Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer
Chapter 71: Distasteful Revenge

Chapter 71: Distasteful Revenge

Adrian was a hero who had faced countless foes and conquered them all. But this time, things were different. It seemed he had met an enemy like no other... architecture.

"Not again!" Adrian sighed as the tent he made crashed once again.

Even though Adrian had raised countless tents during the dozens of subjugation and exploration quests, he had embarked on, building a sturdy structure from just animal hides, sticks, and stones was a new experience for him.

No matter how many times he tried, the tent ended up collapsing, much to his dismay and the entertainment of the tribal who were watching him intently.

"How the heck do they stay up?" Adrian wondered, staring at the tents around him.

He thought they had to have support from metal pins or something else to help the central beam stay in place, but he was wrong. There was no underlying secret like Adrian expected.

Next to him, Rina and some other slaves worked hard, making a tent in groups. Since he was failing independently, Adrian decided to take some time off and analyse how the others did it before returning to work on his own.

"...this is a tent?" Adrian wondered upon seeing the structure Rina had made from scratch.

The first thing Adrian noticed inside the tent was the tiny hole in the ceiling to allow unfiltered light to enter. On top of the hole was a flap that could be shut if it rained or obstructed the light if needed.

But that wasn’t all. A small fire pit was placed in the middle of the tent’s floor, surrounded by several short passages leading outside. These tunnels had openings for the smoke to escape, allowing the cooking inside without filling the tent with smoke.

However, these tunnels served another purpose. After meals, when the fire was extinguished, the remaining smoke would travel beneath the tent’s floor, warming it from below. Then, it would exit through the tunnels, leaving the warmth behind and ensuring proper ventilation.

Adrian was admiring their knowledge when Rina saw him and smiled at him. But before they could exchange pleasantries, Adrian saw something from the corner of his eyes and rushed out to see a grown-ass man peeing on the animal hide he was using to set up a tent.

"What do you think you’re doing?" Adrian asked, but the man ignored him and kept urinating on the hide to his heart’s content.

Without wasting more time on the man, Adrian walked to the other side and pulled the hide away from the dry side. But the man, being the petty bastard Adrian thought he was, adjusted his aim and kept at it until the hide reeked of his urine.

It annoyed Adrian to no extent, but he didn’t say anything. He knew exactly what the man was trying to do... he wanted to piss Adrian off, quite literally.

Since Adrian had the collar tucked to his side, the tribe members couldn’t touch him unless Adrian did something first.

The bastard knew that and was intentionally trying to instigate a fight by making Adrian mad.

Adrian quickly looked around and realised that the man wasn’t alone. A few others were looking at them, making their plan even more obvious.

’So they want to take matters into their own hands,’ Adrian thought.

He had expected something like this to happen, but it was happening sooner than he expected. Just because the shaman forcefully dropped his charges didn’t mean the tribe would forgive him.

The man urinating on the tent was just the start. They would soon escalate their attempts, getting unhinged with each attempt.

’If I try to take on the guy now, the others might jump in and claim I started it, making me look like the bad guy.’

The man was soon done emptying his load and then looked around, confused. Adrian was supposed to attack him, but since he didn’t, the man didn’t know what to do next and, after a second or two, walked away.

But it wasn’t long till another guy showed up there, doing the same thing. Adrian sighed. He didn’t have the patience or the time to deal with brats, so he left to chat with Rina about setting up the tent.

However, as he was about to walk past the man emptying his bladder, he intentionally spewed a few drops in front of Adrian, stopping him.

"What do you think you’re doing?" Adrian asked; clearly, he was about to lose his shit, and the man realised it and decided to push him even further.

"Marking my territory, that’s what," he replied. "Do you have a problem with that, slave?"

Adrian knew it was bullshit. He already knew the communal nature of the tribe and that the concept of private property didn’t exist for them. Hence, the man’s territory marking was nothing but a stupid claim.

While Adrian could have ignored the man as he did with the one before him, he decided to teach them a lesson. However, he won’t get physical with them as the men want him to do that. Instead, Adrian was planning to employ their strategy against them.

Adrian carefully walked up to the man, and as he expected, the man didn’t do anything to stop him. After all, in their eyes, their plan was succeeding. The man kept peeing, his eyes focused on Adrian.

"Ever heard of a golden shower?" Adrian asked with a grin, eyeing the small puddle of urine nearby. "It’s disgusting, but some people enjoy it, and I think you might be one of them. But since we can’t have a shower here, how about you dip your head in that instead?"

Before the man could process his words, Adrian’s eyes glowed as he used [Illusionary Eyes] on him. He then gave the man some instructions before stepping back.

A moment later, the man finished what he was doing and slammed his head into the smelly puddle, enjoying himself while Adrian walked away without care.

Rina noticed Adrian approaching and was about to ask why his uncle seemed to be happily bathing in urine. But before he could, there was a loud explosion at the opposite end of the settlement, and a massive cloud of smoke was seen in the sky.

"What happened?" Rina asked, baffled by the explosion.

"...I got no idea," Adrian replied as everyone rushed towards the explosion’s source.
