The cloak was Adrian’s reward from the level 30 armour selection box he received from defeating the Dracotaurus. While there were other exciting armours, Adrian went for Aphrodite’s cloak for one reason: Curse Negation.

Judging from the types of quests he had been receiving, Adrian knew it was only a matter of time before he failed to complete a quest. Hence, he wanted a countermeasure against it, and that’s exactly what the cloak did.

’Regrettably, I couldn’t secure total nullification since I wasn’t cloaked when those wretched tiger clan thieves snatched the kill. Nevertheless, a 50% reduction in the curse should be enough for handling them.’

"How... are you still this strong...?" one of the leader’s clones mumbled before disappearing.

Adrian tightened his grip around the remaining clone, and soon, only three assailants remained out of the twenty-one.

"The effect of Drain is absolute... then how?" the leader continued to speak as Adrian lifted the man off his feet while grabbing his neck.

The leader had to collect his breath momentarily as the duplication skill had used up most of his mana. But Adrian wasn’t going to let the man refill his mana pool.

"Oh? You know about ’Drain’?" Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Interesting..."

Adrian had thought the Drain curse was known to those who had been to Nexaria. But it seemed the failure conditions were the same for the others as they were to him.

The leader smirked, thinking Adrian had taken the bait. Slowly, he would fill up his mana and cast a blinding spell before making a break for the doors.

Unfortunately, Adrian wasn’t in the mood to play. He lifted the man higher and then slammed his head onto the ground so hard that the whole room shook.

Adrian kept doing the same thing over and over, and the leader’s pawn could only watch in horror as his bloodied face was revealed to them. But despite all that, he was still smiling at Adrian.

"You... just dug... your grave..." the leader barely whispered before Adrian slammed his head once again.

"Bold words from someone who already has a leg down there," Adrian let him go and squatted to his level. "Now tell me, who sent you after me?"

The man scoffed before spitting a mouthful of blood at Adrian’s face. "There... that’s my... answer."

Adrian wiped the blood off and smiled, "I was hoping you’d say that."

Then, without warning, he stood on the leader’s chest, grabbing onto one of his arms. Everyone knew what was about to happen, but Adrian, being the gentleman he was, told the ladies to turn around.

The next moment, he pulled onto the man’s arm, ripping it off with sheer strength. After all, ripping something off was more painful than cutting it off with a blade.

"MY ARM-!" the man yelled, only to be kicked by Adrian.

"Now, are you willing to answer?"

The man panted heavily. He was clearly scared of Adrian but more scared of his clan than he could ever be of Adrian, and he vigorously shook his head.

"Fine by me," Adrian shrugged, grabbing the man’s other arm. "Final warning-"

"I’d rather... die than betray them..."

"A loyalist. Don’t worry, I only need one of you to speak," Adrian replied, letting go of the man’s hand before stomping and crushing his neck.

Adrian turned his gaze towards the remaining tigers. "Now then, which one of you will volunteer for information?"

An hour later...

The dungeon closed as soon as Adrian and the girls walked out. Both hunters and journalists had been expecting their return from the first dungeon. But now that they were here, no one dared to approach them.

Adrian’s face was streaked with blood, and so were his hands and the cloak that he wasn’t wearing before. Amelia limped beside him, supported by Adrian’s arm.

Paramedics rushed forward to help her, taking her away, and Sophia followed them to the ambulance. Just then, James approached him, but even he knew Adrian was in a bad mood.

"My god, what happened in there?"

Adrian retrieved a bloodstained white tiger coat from his inventory, handing it to James, "Do you recognise these?"

"I do... it’s common to see the white tiger clan members—" James’s eyes widened as he realised what Adrian was saying. "What did they do?"

"We were attacked," he said, his voice low and rough. "A group of hunters wearing white tiger fur coats tried to assassinate us. Even stole the boss’s kill to make me experience ’Drain’. I hope you know what that is?"

James nodded. It was a common yet deadly phenomenon the hunters experienced inside the dungeon. However, he couldn’t believe a guild like the White Tiger Clan would indulge in such foul play.

’It seems those anonymous reports we received were correct. Something odd is going on with the White Tigers. I might have to look into it, but first...’

James glanced at the bloodstains on Adrian’s cloak and continued, "What happened to the attackers? Did you...?"

"Two of them fled," Adrian said quietly so only the two of them could hear what he said. "The rest... well, you’re smart enough to guess what happened to them."

"I... see," James swallowed hard, stepping back. "Did you get any information from them? Like why they did it?"

Adrian shook his head. "I have my hunches, though."

"Alright," James sighed. "I know it’s not the right time, but can you provide an official account of what happened inside? I would like to include it in the reports and see what I can do about it."

"As you wish," Adrian shrugged. "As long as you’re quick about it."
