The rage burning in his heart subsided when he felt her tears on his lips. He wanted to shout and run after that man hunting him down for hurting her but here she was stopping him from doing so.

"Why do you always do that" Alice heard him say as he pulled back from the kiss. The coldness in his eyes was now replaced by helplessness.

Noah didn’t want to be vulnerable not at this moment when he was just a step away from teaching Brooke the biggest lesson of his life.

Alice looked at Noah and felt a pang in her heart. She was scared because she didn’t want Noah to commit any crime in a fit of anger.

When she didn’t answer him, Noah pressed their foreheads together and gnashed his teeth as he tried to suppress his animosity. He knew only she had the power to tame his madness but he also knew it wasn’t the right time to let Brooke go without being warned.

"You promised me that you will not let your anger overpower your sanity" Alice reminded him about his words and heard him grunt.

Noah pulled back as he stared at her in disbelief. He knew the promise he had given her but what was he supposed to do when the man whom she feared so much attacked her?

The way he kept following her only mean that he would again try to cause problems for Alice or something worse than that.

Noah didn’t want to imagine anything, the thought itself made him die a hundred deaths.

Growling in disbelief Noah turned around, frustratingly running his palm over his hair. " Damnit.."

Alice knew it was hard for him to control his fury, but it wasn’t the time to use physical strength over anyone. They had to use their brain to trap Brooke and make sure that this time if he entered the prison there won’t be a way to get out.

Noah balled his palm into a tight fist and punched the wall starling Alice on his outburst.

"Noah.." she yelled and quickly pushed him away.

"Please don’t hurt yourself" she cried quickly engulfing him for a bone-crushing hug.

"We will find a way to punish him but please... don’t hurt yourself" It pained her heart to see him act like this.

Noah couldn’t contain his anger towards Brooke. He just wanted to hunt him down no matter what.

Keeping still, he tried to calm himself. Alice’s tears were making him weak and to stop her from crying her heart out, he decided to drop his anger for now, but he promised himself that, he would soon get even with Brooke.

"Let’s go to bed," he said after a long pause and watched her pull herself away.

Alice sniffed like a kitten and shook her head denying his words. Lifting his hand she looked at his knuckles which were bruised. "We need to treat this," she said and looked up at Noah with a small pout appearing on her lips.

Noah couldn’t help but chuckle. Leaning forward he kissed her lips and pulled back. His anger had entirely dissipated by now and all he did was agree with her.

"Hmm.." giving her a nod, Alice dragged him to the bed where she cleaned the wound and put on the medicine.

"You need to control your anger, Noah. Sometimes you end up scaring me" Her words made Noah look at her.

Now that she pointed it out even he came to learn that lately, he had been getting easily furious.

Once she was done, Ashley placed the first aid, back into the drawer and turned to face him.

"Was it because you saw me dying in front of you that led to this ferocity? You still blame yourself don’t you" Alice asked looking straight into his eyes.

Noah pursed his lips into a thin line and lowered his head. Though she said it wasn’t his fault but how can he forget it is him who is the cause of it.

Sensing his guilt, Alice cupped his face and made him look at her. "You know that never blamed you for anything that happen to me. It was bound to happen not that day then maybe some other day. You can’t stop the course of life, Noah"

"For me what matters now is having you by my side and I know nothing will happen to me," Alice said trying to soothe the pain he was causing himself secretly.

"But I won’t let them slide so easily" Noah firmly answered. Though his eyes were gentle the determination was evident.

"You can do whatever you want with them but legally. You can’t let your anger over-power your sanity Noah, because I don’t know how long I will be able to calm you"

Alice expressed her fear to him and watched him take a deep breath before he rested his forehead on hers.

"It won’t happen again" Noah sincerely apologize to her this time. He knew that his outburst had somewhat scared Alice but he couldn’t help as he lost control over himself.

Convince by his words Alice pulled back and stared at him for a few seconds before she kissed him.

"Should we continue... " she asked making him confused.

"Earlier whatever I said to stop you from leaving me, I meant them" Noah’s eyes widen when he watched her unwrap the sheet around her body and let it pool on the bed.

Crawling on his lap, Alice cupped his cheeks before she slammed her lips on his. It took Noah a few seconds to compose but when he did, the beast inside him arouse once again with his dick starting to poke him underneath his pants.

"Are you sure you want this because I won’t stop even after you beg me" Noah said in between the smooch and watched her with intense filled eyes.
