Chapter 257: Want in return

Chapter 257: Want in return

Natalie sat silent for a moment. She kept pondering on Avera’s words and if whatever she said was the truth, then she shouldn’t let Alice use Noah.

It was her wildest dream to have the playboy by herself and now, after all these years of waiting, if she finally got a chance to have him, then why shouldn’t she believe her words?

Bobbing her head in agreement Natalie said," Okay, I will put my faith in your words but what do you want in return for my help"

Natalie wasn’t that stupid to not understand the motive behind Avera’s approach to her. She only came to find that she was her friend’s cousin and now she was eager to know about her equation with Alice.

Avera’s lips curled into an evil smirk as she tapped her fingertips on the table’s surface before she looked up at her." I want to destroy Alice. That’s the price I want in return for my help"

There wasn’t an ounce of kindness in Avera’s words. All she could spill was venom, and that was enough for Natalie to see through her expression.

"So, what do you want me to do?" she asked without any second thought.

Sitting in front of Tristan Noah tapped his feet anxiously. After Natalie’s sudden appearance last night, Noah had been having a very giddy feeling creep inside his heart.

"Will you stop doing that? It’s not like Alice found you cheating on her. She knows everything, then what are you worried about?" Tristan asked.

The second Noah barged into his office without any notice, Tristan could smell something wrong. But before he could question him, Noah puked everything taking him by surprise.

Natalie had somehow recalled whatever happened at the bar. If not why would she come looking for Noah?

"I don’t know what is making me nervous Tristan, but that girl gives me a creepy feeling. It’s like just the thought of her makes me feel like thousand of ants are crawling on my body and her touch... Eww...I just can’t tell how much I want to erase it" he expressed flinching at the thought of her touch.

Noah had taken a shower just so he could wash away her touch from his skin. Even though he had pushed her, still the close of her body made him want to throw up.

Tristan arched his brow in amusement. This was the first time he had seen Noah get disgusted by a woman’s touch. He was happy that his friend finally was walking on the right path, all thanks to Alice. He knew they both weren’t perfect but they fitted perfectly for each other.

Finding Tristan quiet, Noah turned his eyes to her and watched him smiling." Is something wrong with my face? Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked.

"Nothing, I just felt like staring at you. Have you realized how much you have started to make sense" his words made Noah look at him cluelessly.

"Anyways, what do you plan to do next? Now that the girl knows the place where you live, it won’t be hard for her to keep visiting there" Tristan said.

Noah had already thought about it. Natalie told him that she will see him soon, but he don’t know when and how. The ways she was so confident with her words Noah just couldn’t stop thinking about it.

"You think I should just move out with Alice," he asked.

Noah didn’t want Natalie to create any misunderstanding between him and Alice. Though Alice was understanding, he couldn’t trust Natalie. It would be better if he kept a distance from the girl.

"I don’t think Alice will agree. She isn’t someone who would like to keep changing places just because someone is trying to woo her man" Tristan stated why he felt.

Alice wasn’t that weak to let Natalie’s presence bother them. She would rather let her know that she wasn’t even visible for them to notice.

Noah nodded his head agreeing with Tristan’s words. Alice would never give in to his decision of moving to a new apartment.

"I think I should ignore the girl," Noah mumbled.

Gabriel’s place

Sitting inside the room, Gabriel was going through some papers, reading them with utter concentration. He was so immersed in the document that he forgot Lucas was also present with him sitting on the couch to his right.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked in hesitation.

That day when Gabriel told him he wanted a role in the movie for which Ashley was selected, Lucas first couldn’t believe him. The man was a gang leader and acting wasn’t something he would be able to pull off. His stone-like face would never crumple to show any emotions.

It was okay if it was modeling as he only had to strike a few poses and look appealing, but with acting it was different.

Brushing off his worry, Lucas watched the man finally move his eyes away from the document and then look at him.

"Why do you think I asked you to get me the script if I wasn’t sure about it" Gabriel stated keeping the script aside.

"Did you get my name registered in Christina’s acting institute? I heard she is the best coach and with her teaching, I can manage to learn acting" Gabriel didn’t want to let go of the chance to be close to Ashley.

He had his allies planted everywhere and it didn’t take him time to find that Ashley was planning on taking acting classes from a renowned acting teacher. It would be a great opportunity to be close to the woman.

Something about her made him want to know her. Yes, she was his initial target, and to execute his plan, he first wanted to know her in person.

"Yes, I have already registered your name," Lucas said heaving a sigh.

He had no idea what Gabriel was planning to do. If he wants to revenge on Tristan, he could just get his work done in the snap of his finger, then why was he prolonging his mission?

Nodding his head Gabriel again picked up the script and resumed back the reading, leaving Lucas in denial.

Stopping the car in front of Miley’s house, Jack turned to see the girl unbuckle her seat belt and asked," Do you usually be this silent? I mean back there in the agency building you tried speaking with me but throughout our drive here you didn’t utter a single word"

"I thought you weren’t interested in talking, so I just sealed my mouth. I just don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable" she said pulling away the belt around her and she turned around to see him.

"I wasn’t, it’s just that I... I don’t want to screw up anything." Jack was trying to be fully present with his work rather than go around fooling. He had done it throughout his life but now, he wanted to be serious.

"I can understand, Young kids like you are always driven by passion and there is no problem with that. Even I had been through the same phase where I tried to behave maturely but still got failed" Miley expressed her experience watching him smile.

"I know. Did you see how badly I failed? It didn’t take you and ma’am to notice that how badly I was trying to fit into the guard’s role. Was it too obvious?" he asked. scratching the back of his neck shyly and watch her nod her head as she tried to suppress her smile.

"Damn... Sky is definitely going to scold me" Jack exhale in defeat.

"You don’t have to force yourself if you aren’t used to it. Being cheerful isn’t a bad choice. You can set up a new example, not every bodyguard needs to be guarded up, some can even be chill" she shrugged her shoulder casually.

There wasn’t any rule for any guard to stand there and do their job with a straight face. If one isn’t comfortable with it, then one shouldn’t be forced.

Jack nods his head in understanding. Why would he want to fit into something which he wasn’t used to?

"I think you are right. God that felt so relaxing, finally someone understanding my situation" Jack felt at ease. He shouldn’t have pushed himself to look perfect. He knew he was skillful enough to protect Ashley but that doesn’t mean he should smile.

"I already told you to ease up, but you denied it," Miley mumbled before she let out a chuckle. She could tell the boy wasn’t as boring as he appeared to be and she somewhat felt better.

As she kept looking at him, she noticed the boy had a very youthful smile, the only thing was she noticed it just now.

"Okay then, I think I should take my leave. Thank you for the ride" she said with a smile before stepping out of the car.

Jack watched the girl enter the building as he couldn’t stop himself from moving her eyes from her. He didn’t think talking with someone would help him solve his problem.

Keeping her words his mind, he then started the car and drove back to Alice’s place.
