Chapter 95: Karma Is A Bitch (3)
Just as the old man had informed him, the ’festival’ was a spectacle of depravity, with the tribals unloading their twisted desires onto the slaves.
But it wasn’t just the tribals; Adrian was surprised to see some familiar faces among the participants. Some of the Nexarians were eagerly indulging in disturbing rituals.
Seeing them act like that made Adrian want to puke. He couldn’t believe these were the people he had worked alongside for years. But he ignored all that and began gathering some much-needed information.
Just then, Adrian raised an eyebrow when he saw several Tulkas, the supposed guards, hurriedly abandoning their post and running towards the barn he had come from.
’It looks like even the guards don’t stick to their duty during these nights,’ Adrian thought. ’No wonder the old man wanted to make a break for it.’
Adrian thought it would be difficult for him to roam around, but surprisingly, there was little to no security. Everyone was too busy giving in to their hedonistic nature.
Adrian quickly took note of the defences spread around the main settlement before deciding to go somewhere else.
Thankfully, the beast enclosures were locked, so Ardrian didn’t have to fret about stumbling upon any critters that might sniff him out.
But given what he had seen, he wondered if the enclosures had been locked for the safety of the people or to keep the animals safe from the twisted thoughts of the tribespeople.
"...I won’t be surprised if it’s the latter."
Just then, a notification appeared before him for a mission. A mission from an entity Adrian had never heard from before.

While most tribals stayed inside the main settlement, some chose to have private time with their slaves of choosing. One such group was the youngsters who had attacked the elves earlier in the day.
Instead of letting the slaves be, the youngsters seemed to have grown more interested in how the elf had saved himself earlier and wanted him to demonstrate it again.
"I swear on Alfvania, I don’t know what happened!" The elf yelled as he was torn away from his companion.
However, the tribals heard nothing, and two of them dragged the elf towards the slime pond while the other held the elf’s partner in place.
"Yes, take him away," the guy who stayed behind yelled. "You guys can deal with him. Meanwhile, I’ll make sure this one doesn’t interfere with your business."
"Thanks! We’ll owe you one!"
The guy smiled and nodded before whispering, "Fucking morons... why would I be interested in the man when I got her with me?"
The guy called Milka always had an eye for exotic slaves, and being in such proximity to a female elf had its effects as he slowly began touching the elf inappropriately.
"N-No!" the female protested, but Milka didn’t listen and got even more aggressive.
He grabbed her face roughly, his fingers digging into her soft, snow-like skin.
"It’d do you good to get used to this," Milka snarled, licking the elf’s face. "The more you resist, the worse treatment you’ll get. But I wish you don’t listen to my advice... it’d be more fun to torture you then."
Milka then grabbed her chin and made her look at his friends and her partner, who was getting the crap kicked out of him by them.
"Those fools still think like kids, but I’m different," he said, running his hand over the elf’s body. "They think of it as a game and will be happy toying with your mate there. But I’m only interested in you, and I’ll have my fun while they have theirs."
The guy then proceeded to pin the elf to the ground and began undoing his clothes before ripping hers apart. The elf tried to summon her abilities, but the seal placed on her by the tribes prevented her from doing so.
In the end, she lay there, feeling helpless, looking at her companion, wishing for some miracle to save him. But she couldn’t do it herself and was on the verge of giving up on life.
’Elenion... please have mercy on us...’
The elf prayed, squeezing the eyes shut, ready for whatever fate had in store. But despite her plea to the goddess, deep down, she knew no one was coming to rescue them. Still, sometimes, miracles happen, and one was on the brink of happening right before her.
A moment later, she didn’t know what had happened, but suddenly, the weight of Milka’s body was gone—almost as if someone had tossed him away.
The elf slowly opened her eyes and saw the silhouette of a man standing in front of her. Although she had only briefly visited the man, she immediately recognised him.
"It’s... you!"

’It looks like I made it in time,’ Adrian thought while staring at the pained look on Milka’s face.
"How dare you!?" Milka snapped, breathing heavily. "How dare an insolent slave touch the advisor’s son!"
"Ah, so you got the young master syndrome," Adrian laughed off Milka’s threat. "Who would have thought I’d find the likes of you amongst the savages."
"What...?"
"Ah, never mind me. I often speak my thoughts out loud."
"You... I have seen your face now! There’s no saving you-"
"Is that so?"
By now, Milka’s underlings had noticed the commotion, saw the troublemaker, and let go of the elf to deal with Adrian first.
"What’s going on-"
One of them yelled, only to have their heads severed by Adrian in a blink of an eye. Once done with them, he turned towards Milka, who had crumpled on the ground, his mouth wide open.
"Does it seem like I give a shit if you remember my face?" Adrian mumbled before kicking the corpses into the slime pond.
But Milka wasn’t the only one shocked to see Adrian react that way; the elves felt the same way. Besides, all the slaves had a seal imprinted on their bodies that restricted their access to the inventory or their skills. Adrian had one as well, but it didn’t work.
Usually, Shoka would ’mark’ the slaves with the seals. But since Adrian had cut their meeting short, he never got a chance to do so, and hence, he was free to access his inventory and skills anytime he liked.
That said, Adrian did have a mark. He noticed the mark while saving the male elf earlier in the day and had carved a similar mark on himself to avoid arousing suspicion.
"What? I slaughtered your friends, and you didn’t say anything?" Adrian asked, squatting to Milka’s level. "Some friend you are, huh?"
Adrian waited for a response, but Milka was too shocked to say anything, so he decided to put a quick end to him, just like his friends, before dumping him in the pond.
The slimes would feast on the corpses, essentially erasing all evidence of their death. But now he had another problem he couldn’t deal with that easily.
"Take this and this," Adrian said, tossing a map and some clothes towards the couple. "The map should guide you to the Banur tribe. Show them the map and ask for the matriarch. She’ll keep you safe."
"Why are you doing this?" the male elf replied. "We don’t even know you..."
"You can thank Elenion for it," Adrian said before turning around. Take the north gate. There are no guards there, and judging by how excited they were to leave, I don’t think they’d return anytime soon."
