Chapter 516: Was it my hallucination or...

Shocked, Gavin darted his gaze between Gabriel and Tristan simultaneously. His lips parted in disbelief, but soon he pursed them close when suddenly Tristan spoke.

"Would you mind explaining, little brother?" he asked seizing Gavin’s attention.

When Gabriel found Bianca, he ran a thorough investigation, gathering as much information about her, and in that piece of detail, he learned about Jenny Han, a fellow doctor and also Bianca’s only friend.

Gabriel didn’t want to his guard down, so he asked his men to monitor everyone, especially Doctor Martin and Doctor Jenny. During that investigation, Gabriel learned about Gavin’s involvement with Jenny, and a few days later, he learned they going on a blind date.

With Tristan’s eyes scrutinizing him dangerously, Gavin gulped. By the looks he could tell his brother knew everything and there was no reason for him to keep hiding the truth. One way or another Tristan would come to learn everything.

Taking a moment, Gavin composed himself and faced Tristan, gradually opening up about his task to find Bianca and how his purpose to meet Jenny.

"I thought I would find Bianca as soon as possible but I failed. She was there in the same place we went for a meal, but I missed the chance to meet her" Gavin said low- low-spiritedly.

Watching Gavin blame himself, both Tristan and Gabriel shared a meaningful glance.

"Don’t worry, she is safe and is currently staying with me" Gabriel broke the news only to watch Gavin’s eyes going wide like a soccer ball.

"WHAT!" He shouted staring at Gabriel in disbelief.

"I’ll explain everything to you later Gavin, but you have to keep this whole conversation a secret."

Gavin shot his head in Tristan’s direction and watched him give a meaningful nod. He was skeptical about hiding such important news from his senior, but he agreed with his brother.

"Okay," Gavin responded.

"Good"

Now that everything was settled, Gabriel then decided to leave. "I think it’s time for me to go. Bianca must be wondering about my sudden departure"

Hearing his words both Gavin and Tristan cocked their brows curiously, but Gabriel simply ignored their look at left the cabin.

A subtle grin curled on Tristan’s lips as he noticed a small change in Gabriel’s behavior, that came after Bianca came into the picture. If he wasn’t wrong then soon his dearest friend was going to join the slave club.

Gavin noticed the smile lingering on his brother’s lips, and instead of asking why he was smiling to himself, Gavin decided to keep quiet.

Now that there was nothing left to talk Gavin thought even he should leave, but before he could bring up to speak those thoughts, Tristan turned to face him and asked," So Gavin, how was your date with Jenny?"

Gavin was taken aback by Tristan’s sudden inquiry, but he quickly masked his emotions and answered," It was good. We are trying to know each other"

"Hmm, good to hear that. Make sure you make her fall in love with you"

Tristan’s words made Gavin feel awkward, however, he simply bobbed his head.

Gavin regretted hiding such a big secret from his family, especially his brother who supported him unconditionally. However, he couldn’t bring to upset Jenny knowing how much she trusted him with their little secret.

Unable to stand the guilt in his heart, Gavin stood up, "I need to leave brother. There are few things I need to finish" he lied, bringing an excuse to escape from the office.

"Okay," Tristan smiled and watched his brother walk out of his cabin.

[Wayne House]

Sitting on the rocking chair inside her room, Alice read a paternity book that Noah brought her a few days before his leave.

Alice always found books very intriguing and would read them very attentively. Memorizing everything, she then closed the book and stood up.

"Sigh!... I’ll ask Noah to bring me more books like this" Fixing those words in her mind, she walked to the bedside table to grab a glass of water, but found the jug empty.

Alice was about to sleep as it had already passed her bedtime, but she was so engrossed in reading the book, that she lost track of time.

Looking at the time, Alice then made her way towards the kitchen. She decided not to disturb anyone and fetched water for herself.

Sensing the extreme quietness, Alice descended and soon made her way into the kitchen. Filling the water, she was about to retreat when her eyes caught the sight of a shadow moving over the window glass.

Her legs instantly stopped moving and a deep frown marred her face. Dread filled her heart and she decided to check what passed by.

Alice would’ve ignored it if she wasn’t fully awake, however, her mind and senses were both alert and she couldn’t bring herself to brush that creepy feeling.

Making her way towards the window frame, Alice was about to open it when suddenly the light turned on and she flinched in terror.

"So you need something, Madame?" one of the maids who sensed some movement happening inside the kitchen quickly rushed to check and found Alice standing in front of the window door with her back facing her.

Anna had strictly notified the servants to provide Alice with everything she needed and when the maid saw her inside the kitchen, doing something on her own, she panicked.

Alice snapped towards the voice and saw the maid standing in front of her with a distressed look. Her terrified thoughts washed away when she saw a familiar face bringing her slowly to calm down.

Alice quickly composed herself and shook her head, clutching the jaw around her hand. "It’s nothing, you may leave," she said soon making her way out of the kitchen area, and quickly reaching into her room, she locked the door, anxiously.

Sprinting towards her bed she sat down and poured water for herself. When she finally relaxed, she realized it must be her illusion. With such tight security, there was no way any thief would trespass on the Wayne property.

"You seriously need to calm down Alice" Comforting herself, Alice then lay on the bed.

Her hand instinctively cupped her belly and the incident that occurred in the morning crossed her mind stopping her movement the next second.

"Was it my hallucination or did I truly hear him"
