella.”
My former mate laughed in my face and pressed his body against mine, lifting one of his eyebrows suggestively. “Why don’t you spread your legs for me instead of that senior citizen? I’ve got the stamina to pleasure you all night long. I don’t even need a little blue pill to do it.”
Elliot shifted his hips, and my stomach churned when I felt his hardness against me.
My fists clenched. I was sick of Elliot’s unwanted sexual advances. With all of my might, I stomped on his foot. Hard.
“What the hell, Jasmine?” he hissed, springing away from me and jumping on one foot.
I grinned at how ridiculous he looked, then grabbed a sharp knife off the wooden block. “Don’t ever touch me without my consent again, or you’ll regret it,” I warned in a low, dangerous voice, hoping that my mom was sleeping and hadn’t heard us fighting again. “If you don’t leave my house now, I’ll make you leave.”
Elliot put his hands up and shook his head slowly. “Geez, Jasmine. Don’t act like I’m some monster. Every interaction between us has been consensual. We are fated mates. We crave each other’s touch. Don’t stand there and act like you don’t want me.”
I snorted and tightened my grip on the knife. “Sure, whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.”
“Fine, I’m leaving,” he said with his hands still in the air like I was the crazy one. But I knew this was all just part of his manipulation tactics. “Before I go, though, I need to tell you the real reason I came here in the first place.”
A cold sweat ran down my back.
He put his hands down and crossed his arms. A calculated look came into his eyes. The real him was making another appearance. “I think I’ve given you enough leeway to fool around as it is. You have a week to move to the house that I bought for you or,” a sinister smile crossed his face, “you won’t like the consequences.”
Without waiting for me to reply, he spun around and walked out of the room. I followed after him to make sure that he was actually leaving. As Elliot opened my front door, I stood in the entryway with the knife still in my hand.
Before he walked out, he turned back around and locked eyes with me. The threatening look in them made me shiver with fright.
“One week, Jasmine,” he reinforced and then left.
As the door shut, I was only left with my spiraling thoughts.

Elliot stormed down Jasmine’s walkway, his hands shaking with anger. After everything that he had done for her and her mother tonight, Jasmine still had the nerve to refuse him. He had put on an apron and cooked them dinner. He had even run her mother a freaking bath! What more did he need to do?
The mating mark Jasmine left on him still burned. He swore as he opened his car door and slammed it closed. He wondered if the mating mark was punishing him because he was sleeping with Isabella. Already, his body ached, and a chill came over him because he had walked away from Jasmine. His wolf was going crazy inside his mind, demanding that he go back in there and be with his mate.
But a sick satisfaction went through him with the knowledge that Jasmine was also feeling the same kind of pain from being without him. The knowledge comforted him because it meant that they were still connected.
His wolf kept howling, annoying the hell out of him, but he ignored it, pushing the animal side of him to the back of his brain. His wolf only wanted Jasmine, not Isabella. But Elliot needed to marry the Lycan King’s daughter.
On the flip side, he needed Jasmine to be his mistress so that his wolf wouldn’t weaken.
Elliot would have the best of both worlds. He would make sure of it.
He checked his phone and rolled his eyes at Isabella’s texts. Her last one held a passive-aggressive tone, telling him that she was going to bed. He didn’t have time to coddle her right now. Elliot ignored her, planning to deal with her later, and pulled up the contact of one of his subordinates.
“It’s time to put the next phase of my plan into action,” Elliot said once the person on the other end of the line answered.
“You got it, Boss.”
Elliot grinned and hung up. He put his key into the ignition of his sports car and revelled in the gentle purr.
After one last look at Jasmine’s house, he hit the gas, speeding down the street.
It was time for Jasmine to find out how much she truly needed him.
